Same rules as usual...

COME ON IN AND HAVE SOME FUN. IF YOU PLAY, BE SURE TO CHECK BACK REGULARLY TO SEE IF YOU HAVE WON, OR IF IT IS YOUR WORD - TO UPDATE FOR OTHERS. :)

That's what we get for JM going to Laughlin and not staying home to do this..... >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> T A R A N T U L A - named for that dance - the TARANTELLA but I don't see it. When I see them they are quiescent.

S E C E S S I _ _ (9)

(O,N)

A D O R N M E N T - Sody gets us started, finding O N E letters [actually 3]
C H A M P I O N S - JM does another three, with C I S
-------------------
C O N S C I O U S - Probably not through C O N S C I O U S effort, but Sody found another S, but not where it goes.
E N V I O U S L Y - JM doesn't use all the available letters, and doesn't find any more. However, we now have 7 out of 9 letters, but none in place. Pretty hard to accomplish that even if you were trying.
-------------------
C H O C O L A T E - Well, you eliminated a couple of spots for C & O, but that's about it, Sody. Better luck next time.
-------------------
O R D I N A N C E - Sorry, JM. Not a hint of help. Try some words with Ss in them. You know the word has at least two.
-------------------
S U S P E N D E D - Credit Sody with placing the FIRST LETTER, S
N E C E S S I T Y - JM comes through by placing SIX CONSECUTIVE LETTERS! Whoop, whoop!
So, there are two spaces left, and two letters left to fill them. And N is already eliminated from the 8th spot. So, next person in completes the word and wins the game.

We tease each other all the time.

Another word to search.... O R D I N A N C E which may or may not place a letter or break the stand off.

Seems to happen in your games, however. I think there is a jinx on this.

MY favorite 9- letter word doesn't access many of those but it is C H O C O L A T E. Make mine dark.

Yes Revo, we have those little lizards with the frills around their necks and they are cute. I like lizards from the tiny ones you can hardly see which unfortunately get stomped to death by people for just that reason, to the great big ones like the Gila Monsters and the Komodor which I don't get too close to.

(as an aside, today Jeopardy had those weird vuvuzuelas mentioned. One of the contestants brought one back from wherever - think South Africa when they went to a soccer tourney or whatever they call them)

Ooops! Just doing a little QA on my games, and see that I didn't credit Sody with placing an A with his first guess.... the A I gave him to make it a legal word. I hope that makes things easier to solve. If not, let's all go out for a drink and forget about it.

A S T R O L A B E - JM, I took the liberty of changing the last O to an A, as I don't think the original submission was a word. No change in the scoring, as you already had an A in your word, as well as a second O. You found 4 letters.
---------------------
I M P U G N I N G - Critic, I'm sorry. I was so intent on trying to decide what to do with JM's guess that I forgot to score yours. And you did even better than JM. you found 4 letters and placed one of them, so we only need one more letter, and some rearrangement, and we'll have a winner.
S H R E D D E R S - Sody, your guess finishes off my word with an S.
---------------------
V A L U E S P I N S (10 letters... wrong game)
C L O S E P I N S - JM doesn't place any letters, but does find the only missing letter, C.

Indeed, indeed, revo. Besides which I think you hit the game winning homer.
