I will drive further to find stations that offer nonethanol fuel for my yard engines. Ethanol fuel damages the soft parts in motors that aren't used on a regular basis.

TxJeans,

You're trying to make sense of something that is such a mess no one can make sense of it.

This has been requested time and again in various ways — flag prices for E0 gas in some way such as a different color, allow for a comment line in the MSL to appear on all price posts, etc. It would certainly be a valuable service but I don’t expect any move by the Mods to implement it. In another thread on this subject one of the Mods allowed that it is a dying issue since E0 gas will not be around at all pretty soon. I very much doubt that this is true.

"The author refrained from mentioning that alcohol also damages the soft parts in brains that aren't used on a regular basis, which demonstrates admirable restraint."

I'm sorry. What?
Was that necesssary? Or remotely appropriate in these discussions?

Scrapheap: I didn't say it was the one and only option, nor did I say it was the best option. But it can be added to the Master Station List's notes for the station, just as kerosene and/or propane or other fuels could be added.

Uh, what? As far as I know, all he could do would be to add a note in the comments section of the MSL. That is pretty useless.

I don't understand how this can be a NEW topic on an EXISTING subject. Seems more like a REPEAT request of an existing REQUEST. I am sure that this topic is not new.

This suggestion has been added to the Suggestion Tracking List as a new topic on an existing subject.

Probably the author—as well as other users—does not want to open the MSL and read the Station Notes for every area station in hopes of finding a non-ethanol station (which is unlikely to be recorded unless he does it himself). Thus he wants that indication as a station feature that can be seen from the MGP map. Or better, added as a reported fuel that can be seen on all displays.

The author refrained from mentioning that alcohol also damages the soft parts in brains that aren't used on a regular basis, which demonstrates admirable restraint.

You can, once you achieve 10,000 points (and are considered a "senior" member) update the Master Station List to indicate which stations sell non-ethanol gas.

Alternatively, you can start a discussion in the New Orleans discussion category to list (and update) the stations that sell ethanol-free gas (or any other specialized or non-traditional fuels).

Or, you can, as I assume you've been doing when you post gas prices, indicate in the comments section that the station sells non-ethanol gas. (And yes, I know that comments in the comments section are not permanent.)
