Less than $2 per gallon because back when it cost 25 cents per gallon, the quality was great and now with ethanol it destroys some of the engines parts. Give me 1960's gasoline instead of what you've learned to destroy and escalate prices on over the past 50+ years.

Currently the price is $1.29 / litre in Canada. = $4.52 USA pre USA gallon. Considering the extra work it takes to boil a barrel of crude out of tarsands or fracking it out of Bakken, it would seem to be fair.

I don't think the price will ever be $1.00 a litre again.

I think the price is about $1.24/litre = $4.69/gallon. Seems ok.

I wish the federal and provincial/state governments would stop subsidizing and giving tax breaks to the oil companies. These guys are making a ton of money and don't need any help.

If we would use our own oil and the gas companies would quit being so greedy or should I say stop raping us it could be $1.00 or less.

I'm an old man that remembers when prices were $0.29 Gal. That was before the big oil countries united & formed OPEC. Top prices per barrel was $35.00. OPEC immediately started raising the price per barrel because of "production costs". Ever since, the Muslim-led nations & cartels have increased the priced when the U.S.A. & our allies didn't cater to their wants.
Now, we should keep the oil we produce in the U.S.A. for domestic usage & sell any leftover to other friendly countries. Presently, we ship our oil to other countries like Japan & import oil from the Arabian oil fields. Let the Japanese import their oil from the Arabian countries.

<<<$1.84 befored Obamas gots in and now its dubble what he started withs. >>>

When gas went up under Bush it was blamed on Bush helping out his oil buddies and he was bashed daily in the media about it. Gas has doubled under Obama and the media says nothing. Amazing.

As a retailer I can tell you my average mark up on gas ranges between 8 to 14 cent a gallon. If someone uses a credit/debit card the credit card companies charge me the equivalent of around 4-6 cent a gallon for processing the transaction. Currently I would estimate 75% of my gas business is paid for with a credit or debit card.

NOW.....taxes on a gallon of gas in my area run around .40 a gallon which is reflected in the price at the pump. (federal gets .183 a gallon...various state agencies get around .18 a gallon and city/county gets around .04 cent a gallon).

Therefore if someone uses a credit card a retailer makes around 4-8 cent a gallon while the government makes a steady .40 a gallon on every gallon sold. Now, between what the government gets and the retailer gets, who is screwing you?

I would like to see the price of gas at the pump exclude taxes. After you pump the gas then have the taxes applied so that everyone knows just how much of your purchase is taxes much the way sales tax is applied to most other purchases. They way it is done now represents a stealth tax of sorts....the consumer really never sees it.

While on the subject, the feds get .183 a gallon in tax. Just imagine how much money that generates if you consider that every gallon of gas pumped in the country nets the federal government .183 cent. The feds will tell you that keeps our roads maintained. You can judge for yourself how well they handle that duty. But in any event, they should have plenty of funds with which to do it.

We still have the cheapest Gal of Fuel in the Weatern World. in London, the Self Service Station down the Stret where I was staying for a couple of weeks is $10 Gallon according to the Hotel Clerk, and still he drove to work, that is because of the Taxes in Great Britin, which is 18%. It was not that long ago when, the price of fuel was like $4.25 a Gallon. now, it's gone down like $1.20 a gallon. Are their people whom drive to work or whereever take Transit when the Price of fuel was $4.25 a Gallon, Fat Change. Do people waste fuel to go out an buy their disgusting Smokes and Beer for the Damn Football Games if the price of Fuel was $5 gallon, most likley.

I never complain about paying a fair price for anything. But the huge swings in the price of gas indicates something is wrong somewhere.

I think we should divvy out fuel cost like Obama Care .. Everyone that has a job will pay $6.00 a gallon, and they will subsidize the rest of the 47% that live off the entitlements. They would only have to pay $1.00 a gallon !!

Now can we have a NEW POLL !!

Given the oil reserves we're constantly finding in our country - and looking at the price Venezuelans pay for their gasoline, I don't think a price below $2.00/gal is unreasonable! But would love to see another poll for this week..........

Anyone who vite for $2 and under is def off their rocker. Be realistic folks. It probably will never happen. It will be lucky if we see it under $3 which some states already have this now.
