I once was stopped in northern Ontario by the OPP at 3am because of an electrical problem with my headlight that was causing the low/hi beam switch to malfunction. I thought I had dimmed for him as he approached me but instead I flashed my hi-beams at him.
After looking at my headlight issue he tried to nail me for two other things as well -- he needed proof my cell phone resting on the dashboard was not a radar detector and he seemed to have difficulty understanding that Alberta does not issue a front license plate which is why I didn't have one.
He made the comment of "I don't know if you are tired or drunk but you should pack it in for the night." I wanted to respond with "If you can't tell the difference you ain't much of a cop." but I held my tongue -- hence the fact I never got a ticket.
