When will the gas buddy site add CNG to its fuel list. I think it would be much more useful to know where CNG is instead of say, ethanol.

I know of no stations in my area that sell CNG.

I dont mean to suggest that CNG should replace ethanol on the list of reportable fuels but, I do think it is a growing sector of the fuel market. I guess we will have to wait and see wether or not CNG makes a big impact in the automotive world.

This has been suggested before and if I'm not mistaken, the powers that be addressed that by stating it will not be added.

The recommended protocol for dealing with fuel types not currently supported by GasBuddy is to find or create a topic in your local forum. Use the title and the top post to explain what it's for, then make a follow-up post for the first price info. (This is how we did diesel before the site supported it.)

Are you suggesting that Gas Buddy has information as to where CNG can be purchased, or are you asking that the membership post CNG prices as they've been doing for gasoline and diesel? If you're looking for where CNG is, why not start a discussion in your local California discussion category listing the various places "where CNG is"?

Regarding ""it would be much more useful to know where CNG is instead of say, ethanol", do you mean the website should not include prices for fuel with ethanol?

If you're suggesting posting prices for CNG, which has a limited automotive customer base and doesn't meet Gas Buddy's current criteria for posting (as indicated by the moderators on multiple occasions), are you also suggesting that the site add off-road diesel, propane, kerosene, and racing fuel, or bio-diesel as others have suggested?

Personally, if you're suggesting posting prices for CNG, I think there's too small a user base for CNG replacing ethanol-based fuels on Gas Buddy. Although, if you want, I guess you could start a "CNG Buddy" website. Just a follow-on suggestion; that's all.

CNG is a niche fuel at best right now so I would not expect it added to the site any time soon.
