What we need is a civilized place to get apps like the Apple App Store. The App Store automatically offers upgrades as they are made available and tells you what changed.

Well Scout, I looked around the help when I got here, and only return when I have reason to return. And, since the What's New had NOTHING anywhere new, it sort of fell off my radar. I think it is not just help, but more of new announcements and could be made more prominent.

Well, TXJean, the reason people don't know is because they don't take the time to look. One of the 1st things I look for is the help section on a web site. Oh look! I can see it now! It's right in front of my face!

Sorry, iffy Wifi and the Nazi Timer (NO EDIT FOR YOU!) conspired. Let's try again.
Perhaps a bunch of technical detail would be too tedious for a What's New article, but I believe that the very fact that an update has occurred is prime grist for that mill. Technical details could be announced separately and linked from WN as suggested here.

We talked quite a bit about what exactly we were going to put in What's New. We decided as a whole that mobile app updates don't belong there. All of the app updates are available in their respective stores. iPhone Android Windows Phone BlackBerry - Ryan (RD)

Why maxstar, moving What's New is an extraordinarily excellent idea, which could be devised by only the most perceptive and clear-thinking mind. All kidding, aside, your dating idea has lit a lightbulb for this idea.

I would suggest that the "What's New" link be moved somewhere in the top banner and tagged with the last update to it to indicate when the last new item was added. Something like "What's New - updated 11/01/12".

Scrap, they just updated it with a bunch of old stuff on up to Nov 8 update. However, I suspect most people don't even know it is there under the "HELP".

How about announcing anything new in What's New?
