Thanks Don. And since Caboosey bumped a topic that was dormant for over a year this topic should be closed.

I've added a new FAQ under the Miscellaneous section, it can be viewed here

“How can I change my Home site?” is one of the more common topics posted in TBTU. It usually gets a quick answer from a member but it would make much more sense to provide this info as Kwzh suggests. Another common question is, “How do I get my profile page to show my town, not just my state?” I wondered the same thing when I first joined. That should also be explained somewhere, perhaps in the FAQ.

Once again, I agree with kwzh for a well thought out change.
And, while at it, there should be a link to "What's New" under "HOME". Or somewhere more obvious than under HELP. I don't think to go to HELP to find announcements -- though, I suspect that this area is also going to slip back into oblivion again.

Currently the Home Site link in the Member's Profile page (just right of the profile picture) is just a link to the area home page for that member which is rather useless and redundant since clicking on the Home link in the top menu does the same thing. Maybe it should lead to a message instructing the member how to request a change of their home site instead.

It would be nice improvement to be able to change your "Home Site" when a user has moved locations to be able to change "Home Site".

No, absolutely not. Things should be murky or hazy if not down right hard to figure out. Transparency is evil. No, wait... I re-read your suggestion and I totally agree.
I'm fine now.
