As you may know, if you miss a day of points earning of any kind, your consecutive days count will start over. This is the way it works for everyone.

However, we understand that there are sometimes legitimate and uncontrollable problems that may lead to a missed day.

That is why, some time ago we decided if someone contacts us within a day or two of missing a single day, we will be able to give them the points and update the count as though the day were never missed.

But, while trying to be as accommodating as possible, this really defeats the purpose of consecutive days entirely, so we've limited this to two times.

That is, we will update your consecutive days count no more than 2 times. After that, you're on your own.

Usually when the CD count has a hiccup or has an issue, it's more than one user being affected. When we get emails with "The system messed up..." and then we see someone didn't earn points on Saturday and Sunday, our eyebrows will go up.

Unless there is an issue with the site preventing someone from using it, I am opposed to grace periods. Why be rewarded for something you didn't do? Forgetting is not an excuse.

Sorry, but the only "grace" should be for a known server burp.
There is so much more in life than worrying about consecutive days. I have started over many times, and know I will again at some point.
I have friends on the board that have lost theirs repetitively just as they regain them due to recurring health problems.
Seriously, I hope you aren't one to cheat to get APP awards, or post un-documented/unseen prices just to keep your "consecutive days".
All you have to do is post a post and you keep them, and since you posted here, you obviously know how to get to the forums to make a post.

Better suggestion: don't get hung up on consecutive days. Then when you do lose them (which will happen eventually), it won't be such a big deal.

Consecutive days should mean that. If they want to change the qualifications, they should change it to "Nearly Consecutive Days" or something similar.

You mean sort of like making baseball history for breaking Cal Ripkin's streak of consecutive days playing because you have more total consecutive days if they only count the days you actually played and don't count the days you didn't actually play?

Forgetting that there is a moderator available "we understand an unusual situation and will give you a credit day", how does allowing you not to post (unique situations notwithstanding) because of a grace day of your choosing keep your streak "consecutive". Why not just use the moderator provision?

Why? Consecutive means in a row. And if you miss a day, what of importance do you lose?

Hey CampKohler, why has this been added to the wiki but others in this category haven't?

This suggestion has been added to the Suggestion Tracking List as a new topic on an existing subject.

You know, even if you are in a gas station desert, unless you are out of range of cell service, you can use your cell phone browser to do a just one single thing that earns points on the full site and you will have the day covered.
