I was unable to find an island in the Mediterranean that starts with Q. My apologies ahead of time if I erred. Moving on to R.

Rhodes (Greek) is the largest of the Dodecanese islands in terms of land area and also the island group's historical capital. The city of Rhodes had 50,636 inhabitants in 2011. It is located northeast of Crete, southeast of Athens and just off the Anatolian coast of Turkey.

Historically, Rhodes was famous worldwide for the Colossus of Rhodes, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.

Lesbos - a Greek island located in the northeastern Aegean Sea, where residents are called Lesbians, according to its demonym. ;-) It has an area of 1,632 square km (630 sq mi) with 320 km (199 miles) of coastline, making it the third largest Greek island. It is separated from Turkey by the narrow Mytilini Strait.

It has been 35 hours and no one has found a J island in the Mediterranean. The closest I found was:
- Franc Jozeph Island, an Albanian island in the Adriatic (if we drop the first name).

So I will proceed with K:
Kos, a Greek Island in the Aegean (in the Dodecanese group)

Islands in the Mediterranean, this round only.

P.S. sorry about Quadra Island in my prior post. That is in British Columbia was posted in the other Geography A to Z topic. It must have still been stuck in my clipboard. I had meant to post Hydra (the Greek island I described in my prior post of this topic).

Back to H

Hvar - a Croatian island in the Adriatic Sea. Hvar is a high east-west ridge of Mesozoic limestone and dolomite, which was part of the mainland until approximately 11,000 years ago. Around that time, sea levels rose, filling the valleys that are now the channels between the islands.
