I drove (semi truck) through a construction zone a while back. This construction zone was one lane for 35 miles. I drove 45 mph all the way, just like the sign said to do. After the first two miles I couldn't see even one other car in front of me, but I just kept plugging along, at 45 mph. Behind me, traffic backed up, bumper to bumper, for as far as I could see. Finally, the sign said "End Construction Speed Zone". Four cars were sitting there. Four Indiana State Police cars. Four Indiana State Police cars with four bored Indiana State Troopers. I was very proud to have deprived the state of Indiana of considerable funds that day. :-P

If I see workers near the road I do their limit. Even if I see convicts picking up trash, I go slower. Usually traffic makes doing the limit in a construction zone a dream.
