When planning long trips I like to use the Trip Cost Calculator. It really can save us some real money.

But, there are two issues with it.

1. It is not available on the GasBuddy mobile app (further updates along the road), so I have to stop, log into the main site from my browser to make sure I am still getting the best deal in an area. I know this was discussed in another thread, so I won't bemoan it anymore, here.

2. The main issue is can we "ignore" certain stations when using the Trip Cost Calculator. While it's true that BJ's, Costco, and Sam's Club often do have the lowest gas prices, I do not have memberships to any of these stores. Thus, I can't fill up at their stations, either. So, when I am told to visit a BJ's in Virginia to fill up my tank (after driving from Cleveland, OH), I still have to find another station once I am there. The only way I've found to "override" this is to change the amount of gas in my tank to a slightly lower amount and hope a different set of stations pop up on the list.

Perhaps something like this is in the works. The last GasBuddy update now asks if a station has "membership only" pricing or sells particular kinds of fuel when you are posting prices. Maybe there will soon be a way to integrate this into the mobile app so we don't see stations we are not members of and on the main site, stations won't come up there or be used for the Trip Cost Calculator, either.

Thanks! You're all great GasBuddies!

This suggestion has been added to the Suggestion Tracking List as a net topic on existing subjects.

TX: Why not work up an example of how you would like the TC to work and look? (Holding of breath not required.)

I gave up on the trip calculator a long time ago. I don't find it helpful.

But for the calculator, see all the fuel along the route that falls w/in my price selection regardless of how full or empty my tank. Maybe a distance from the route setting and a station selection would be nice.
Personally, the entire thing needs some reworking so I don't expect much.
