Color code green for cash, red for credit, yellow if you post from road signage and / or do not know.

It can be tricky enough typing in all 12 digits correctly, were would you put the color change buttons?

Actually, CK said MOST prices, not ALL prices.

A durable flag would be the best first step.
They have *said* they are working on a solution to the dual pricing and problems with the different grades.

CampKohler,
Not all prices come from road signage.
I drive thru at least a dozen stations a day.
Most of the stations in our local market area do not offer a cash discount. When you are traveling, you have no ideal what the local market standards are (cash / credit).

Personally, I don't see this providing much improvement - those that know if a price is cash or credit could include the credit upcharge in the comments but rarely do. However even that doesn't work well since the comment is not durable.

However, if we were to implement a short term solution, I still think the DURABLE flag tied to the MSL list that would show by the station on the pricing to indicate a dual priced station would help. If the price is listed as CREDIT, and they had a cash discount the folks paying with cash would be pleasantly surprised rather than as it is now where the credit folks are UNPLEASANTLY supplied - except for a few members that insist that everyone should have enough cash on their person at all times for such situations. If the cash folks chose the station based on price, they would likely still beat the cash price at the station they chose NOT to go to, unlike the credit card people currently being mislead by a price that would be higher (even if they pulled out cash) than the station down the road with their cash back card.

That said, the PTB SAY they are working on the issue -- they just "assured" us again that they are still gathering information for the implementation of whatever they are working on.

If you can't stop members from posting incorrectly, then I would say no to this idea. We have that problem now with prices and we don't need another similar problem.

Please clarify about the yellow. Since almost all reporting is done using signage, wouldn't it always be yellow? I am assuming that
"do not know" means it is not known which kind of price it is (vs. not knowing what the price amount is).

scoutmaster, Don't know how you keep members from posting incorrectly.
Default color be Yellow for not sure if cash / credit.

I see the benefit but how would this be controlled? What would the default color be? How do you stop someone from posting the incorrect color?

"Color code" what for cash or credit?

And you're saying to not color code green or red if you post from "road signage"? Don't you think that almost all gas price posting is from "road signage", rather than people actually pulling up to the gas pump to view the prices? And doesn't the yellow for "post from road signage" conflict if you "do not know"?

Sorry, I don't see the benefit or value of this suggestion but I'm open to further explanation.
