He said it worked better to get water out of your gas than those "gas dry" compounds. Anybody else ever tried that?

Back in the 70's I saw a guy put grain alcohol in his tank one day. He said it worked better to get water out of your gas than those "gas dry" compounds. Anybody else ever tried that?

Which reminds me of how one of my Gas Tanks was heavily contaminated with Water,etc. Had to drain and replace to restore performance. It was hard starting and stalling/bogging down at high speeds before. Should have made a point of using some HEET (Dry Gas) Additives along with STABIL (fuel stabilizer) to keep things running smooth before... but will do so from now on.
