People that say they save over $100 are likely big fisherman or can't do math.

If gas is $3.60 and you get 20mpg city, you burn $.18 for each mile you drive. The nearest station to my home is 2 miles, round trip 4. I burn $.72 going down to fill up. If I pull into a station that I'm driving by and put 10 gallons in, I can pay $.07 more a gallon and it costs about the same as going to my neighborhood station. I do check GasBuddy before I go out but won't drive more than a mile out of my way to get cheaper gas.

I would be surprised if I save more than $20 a year.

Whatever meagre savings I might get from using GasBuddy was pretty much wiped out this year from a single fillup today at Sam's Club, where both GasBuddy and the Sam's Club signage said $3.679 for diesel when on the pumps it was $3.849. Ouch! Went out of my way for nothing. I could have paid $3.659 elsewhere but didn't have enough to make it back close to home.

Just traveled round trip from Tulsa to Cincinnati and saved 12-20 cents per gallon per fill up at 18 gal per fill up with 7 fill ups so about $20 on this trip.

Not counting the $250. free gas cards I just won, the savings has to be over $250.00 I would imagine. Having a 30 gal. tank sure helps as I won't buy gas when it is way up and then only fill to about 3/4 when not on a trip.

I believe in cost averaging DOWN! LOL!

Just today saved $5 on one fill up. Station 1 mile away was at $3.53 and my neighborhood station was $3.89 amazing $0.36/gal difference.

Between $150 - $200 for 3 cars. Have the opportunity to buy in 4 local cities and check GB before we fill up.

I generally know where the cheapest prices for gas are in my area, so don't use GB very often to find prices. When traveling to a different part of town I check to see if it is cheaper there to get gas, but don't often travel out of my area.

Average savings $0.05 per gal X 25 gals = $1.25 per fillup X 24 tanks per year (when not traveling) = $30.00 per year.

That's not much, true, but GB benefits us in 2 ways:
1. Shows us the local shysters
2. Locates the best prices on the road - between AL and CO we like to check the prices in the local area where we know we are going to need a fillup. We have found a difference of $0.55 per gallon between a station right on the Interstate and one 3 blocks away!

Thanks to all who post, we appreciate your time and effort to keep us up to date.
