Tx: If I made a mistake as to the nature of a suggestion (or can't get a good answer about it), I will make a correction.
I see "Throwing anything or everything...." as the ONLY way to do it if the suggestions are not to be judged, and who are we to judge? Opinions may be expressed for or against, but that is not the same as erasing them. Lastly, as each suggestion in the list is (or will be) a link back to the topic, and not providing a link for a particular idea would be another form of judgement.

I think it is a bit premature to say the OP never came back - it hasn't even been 24 hours yet. Also, at least he isn't a 1/120...

Don,
This is a classic example of a new member starting topic and never coming back. Hence the reason I feel new members should not be allowed to start topics until they reach a certain threshold.

I agree with TxJeans. Putting everything on your list CK really makes it nothing more than a hodgepodge. And since you really have no idea the number of hits your site gets, it really makes what you are doing pointless.

squirrelisan, if "update own posts" means price posting, you'll get that ability after you've earned some seniority. Keep on posting gas prices!
CampKohler, although I agree that we should be discussing the idea, this seems to be a case where determining the motive will help clarify what's currently a fuzzy idea -- or help determine that the intended effect is something already available some other way.

@CK "To all those who ask why a member makes a suggestion or says things like "What's the point?" I say, don't question the author's motives. The author's motives are absolutely irrelevant. Instead, question the ideas put forth."
Well - throwing anything and everything makes your list rather inflated and it loses value IMHO. I would rather wait for an idea to at least be clarified and see if there is even a modicum of support before adding it to a list.
I, for one, have stopped even looking at your list any more. I think you had a good idea, but not sure the throw everything ever mentioned here as a suggestion on the list is productive.
Again, appreciate your effort, but that is just my opinion.

squirrelisan,
That is a rather vague suggestion.
When you have a moment could you provide more information?
Are you referring to comments in the app (limited) or on the site (also limited)?
Are you referring to updating your own price reports or forum messages?
Which time stamp are you referring to?

On reflection, I may have misinterpreted "update own posts" to mean editing forum msg posts and "see all comments" to mean view all of your own forum comments. Did you mean that or strictly the comments of price reports?
I don't quite get the "and time" reference. Could you explain that?

This suggestion has been added to the Suggestion Tracking List as two new subjects and a new topic on an existing subject.
To all those who ask why a member makes a suggestion or says things like "What's the point?" I say, don't question the author's motives. The author's motives are absolutely irrelevant. Instead, question the ideas put forth.
squirrel: 1. How many characters would you like to see in a comment? Can you give an example of a comment that you needed to post, but could not due to the existing length limitation?
2. The elimination of the edit window has been discussed many times before, with those against fearing bad things if it is allowed and those who are for it are not being worried a whit. Those against could make the claim that since bad things have not yet happened, they were right all along. Yass.
3. By 'see all comments," I assume you mean that you would like to be able to view all the comments you have posted. This idea has been in effect at DISQUS —whose blog commenting system is in use at over a million sites—for years. Each member's Dashboard allows him to pull up his latest comments (and further back by blocks of comments if desired) along with any replies thereto for all sites in which he has participated. The same thing is visible whenever a member's handle is clicked. Of course, the same feature here would view only GB sites.
4. I don't quite get the "and time" reference. Could you explain that?

What do you mean that more space is needed on comments? What do you think you'd be posting that requires more space?
As for "ability to up own posts, the general purpose of the comments is to simply note a "comment" (no pun intended) such as "credit 6 cents higher" or "20 cent discount with car wash", are you thinking that the comments are an on-going discussion or commentary There is no permanency to the comments; they're simply, for lack of better words, "transient comments".
As for "see all comments", are you suggesting that all posted comments be visible to the general membership at all times? Or are you suggesting something different or more specific.
As for "(and time)", the time of the comment(s) is the same as the time of the fuel price post. What more, if anything, are you asking for?

You have quite a list for a member that just joined a few hours ago. Why do you need all those changes,
