Price on the open market sometimes goes down and prices go up at the pump.

Funny how prices jump 10 to 12 cents in our area, then to come down only 2 cents a few days later. Price on the open market sometimes goes down and prices go up at the pump.

Speculators on the NYMEX are bidding up the price of wholesale gasoline futures. Today / Wholesale RBOB gasoline delivered to Port of New York is being offered for $3.31 a gallon in April contracts. What's that mean - our local refineries will add another 15 cent to a gallon of wholesale gasoline in March. That means our retail gas prices will be over $4 a gallon. Please make sure you are signed up and use your discount plan - such as Kroger, Family Fare, Meijer, or other and use it to keep your cost under four dollars a gallon. Remeber, when Speedway lost five per cent of all sales both gas and c-store back in 2011, they drop gas prices under $4. Please don't buy anything from Speedway if they go over $3.99.
