There are a couple o statons in my neighborhood that DO NOT sell diesel. Over the Summer a couple of people were reporting diesel prices at those stations.

After zeroing out the prices and reporting the offeders multiple times they stopped (I guess they got the hint from the admins). They are back at it again starting this week.

Seriously! What is wrong with people? If they continue to do it I will start letting the admins know again.

I hate to rat people out, but stuff like that really makes me question if the prices I see posted are correct. How would I find the best prices if I do not know if I ca trust what is on the site?

They can't come back, cause they never left! May they're just coming out of hibernation.

Non-existent-product reporters are alive and well and have never left. The mods have been promising for years that they will link price reporting to the grades of fuel checked in the MSL. Thus, if the MSL says that a Costco station sells only regular and premium, it will be impossible to post prices for midgrade or diesel for that station.

This must be a thorny programming issue. They have made dozens of less significant upgrades but we are still waiting for this highly important change.

This suggestion (as amended) has been added to the Suggestion Tracking List as a new topic on an existing subject.

This problem seemed to increase with the APPS and APP awards. But APPS and APP Awards are here to stay.

They do have some awkward means of zeroing out prices, but apparently only from the web site. Most smart phones can fire up the full site to correct prices.

I believe the PTB have indicated that they are "working" on a solution. Time will tell, but this complaint and suggestions to fix have been made for some time now, but we are still waiting for the solution.

Sorry, not sure how I missed typing up the suggestion!

Anyway, I feel that Gas Buddy should prevent anyone from entering products that are not sold at the station. Should the station start to sell a new product, it can be handled like any other station modification on the list. A person modifies the station profile and a second person has to verify the change for it to take effect.

It would stop reporting of non-existing products and help ensure that people looking for the products can be sure that the product is sold there!

As noted, there are already multiple topics on posting of non-existent prices. However, as this is the "Suggest a GasBuddy improvement" discussion category, is the suggestion that non-existent fuel prices shouldn't be posted? That action should be taken by the moderators against members posting non-existent fuel prices? Or is the suggestion something else, along the way of what moderators could do in order that you can "find the best prices if you don't trust what is on the site?

Sorry but the "suggestion" portion of the original seems incomplete. Perhaps the original post can be written to better explain what's being suggested.

Do we really need another topic on this subject?

Moderators, please shut this down.
