Hi Don,

:-) We do know that Gatineau is in Quebec - however it's the same metropolitan area as Ottawa. I'm not talking about legal jurisdiction, but the ' de facto' city. There is a high percentage of people who live on one side and commute to the other on a daily basis, in both directions.

How does GB handle this for American cities that are part of the same metro area but different states - thinking of Kansas City & its environs, St. Louis/East St. Louis, Augusta/North Augusta, NYC/NJ... etc. Are they kept separate? If so, do those users have the option to add the ones in the other half of their city, or do they monitor two GB sites?

To follow-up Don's post, tennier, this is no different than the northern Virginia/Maryland gas stations immediately adjacent to Washington DC not being posted on the Washington DC Gas Buddy site; the northern Virginia/Maryland stations, even though the "Washington DC Metro Area" is meshed or interlocking/overlapping in transit (among other activities). The Washington DC site is stand-alone from that of Virginia and Maryland, which are also stand-alone even though the population may shop in one area, live in another, and work in yet another. In this case, you're talking apples and oranges, Quebec(s) and Ottawa(s).

As a further suggestion, assuming you're driving in both areas (Quebec and Ottawa), by posting gas prices on both Gas Buddy websites, you'll help a considerable number of people from both areas be more knowledgeable shoppers.

Gatineau is a city in Quebec, across from Ottawa, though they're closely located and even have population census (combined), legally it is a metropolitan area established in Quebec.

This is why it is not included under the Ottawa, ON metro area site.

tennier, are you talking about the local listings for Ottawa? Gatineau is currently listed in the Quebecgasprices. Are you saying it should be moved to the Ottawa site?

As a senior member (one with more than 10,000 points), you can add gas stations to the Master Station List yourself.

Simply click on the Master Station List link (at the bottom of the page) and add the station and any information you have about the stations.

And, as a suggestion, be sure to post gas prices for those stations to help your fellow Ottawa and Gatineau Gas Buddy members be more knowledgeable shoppers.
