As far back as the forum search allows there are complaints of people posting diesel prices at stations that don't even carry the product.

In the MSL and FSL if the product is not available there is no box to fill in the price. Do the same in the mobile apps, the diesel or midgrade (in the case of Sam's Club) is not there gray it out.

Hallelujah , thank you all.......Gas Buddy please fix this and disable input for non existent products. I can't tell you how many times people are posting diesel prices on stations that don't offer it. Just a suggestion but "waze" lusts these products as N/A

Here's what befuddles me ....... If you click on the station name on the price board, the next screen only shows the grades sold at that station regardless if there is a price posted. It would seem this could be transitioned to the grades available to post for a station. In other words, it appears there is code in place that just needs to be adapted,

This has been explained it's fair share of times in the past, we've been collecting information through the smart prompt surveys through the apps and which will eventually lead up to this change being applied to the whole system. It's not as simple as disabling a check box, there are things that need to be done beforehand.

Once again, your patience is all appreciated!

Yes it is that simple gougenator. And considering how long they claim they have been working on this, it should be out there now. I'm beginning to think either nothing is being done or they don't know how to do it.

This change will take, and is still taking some time.

The most we can do (as mods) is forward feedback about this subject. There are things that the developers need to set up or make happen before a change like this can be made, as it effects the entire way the system intakes/displays prices for all the sites and apps. It is not a small change, and requires an "overhaul" of how things are done. Some may not believe it, but yes, this is still in the pipeline.

Your patience is appreciated.

For the time being, if you see an inaccurate price on the website, please delete the price using the "zero out" method, or report the user for posting inaccurately via feedback (there's no harm in doing both).

The same company that designed the ObamaCare website could help fix the code on GasBuddy. That might get it fixed quicker.

On Saturday night, 10/12/13, the Gasbuddy app on my iPhone was updated to V1.26.1375, yet there is still not tie in between the MSL and the App, so if it is in the works it must be on a back burner simmering.

Hey CK took you awhile to chime in, have you been on vacation? Plus, per scout, this is an OLD subject. I prefer Lays over Ruffles.

Just because the title is different doesn't change the fact this is discussing the same thing as many other topics.

Scoutmaster; sorry to get you ruffled, but notice the topic linked to reads "Posting Price When Product is Not Sold at Station" my topic heading is to the point. While my information may be off, my intention is unchanged. Thanks jrsva, for correcting me on my error.

This has been a sore point for a long time. The Mods promised to tie price posting to the grades marked as available in the MSL at least two years ago but it has never happened. This one change would do a great deal of good in reducing price fraud.

Sadly, you are wrong about the FSL. One can enter prices for all four grades, regardless of what is marked in the MSL and regardless of whether that grade is sold by the particular station.

Either this software change is outrageously difficult or the Mods do not care about fraud.
It is hard to see how either of these is true but what other explanation is there?
