If I can maintain max-posting, or even retaining my speed lines, for negligible effort while I'm on vacation or even out socializing, then I'll do so. But it's more likely that I'll have better things to do, and I'm glad that I've made a point of *not* taking GasBuddy seriously enough to let it interfere with other plans.

Wow -- Are folks so addicted to their Internet connections and "games" that they can't enjoy their vacation because they will lose their awards??? Wow. Has life become that meaningless that folks really fret about losing their level in a game? I just don't get how a vacation is not more important than some silly AP award that only they see....

Trust me, I just went to my vacation and was disappointed to miss GasBuddy's and ruin my 90 day streak.

I don't see it as being well thought out at all. Consecutive days is consecutive days. I see no reason to redefine the meaning of the word 'consecutive'.
He can start over when he gets back from his vacation and if he never makes it to level 5, so what? It really isn't important at all.

Adding it to CK's list is a good thing. It's not an endorsement of the suggestion; it's just an index to be able to find this thread in the future.
As to the suggestion itself, I'm fairly confident that it won't be implemented; however, it was a properly-made and reasonably well thought out suggestion, and there's no reason to beat up on RF for having made it.

First, I agree with Scrapheap (and hopes that Scrapheap never thinks about the Gas Buddy app awards while on vacation; better he enjoys himself).
Second, CampKohler, you're really adding a suggestion to your list that a member wants Gas Buddy management to freeze his consecutive streak and restart it for the member (as if he never missed a day because he's not posting to the website)? That really warrants being on a suggested topic list? Sorry, but while I don't see that many people have taken advantage of your list (and your efforts), adding something such as the "suggestion" in this thread makes the list seem, in my opinion, simply a list of things, not a list of value. But that's just my opinion.
Scrapheap: I hope you enjoy yourself or make the best of your travels, our streak being non-relevant. Cheers

CK - you need to get a life. Seriously -- this makes your list even less worthy than it already was...
Scrapheap - I agree. The awards are a detriment to the quality of price posting and a waste of programming resources. Not only that, it encourages distracted driving.
RecklessFire - be a little Reckless and enjoy the real world out there beyond silly anonymous apps. Seriously, nothing is so important about these APP Awards to be worth programming a "pause" because you are unavailable. It defeats what limited purpose there is for these awards.

If you are out not in the USA or Canada, there is no possible way to post prices. To keep you consecutive days going you only have to do something that earns points which are as follows:
Post a price Read a news article Post in the forums Refer a friend

This is a waste of programming resources.
I plan to leave the country a couple of times this year and I fully expect my Iron Man and Commuter Awards to reset and to lose my consecutive days streak. I don't care. These awards are absolutely worthless. I'd rather enjoy my vacations.
I think a better idea would be to abolish these awards.

As far as I am aware, GasBuddy doesn't include east Asian countries. I make the request because it's just "not possible" to continue posting even when I am available, willing, and able to keep posting.

Forget the freeze. Perhaps during the trip you will find that there is more to life than anonymous awards.

Isn't the purpose of a consecutive day streak to indicate the number of days that you've kept the streak intact? That is, to indicate the number of days from the beginning of the streak to the end of the streak, without any breaks?
If you're starting a streak and post for ten days in a row, then take a break for one, two, or 100 days, and then post for two more days, you wouldn't really have a 12 days consecutive streak would you?
Sorry, but if the streak is that important that you can't take a day away from it and have to start over, for "awards" only you see, not seen by other members, maybe the trip isn't that important. Not trying to be harsh, but it's a consecutive streak you're talking about; not a streak in which you post on days that you're available.
In my opinion.

NO! These are stupid app awards that only you see. Go enjoy the adventure and forget about commuter and iron man.Enjoy the WORLD outside.
There are more important coding that they could make than allowing someone to "pause" their games while away and not contributing to the site.
You can have the fun of rebuilding your scores when you return.
