Customers who decide to do a little bit of shopping inside the convenience store right after they fill up gas. Instead of pulling up to store parking stall, they leave their vehicles at the pump, needlessly holding up those that need a fill. Oh, and butt-ins certainly brings out the worst in some of us whenever there's a lineup for cheaper gas.

The idiot who pulls up to the pump in from of you, parks nose to nose because s/he's to hurried to wait in the line up to use the other side of the pump island.

Considering what other things cost, bottled water, cell phone charges, CDs, insurance, the cost of a car, what makes you think cost is the most annoying thing? Fuel, all things considered, is relatively inexpensive. Not inexpensive, but relatively.

One thing that really bothers me is when you can't get a receipt at the pump. I believe some stations intentionally make you come into the store in an attempt to get you to buy more than gas.

I don't like gas stations where it is hard to get in and get out. My wife and I do a lot of highway miles and I really like the big stations with plenty of pumps, lot of room and a lot of conveniences.

Jdanek630: To use the Great A&P as one example, the district office sends out new pricing sheets virtually every day for produce; it does the same for milk and eggs, and it does it for meat and seafood. Most supermarkets do the same thing.

Agricultural, commodity, crop, etc prices all fluctuate on a daily basis. Typically, stores do not respond with daily price increases/decreases. The costs regarding the of purchase any particular product in a grocery store usually doesn't change around here except for "sales".
I can't recall the last time I saw the price of a gallon of milk change here in the last year, with the exception [again] being a "sale". You bet the market value price of milk changes on a daily basis.
Speaking of sales - kinda wish gas stations would put their gas on "sale" from time to time... or hey, even a coupon or two in the weekly newspaper inserts. ;)
Yeah, yeah, I know... "in my dreams".

"why do we allow Gas companies to charge us different prices each day. In fact, if I go a block east it even more expensive."
Why do you allow the price of friuts and vegetables, hog and cattle futures, and the price of airline tickets to change prices each day? Because the market changes.
If you go a block east, are they paying the same wholesale price for gas as other stations? Do they have the same operating expenses? The same rent and salaries they have to pay? The same franchise or debt payment for paying down the purchase price of the station? Are they in a better location than another station and customers will pay the higher price? And, do they make as much money from their convenience sales or are they more dependent on selling gas?
"What ever happen to boycotting?"
What are you suggesting? That you're willing to not use the product? That you want to boycott one day every so often, not buy from certain stations, certain brands? How do you intend to "boycott?"

I am at the corner of Waterloo Rd and Manchester Rd. Akron, OH. What bothers me most is that why do we allow Gas companies to charge us different prices each day. In fact, if I go a block east it even more expensive.
What ever happen to boycotting? Are we afraid we might just have to lose something in oRder to gain. The oil companies know we are scared and most of us don't understand the business world so we accept what ever there is.
So, what do we do?

Most major stations have improved the pumps. Fumes are the worst when fueling up. Another factor is unnecessary closing of stations. It's just hard for local business to stay afloat. Lastly, basic supplies, paper towels for window washing, fresh water and soap, & cleaner stores.
