About half the stations in my area offer a "cash discount".

Within the last 2 weeks, a lot of gas stations in Nassau County NY have started doing it. These stations I have seen charge anywhere from 5 cents to 20 cents extra per credit. Some stations are real sneaky and can charge 20 cents extra for regular grade but only 10 cents for midgrade or super.

I think that I have seen some in my area that do that. I think that it's crap that they do that. And that is how some places rip you off!

none in Canada have ever done that, wish they would though as I'd like to have a bargain. Prices are $5.68 a gallon here now and that sucks.

It seems that most of the low price (ARCO) or independent stations charge a $.45-$.50 cent fee for debit, and a lot of stations (more than half) charge $.10 a gallon extra for credit. I consider this if I need to fill up and I don't have cash on hand. Chevron, Mobil and 76 don't charge the debit fee, but they do charge extra for credit.

I live in the Auburn area and it seems like all the stations there charge more if you use a credit/debit card.

I just found one.

I use shell because they give me a 5% discount. Imagine finding a station that charges an extra 6 cents for credit. It wipes out most of the savings. And since we got off on the wrong side of the highway and had no u-turn options I am never going back to the shell in Barnesville, PA at exit 81 PA 131
