Carnifex Ferry, the Battle of Carnifex Ferry took place on September 10, 1861, in Nicholas County, Virginia (now West Virginia), as part of the Operations in Western Virginia Campaign during the American Civil War. The battle resulted in a Union strategic victory that contributed to the eventual Confederate withdrawal from western Virginia. The campaign helped pave the way for the subsequent creation of the separate state of West Virginia.

Zeebrugge, the Zeebrugge Raid (23 April 1918), was an attempt by the Royal Navy to block the Belgian port of Bruges-Zeebrugge. The British intended to sink obsolete ships in the canal entrance, to prevent German vessels from leaving port. The port was used by the Imperial German Navy as a base for U-boats and light shipping, which were a threat to Allied shipping, especially in the English Channel.

Uskub, the maneuver of Uskub in 1918 (old name, now called Skopje).

The Entente Armies, mostly French, but aided by British, Serbian and Greek troops, pushed forward in September 1918, forced Bulgaria to leave the war and eventually managed to liberate Serbia two-weeks before the end of the War.

Windsor, Operation Windsor (4–5 July 1944), was a Canadian attack, which was part of the Battle of Normandy during the Second World War.
The attack was undertaken by the 3rd Canadian Infantry Division to take Carpiquet and the adjacent airfield, from troops of the 12th SS-Panzer Division Hitler Jugend of Panzergruppe West.
The attack was originally intended to take place during the later stages of Operation Epsom, as a means of protecting the eastern flank of the main assault but was postponed and launched the following week.

U - Operation Undertone was a large assault by the U.S. 7th and French 1st Armies as part of the Allied invasion of Germany in March 1945 during World War II. The area involved was between Saarbrücken (Germany) and Hagenau (France). This operation completed the advance of Allied armies to the west bank of the Rhine River along its entire length within Germany.

Queen, Operation Queen was an American operation during World War II at the Western Front at the German Siegfried Line.
The offensive commenced on 16 November 1944 with one of the heaviest Allied tactical bombings of the war.
The operation was aimed against the Rur River, as a staging point for a subsequent thrust over the river to the Rhine into Germany.
It was conducted by the First and Ninth U.S. Army.
