I would like to see biodiesel as one of the fuel types that can be searched.

Thanks,
Jim

You could also make use of the following website to determine locations for alternative fuels:

Alternative fuel site locatons

I suggest you check the various options available on the site, as well as how data is compiled. Note that you can contribute to the website, adding locations, among other actions.

This suggestion has been added to the Suggestion Tracking List as a new topic on an existing subject.

gandhirama: Per kwzh's suggestion, here are some ideas on DIY reporting of non-standard grades/fuels.

One would think that adding a new grade/fuel would almost be a cookie-cutter-like effort, programmingwise, but then we users don't get to look behind the curtain to see if that is true.

Hi gandhirama, and welcome to the forum. With fuel types not yet implemented by the GasBuddy system, you might want to consider using your local forum to report the location and price at each station in your area that sells that fuel. For example, create a new topic with the title "Biodiesel prices", with the message content giving enough details about what the topic is for; then post a follow-up message with the current info for specific stations. Other people in your area can likewise post new information, and whenever you'd like to fill up your biodiesel vehicle, you can check that message thread for the latest info.

Hi gandhirama,

There are a number of alternative fuels that the developers would like to see increase in popularity, before adding to the sites and apps.

For the time being, we are considering adding other fuel types to the website and apps, however, currently only display the three main grades of gasoline, and diesel.

Thanks for your patience as we continue to develop and improve the websites and mobile apps.

There are numerous alternative fuels (for lack of a better description) that are being considered by the moderators (as they've indicated multiple times in multiple threads), but for now they're emphasizing the three gasoline grades and diesel, the predominant fuels used by Gas Buddy members and the general driving population. As a suggestion, if you have strong enough feelings as to why Gas buddy should include bio-diesel (or any other fuels) as being searchable, you might want to provide a reason or some substance to your request.

At the expense of being criticized, you've been a Gas Buddy member for more than nine years with two gas price posts, at most, during that time. Even if you believe that there should be posting for alternative fuels, it would still help your fellow Utah Gas buddy members if you posted fuel prices a little more frequently, helping them be more knowledgeable shoppers. But that's just a suggestion; that's all.
