How about having the second best record in the NL, third best in the whole MLB and fighting for a WILD CARD spot...LOL!

Can you say, "no playoffs this year" for the Rays?

Rays lost both of their doubleheader games yesterday. Actually the two rookie pitchers did OK, but there was no offense to support them. And it now sounds like Cobb might be out for a long time, maybe for the rest of the year. So another rookie pitcher will make a start in the next 7 days. He has been up to the majors for a short period, but just was not ready yet.

Well...we're expecting rain later in the afternoon which will continue into tomorrow. The drying trend should begin on Friday, in time for the weekend.

Good thing the temporary span is now open to traffic over the Skagit River, it will probably be well used during the long weekend at the end of this month (Canada Day - July 1st).

HFSR: I see that you do indeed have enough influence over the governor as he did install a temporary bridge after all. I heard that it opens today...so I must thank you for an escape route!

Just between you and me, I did build myself a "dog house" in the back for my tools. It's officially known as dad's work shed but you and I know that it's more than that eh? Especially when the wifey has her moments although, fortunately, that's a very, very rare occurence.

It's amazing how one thing can lead to another and then another. Now that the floor is done, I'm now looking at installing baseboard, new casing for the door, and new colours on the walls.

Wifey then mentioned a new mirror and light fixture.

This little project is now growing bit by bit...yikes!

Gas Cat: I did manage to find the matching grout colour. The sales guy told me that they most likely came from the same batch as they had a recent shipment.

In short, it looks just as I had hoped. Wifey likes it so I'm quite happy...although she's probably more happy about having a working toilet (finally).

Well. Finally that day has arrived! We have a totally functioning toilet. I was going to charge by the flush, but HFSR certainly made it clear to me that perhaps that might not be a good idea.

Good thing it's in place, I was kinda running out of space in the yard. My next door neighbours are beginning to think that they have problems with moles in their lawns!

Okay...that was just a joke!

Need Batteries: When I read your latest excuses for not having a functioning toilet available for your family, I immediately picked up the phone and called my good friend Governor Inslee, the governor of WA State. I asked him to see what he might be able to do to speed up the opening of the temporary bridge over the Skagit River, in case you needed to make a quick getaway to escape the wrath of you wife and children, who have been forced to live without a properly functioniong toilet for several weeks now!!! The Governor has promised me that the bridge will now open tomorrow, June 19 (one day earlier than scheduled) to accommodate your quick escape from BC. Just make sure you observe the 40mph speed limit when crossing the bridge, or you might get stopped by the WA State Patrol. This might delay your flight from justice long enough to enable your outraged wife and upset children to catch up with you and haul you back home to BC, where you will be properly incarcerated for nonperformace of your duties as family head, husband and father! Actually, an appropriate punishment might be to flush you down the now functioning toilet, that your wife in her utter despair had to have finished by a kind-hearted neighbor who is apparently more knowledgeable and qualified to handle simple little things that come with being the head of the family, husband and father!
Over and out!!!!! hohohohohohohohohoho!!!!!

So, Need_Batteries, do you have a fully operating toilet? And, did you get another bag of matching grout? I guess your plants are going to miss the regular fertilization they were getting.

The Rays are playing a doubleheader today against Boston. Two rookie pitchers are the starting pitchers, so I don't hold out much hope. Price is still out and Cobb was hit in the head on Friday, so he is out also. Cobb is OK and recovering. On the 7 day DL. Therefore, two rookie pitchers are getting their chances. Right now the score is Rays 1 Boston 4, bottom of the 5th.

I also had a ton of fun with grouting. It seems that my local store is having a little bit of fun with customers.

There are two versions, sanded and unsanded...it depends on the width of your grout lines. Anyway, I needed the sanded version.

The unsanded version is the "normal" type, that is, it requires a (24) hour period to cure...then there's the sanded version...same thing? Nope!

They decided to carry (something new to me) the sanded (3) hour to cure version. Did not know that (okay...guilty from not reading the fine print).

Anyway, I now have a small bucket full of cured rock hard grout. Gotta get another bag and mix smaller quantities this time around. I'm hoping the bags will be from the same mix. Who'd thunk it? I though the difference in the colours of the bags indicated sanded/unsanded versions...sigh!
