Please add cash/credit filters to both the app and website, for displaying prices in price lists and maps.

° Display Cash Only
° Display Credit Only
° Display Both

I don't necessarily have anything to add about the store or military discounts, but I would truly appreciate a drop down menu of the different options available for payment. The station I go to most frequently has different prices for cash and credit, prior to the last two updates I was able to see the difference and decide whether I was going to pay with a card or with cash; Now I am unable to decipher which price is being shown in the list. Thank you :)

The free comments being removed is a good idea because of useless info being posted, but a drop down list of approved comments would help, such as:

Cash Only price
Cash or Credit price
Debit / Atm card fee
Membership / Military only pricing
Pumps temporally closed/ store remains open
Grocery store discount available
Etc:

"It seems obvious that what is needed next is a filter system that permits users to search for either cash or credit prices based upon their payment preferences."

One would think it were as obvious as the ability to select Regular, Mid-Grade, Premium or Diesel.

I can't speak for other places, but at least around here where there are few dual priced stations, the cash and credit prices posted have become consistently more accurate as local spotters become accustomed to the process.

There was a period of time when some members were entering the cash price in both fields of the app in an effort to create cash figures online. Now that the cash field appears online, price entry is being sorted out correctly more often than not. Here, the correct prices are being displayed both in the app and online even though it is the credit price that appears on road signage. It appears that it is up to locals, who have first hand knowledge of the advertising and pricing practices, to set the trend of reporting accurately.

It seems obvious that what is needed next is a filter system that permits users to search for either cash or credit prices based upon their payment preferences.

I really don't care about individual site quirks or station price display practices.

What is required for the site to be useful for all is a filter to display whatever the user prefers, cash or credit.

<<<""And, in many but not all areas, the price that is posted when dual priced is the CASH price."

This would only apply to dual-priced stations. There are very, very few dual priced stations in my area so the price posted is the same for cash or credit. ">>>

The statement quoted stated "when dual priced"...if NOT dual priced, then of course the price is the same for cash or credit. HOWEVER, in some areas they are required to post the higher price not the lower priced cash price.

So, your point?

you're lucky then!

my area 99% of the stations have dual-pricing

only a few will treat a debit card same as cash...

my home site will mainly show cash prices only

when i click on MAP to see the map view, the credit card prices are shown

but, at least my favorites list will show both prices

First it doesn't matter if most pay by credit, or not. Unless regulated, most stations don't show both prices at the CURB which is where most posters get their prices. And, in many but not all areas, the price that is posted when dual priced is the CASH price.

Second - a Debit card may or may not be treated as cash. It is similar but not the same. There are still costs for running a debit card and depending if you pin or sign, it could go through the same network as the credit cards. Although some places will treat debit as cash for discount, it is not a given.

I usually pay CASH with a DEBIT card. It's not CREDIT but I get charged the CREDIT price for using a card.

Do you have any facts to back up your statement, cupboy? If you do, let's hear them!

cupboy:

"Fire your developers! Nobody pays cash except those with bad credit. Most of us pay at the pump with a card."

One of the more asinine comments I've heard. Not everyone uses credit to pay for everything, even if they do have good credit. As you said, "Most of us pay...with a credit card." Does that mean that all the others have bad credit?

If gas stations didn't think that people would pay cash, rather than pay by credit card, they wouldn't have a reason to offer dual pricing. They could/they would have one price and one price only because your "bad credit" customers wouldn't have any choice. They offer cash prices, in part, to get people to pay cash so that they (they gas stations) don't have to pay credit card fees.

The insult to cash paying customers was unnecessary and unwarranted.

All it shows me is cash price. Fire your developers! Nobody pays cash except those with bad credit. Most of us pay at the pump with a card.

i'm only seeing credit card prices on the map; is there a way to set my default maps to show cash prices instead?

i already know that my area has mostly a 10 cent spread, but wants to see CASH prices showing on the map, not credit

I can't imagine how annoying it would be to live in a cash/credit area snd only see the cash prices listed.

This needs to be a feature for both the maps and the price lists on the web and app.

If it requires separate maps for the map, oh well.

This suggestion has been added to the Suggestion Tracking List as a new subject.

Good idea. There is probably no great need to show both directly on the map simultaneously as one is usually looking for one or the other. But it could (and I am sure will by the time they get done) show both on the balloon if it is called up.

" Maybe the map should only show cash or credit filtered stations?"

True, it may be problematic to display both in the map view, especially in high coverage areas.

Good suggestion. Not sure both will display well on the map though? Maybe the map should only show cash or credit filtered stations?
