I ♥ Life

Hi Snow and Midnight, was a fair day, no rain/snow and frost on windshield. Took truck in for inspection with a number 9 on it. Just didn't know it had expired and was driving around almost daily! Was lucky I didn't get pulled over.

We are going to wife's son's for Turkey tomorrow and to my younger daughters Sunday.

Have a GR8 weekend.

Good evening Snow, If your swing looks like this, you may be a redneck

Had to do that fast or would time out. Borrowed it from It'saJeepthing.

Have a good trip, we are going to wife's son's Saturday and my daughter's Sunday. We are going south next week to visit relatives.

Be safe

Hi Snow, yep, just as backup. Was installed May, I think, and only needed it once and for about 2 hours. Glad I changed my mind and put it on the kitchen side of the house. Was going to put it near the gas meter, which is near our BR window! It comes on for 10 minutes every Saturday in test run. Portable generator had a hiccup and blew a lot of electrical appliances and videos.

Is that an AC in the fireplace????

Have a good evening and Wednesday

Doc, thanks and same to you

SPG, Good evening

Temp was supposed to get into 60's, was windy and made it feel cooler. But was better than in 40's!
Nope, never had a tree made out of beer cans. Would like to have what they spent on the beer! :>))
Stay warm and have a GR8 week

Midnight, 11/22/63 indeed was a sad day, and I was pushing my 2 1/2 month old daughter down the street when a neighbor told me. Turned around and ran back home to watch it on TV. Still don't think Oswald shot him.

Heard about the lady kidnaping daughter. I didn't kidnap my 2 young daughters, but I did make the trade of the century, I traded my 66 Mustang 2+2 GT fastback that I really loved for custody of them and raised them by myself for over 3 years.

Hope all goes well with hip replacement, it is routine now.

Good morning!

11/22/63 was a sad day at my school, for America, and for the world. Except for the Commie countries. They probably cheered. Loved JFK for standing toe to toe w/the Ruskies and surrounding Cuba w/our Navy.

Will learn more on cooking by watching TV in the hospital this week.

---> My last post until back home from hip replacement surgery. Should be on Friday. Staying at a friends tonight to sleep as long as possible for Monday's pre op at 6 AM.

Was just like Déjà vu from two Saturdays ago. Went to the Recycling Center to rid glass, tin cans, paper, cardboard, and plastic. Must say the attendant is keeping the place clean and the floor well sweep.

Saw the town gas remains at $3.04 while Littleton, for example, has gas as low as $2.87. Got may mail at the P.O., then headed to Subway for a light lunch. My first time eating out in three months.

Cold Cut combo's and meatballs are $2 for a 6" and $4 for a footlong, now thru Christmas. Got a footlong meatball, w/all the veggies at 11 AM. Only 2 customers in the place.

Read the free paper. Headlines were "Runaway Mom Turns Herself In, Lawyer Says Daughter Is Safe." Unlawful Flight to Avoid Prosecution and Non-Custodial Kidnapping is a Big headline, even for the NH North Country.

Original US Marshall Wanted Poster'.

The former female doctor faces 3½ to 7 years in prison for fleeing the state w/her daughter late 2004. Genevieve Kelley took her daughter, then an 8 y/o to Central America to live. They lived local, in Whitefield, NH.

They first moved to Guatemala, then to Honduras where they both disappeared for 10 years. The story made People Magazine on Nov 18. It is found here. This is quite a sensational story!

Drove to the hospital for another blood type test. Seems they all expire in 3 days. Had the same Filipino phlebotomist as two weeks ago. He was very good at finding the vein and not allowing the drawing to hurt.

Was outfitted w/a new wrist tag w/the blood type and my id number. The test is to ensure my blood will be stocked come Monday morning. It is A negative. All set to get the hip replacement surgery. Just passing the hours until it is 6 AM Monday.

Civil twilight is 6:20 AM EST. Night is 4:44 PM.

Sunrise: 6:52 AM. Set: 4:12 PM.

Length of day: 9h 19m. Length of visible light: 10h 23m. Tomorrow will be 1m 55s shorter.

The temp is 38° (3°C) w/the high to be 42° (6°C). A 50% chance of rain on the way.

Have a splendid day!

Now that redneck was funny! :>)))))

Have a good night

Midnight, still watching The Following on Netflix. Watched 2 episodes tonight. Be glad when it ends and I can watch my regulars.
Didn't know that knees were worse than hips, know you are happy about that.
I see you didn't say President Kennedy was shot by Lee Harvey Oswald. I don't believe that he did, and Jack Ruby was to silence Oswald. Around 2003, we went to Dallas to visit my daughter and our new grand daughter. They took us to where he was shot. I bought a book from the author of it. Don't know where it is anymore.
Hope you get along ok!

I saw the pics. & it looked like they got between about 3 feet. The 7 foot had to be in the drifts.

We are going to rain later on & into tomorrow. A big warm-up & headed for over 40 tomorrow! We will be grilling some steaks tomorrow. I grill all year on our covered & screened in porch.

If you stopped having children because of this ..................................you might be a redneck.

Good morning!

I ♥ Life!

No Netflix in the hospital. Cable TV tho.

Knees are much more painful than hip replacements. Feel for KK and the knee recovery. All will be best in the long run.

Nov 22nd, 1963: President John F. Kennedy is assassinated when he is shot by a sniper while riding in a motorcade through downtown Dallas.

Woke up a little early, it was just after midnight yesterday and this morning. Felt rested and not sleepy. Had a desire to pan fry in evoo red and orange bell peppers, onions, crimini, turkey bacon, and ham.

Stirred in 3 large well beaten eggs w/a few tbsps of 1% milk. Evoo around the OrGREENIc 12" ceramic coated frying pan does the non stick magic. Sliced lots of pepper jack cheese and melted it on the slow cooked omelet.

A side of no fat cottage cheese really filled me up for 6 hours. Played Starcraft to my heart's content, then watched a epi of Bonanza, The Twilight Zone, and Sons of Anarchy.

Nuked half of a butternut squash, skin on, in a 2 qt Pyrex dish, just past al dente. Then boiled (nuked) some all wheat farfalle in the same water. Scoop put the flesh after cooked, then discard the squash skin, which is soft and tasty.

Nuked some broccoli florets, added some homemade BBQ sauce w/honey, thickened it w/milled flax seed. One should not be able to distinctly taste the honey or BBQ sauce. Each taste should be equal.

Added some evoo and garlic to the bowties, then the rest of the mix. Melt some 6 Italian shredded cheese on top, then had a feast.

Civil twilight is 6:19 AM EST. Night is 4:44 PM.

Sunrise: 6:51 AM. Set: 4:12 PM.

Length of day: 9h 21m. Length of visible light: 10h 25m. Tomorrow will be 2m 01s shorter.

The temp now is 16° (-9°C). Lows around 7° (-14°C). Wind chill values as low as 6° below 0 (-21°C). The high will be 34° (1°C) in mostly cloudy skies.

Have a tremendous day!

Good morning!

I ♥ Life!

SPG He means Buffalo, NY state.

Watching The T Zone once a day on Netflix. Also many of my fave TV series. Watching each epi of Bonanza on youtube. Really like that show and have missed it.

GB servers went done at 2:58 AM. Returned by 3:07. Out at 3:11, then back up at 3:18.

Had a wonderful sleep last night, also this morning as well. Went to bed earlier than usual and slept later than normal, until 2:30 AM last night. Begin to post my rounds, then found pages were loading forever.

Phoned Fairpoint, my phone and internet provider, to ask what was the problem. All the LED lights were lit yet dialog boxes of "Unable to connect" were seen repeatedly.

This happened on and off 3x. A Ping test at the command prompt told the story. 4 packets of info sent, 100% loss. It was my Ethernet cable. juggled it in the back of my desktop and then it worked fine. Still does.

Getting the car ready was a cinch w/the vinegar/isopropyl alcohol mix sprayed on the windshield the night before. Have a plastic tub built in under the windshield wipers to catch any runoff. Did not need to scrape at all.

My road was freshly sanded. Liked that a lot. Gas finally dropped to a reasonable $2.89 for far northern NH. This is the Smart Pay Card price, or 10¢ higher w.o.

Traveled to Littleton and saw the Yankee fan that is there every week at the same time as me. Wore my fire Red Sox winter jacket and made sure to stand where it could see. Asked him where is his cap today. He said no cap today.

Bought a few items x2 to last me two weeks. The mkt is closed all next week. Giant heads of leaf lettuce is $1.68 ea, avocadoes 3/$2, butternut squash 48¢a lb, crimini 10 oz for $2.25, broccoli crowns $1.28 a lb,

Yellow and orange bell peppers are $1.58 a lb (Passed on the red that was a whopping $2.95), black and blueberries 3/$5, cukes 67¢ ea, 5 lbs carrots $2.38 and a 1 lb bag of spinach for $3.

Big Papa's specials this week. Click on See more

Stopped at Rite Aid before 8:30 AM (They open at 8 AM) and saw a trail of shoe soil on the shiny tile floor from the front door to the pharmacy. Asked the cashier to mention it to the ast mgr.

Stopped at WM for a few items, then on to Shaw for the last day of pork country ribs for $2.19 a lb. Bought a 2.5 lb pkg to get me thru the w/e.

Returned to Rite Aid mainly to see if the cashier told the ast store mgr that the floor was dirty. She did not, said she forgot. :o

Trimmed the fat off the ribs at home, poured the remaining cooked ones in the 6 qt crock pot, then added my homemade BBQ sauce, sliced carrots and the ribs in the 1.5 qt size.

Poured 6 oz of honey on top of the ribs, plus 4 cloves of diced garlic. Slow cooked for 3.5 hours, then sampled the fresh made ribs. Tried a small amount of ketchup with the sauce and honey. Was a good experiment. A 'Small amount' of ketchup is the key.

Will be leaving early for the hospital on Monday for my hip replacement surgery. Friday looks to be the return home date. May convalesce at a friend's home, depending on my stair climbing ability. Sure would prefer to be home.

Civil twilight is 6:18 AM EST. Night is 4:45 PM.

Sunrise: 6:50 AM. Set: 4:13 PM.

Length of day: 9h 23m. Length of visible light: 10h 27m. Tomorrow will be 2m 01s shorter.

The temp is 17° (-8°C), the high will be 23° (-5°C), in clear skies.

Have a delightful day!

Hi SPG, in Buffalo, expecting 3 more feet, 10 killed. News said 7 feet, but think that was drifts. I will be generous, you can have it!

The exhaust pipes look like serious red neck pipes!

Stay warm buddy and have a safe weekendHi Midnight, know you are anxious to get this over with! That's the way I was, have sensitive spots on arm and numb thumb. Take time to grow back, I guess.
Did not remember Twilight Zone being on Netflix. Like that series. Still watching "the following", about 25 episodes left!

Have a good weekend and don't push youself

I don't know were you hear about that much snow here. I don't know ANYWERE that has that much snow! Here is a link with snow depths around the state. The most I see in the state is 18" in GURNEY. That is the -NORTH CENTRAL WIS.- part of the state. The 24" that is shown is in IRONWOOD, MICHIGAN. We are in the -NORTHEAST WIS.- section. Use the Crivitz amount (which is 7 miles north of us) to show you our snow depth. Right now it shows 4". We only have about 2"-3" here.

If the exhaust pipes on your car look something like this..............................you might be a redneck.

Good morning!

I ♥ Life!

Looking forward to the hip op. Monday is good. Tuesday will be Great!

More snow to greet first light. Only about a half inch fell. Forecast is for ambient snow each morning the rest of the week. All those minor amounts add up by the end of the week.

Could be a sleet storm on Sunday w/scattered rain showers overnight into Monday. Plan on leaving early Monday in the wee hours for the hospital. Will inch down the mtn if the town does not sand.

Enjoyed watching the Twilight Zone on Netflix, them another epi of Bonanza. Like The Zone for its unusual themed stories. Like Bonanza for its wholesomeness w/always the theme good triumphs over bad.

Played Starcraft to my hearts content. Had no time to play the day before. Got in a 3 hour nap, then decide to cook.

Sliced the last hearty thick chicken cutlet ½ inch thick, soaked them into a well beaten egg, battered it with Italian spices, parmesan and breadcrumbs w/oyster crackers broken up in thick chunks.

Topped them w/a six cheese Italian blend of cheeses and enjoyed a late lunch which will also be dinner. Was still hungry so a half pound of butterfly shrimp was prepared.

Much tastier than say pumpkin pie and icecream. Have planned the fresh food to last until entering the hospital on Monday. Will still shop at Big Papa's Market for fresh produce to last two weesk. They will not be open at all next week.

Civil twilight is 6:17 AM EST. Night is 4:46 PM.

Sunrise: 6:49 AM. Set: 4:14 PM.

Length of day: 9h 25m. Length of visible light: 10h 29m. Tomorrow will be 2m 04s shorter.

The temp is 21° (-6°C), the high will be 28 (-2°C).

Have a fantastic day!

Good morning!

I ♥ Life!

Excellent news to share. Details are below.

Woke up to a tad bit more than ambient snow. Big sized chunks. Glad that it did not last long. Enjoyed an early finish of my rounds, then got in a 2.5 hour nap. Felt refreshed when awake.

Got ready early for my 9:45 surgeon's appointment. Was not sure if the end of the driveway had a berm, if the town plowed the mtn road, or if the road was icy.

Had made a fresh spray bottle of 1 part water, 1 pt 91% isopropyl alcohol, and 3 pts white vinegar to take out to the car. Started the car w/a defrost on in the front side and rear windows.

Limped to the road to check it out. The town did plow over the past several days leaving softball sized snow/ice balls at the foot of the driveway. Traffic (use) of the road made it look safe to drive down the mtn.

Scrapped off an inch of frozen slush w/an inch or more of fresh snow on the windows. eased down the mtn at 10 mph in high first to use the gear as a brake. Did not see any sand or pebbles spread on the road.

Arrives 15 min early for my appointment and was taken into a private examining room. The Dr's Ast took my vitals. Loved seeing my BP 120 over 74.

The Dr entered had me lift up my blue jeans to look at the former infected area. As the cuff was lifted up my index finger tore into the shin flesh and it started to bleed.

Some gauze, a bit of triple antibiotic, and a bandaid stopped the bleeding. The Dr was happy the redness left and the cephalexin was working nicely to prevent any infection/cellulitis.

He gave me appointment in three weeks. Told him that sooner was good for me and time was of the essence. Any time soon is good for me.

He left the room for 10 minutes and returned to ask me. "How about this Monday, the 24th at 6:30 AM?" "Yes, that'll be just perfect."

Stayed later for the nurse to listen to my strong heart and give the okay for this Monday for the hip replacement. So it is now all set for Monday. Hurray!

Civil twilight is 6:15 AM EST. Night is 4:46 PM.

Sunrise: 6:47 AM. Set: 4:15 PM.

Length of day: 9h 27m. Length of visible light: 10h 30m. Tomorrow will be 2m 07s shorter.

The temp is 19° (-7°C), the high will be 27 (-3°C).

Have a fabulous day!

Good morning!

SPG, Confused you w/correcting, perhaps. Didn't you folks move north several y/a to be able to fish more? Do you ice fish also?

happy, My doc's appointment is 9:45 AM today. Will have a new surgery apmt if the mtn road is safe to inch down.

It snowed just like it was winter at first light yesterday. Ten cent and penny size chunks floating down from the clouds fast. It was good that it stopped two hours later.

The world in this area is a winter wonderland. It always looks so dreamy the first few snowfalls. Then the work to clear and clean it begins to take away some of the postcard perfect wonderment.

Played lots of Starcraft while it snowed. Also watched Bonanza and Criminal Minds. Did not even step outdoors. No need to.

Trimmed the fat off the $2.19 a pound country spare ribs bought on Saturday. Thawed out half of a 16 oz frozen container of homemade BBQ sauce made in October.

Added some evoo to my 1.5 qt crock pot, added some of the thawed sauce, ribs, red potatoes, some 3" sliced lengths of carrots, and 4 diced cloves of garlic. 3.5 hours on high and lunch was ribs and veggies, on a bed of brown rice.

The rest of the week will not see day temps above freezing. There is a possibility of Sunday being in the mid 30's. Winter arrived 5 weeks early this year. Hope spring is early as well.

Civil twilight is 6:14 AM EST. Night is 4:47 PM.

Sunrise: 6:46 AM. Set: 4:15 PM.

Length of day: 9h 29m. Length of visible light: 10h 32m. Tomorrow will be 2m 10s shorter.

The temp is 28° (-2°C), the high,w/ a 30% chance of snow.

Have a wonderful day!

Midnight ~ Not Kenosha area. That is south of Milwaukee. We are about 45 miles north of Green Bay & about 16 miles west of Marinette.

If the Ferris wheel in your neighborhood looks something like this....................................you might be a redneck.

Good morning!

I ♥ Life!

SPG, Have 6 propane places. All their prices are high. Thank you for explaining about propane in the Kenosha area. Am glad gasoline and propane are far less cost than 1 year ago.

Will see both shows all over again. Sure do love the nostalgia

Have been enjoying season 1 of Bonanza after my early morning rounds. Great to be able to see the ones that were missed or forgotten. Also seeing the orig Star Trek w/Bones, Scotty, and the cast. Fabulous nostalgia.

Forecast is for snow on Monday. Took a ride to Lancaster to buy at Shaw's weekly special 26-30 frozen raw shrimp $7.99 a lb, country pork ribs $2.19alb, haddock for $5.99 a lb, and a supreme rising pizza 33.5 oz for $4.99.

Wanted a grand selection of meal w/deals. What is great about the winter is that if the freezer is full mY outside fridge unplugged will hold the overstock during these teen and 20 degrees nights and days.

Returned home with thy bounty and made a 2 qt Pyrex bowl of homemade chicken noodle soup via all cooked in the microwave.

Am using diced onion, garlic, chives, celery, carrots, orange bell peppers, chicken breast, then add broccoli and spinach later along with wheat spaghetti for the pasta noodles.

Not a grain of salt is added or needed. Mrs Dash is added. Golden milled flax seed thickens the soup, adds fiber and more nutrients to this wonderfully healthy winter delight that fills one up w/little calories.

Ideal for any weight loss program. About 1 lb loss per month in my case.

My doc's appointment is tomorrow at 9:45 AM, not today. Jumped the gun.

Civil twilight is 6:13 AM EST. Night is 4:48 PM.

Sunrise: 6:45 AM. Set: 4:16 PM.

Length of day: 9h 31m. Length of visible light: 10h 34m. Tomorrow will be 2m 12s shorter.

The temp is 30° (-1°C) w/the high to be 39° (4°C). Ice pellets today, scattered snow showers tomorrow.

Have a pleasant day!

Hi SPG, now, that was funny!

Saw this at VA Beach site and think you will get a laugh out of it.

A blonde driving a car became lost in a snowstorm. She didn't panic however, because she remembered what her dad had once told her. "If you ever get stuck in a snowstorm, just wait for a snow plow to come by and follow it." Sure enough, pretty soon a snow plow came by, and she started to follow it. She followed the plow for about forty-five minutes. Finally the driver of the truck got out and asked her what she was doing. And she explained that her dad had told her if she ever got stuck in a snow storm, to follow a plow. The driver nodded and said, "Well, I'm done with the Wal-Mart parking lot, do you want to follow me over to Best Buy now?" :>)))

Hi Midnight, Think I saw pretty near every Bonanza and Gunsmoke! Yep, she was a beauty!

Stay warm Any op date yet?

Midnight ~ There is only 1 co. up here that makes you buy your own tank. Some company's charge rent & some don't. The one we have right now does not charge rent on their tank. There are about a dozen different place to chose from so the competition is tight. Paying ahead saves .10/gal. plus it locks in our price so we don't get gouged when the price goes up or there is a shortage.

If you've ever gone fishing like this guy.................................you might be a redneck.

Have a super Sunday guys!

Good morning!

I ♥ Life!

Think your prices may be a bit higher just because it is Va Beach. Giving you the advertised loss leader on sale prices. There reg price is sky high.

Had a pleasant time watching Season 1 Epi 1 of Bonanza. It is the second longest running western series (behind Gunsmoke) ever. Bonanza ran from September 12, 1959, to January 16, 1973. Lasting 14 seasons and 430 episodes.

Pleasing to see a very young and stunning Yvonne De Carlo in this epi. She sure was a beauty in her day.

Yvonne was born Margaret Yvonne Middleton on September 1, 1922 at West Point Grey, Vancouver, British Columbia. She passed away of heart failure on January 8, 2007 (aged 84) in Woodland Hills, near Los Angeles, California.

In 1954, director Cecil B. DeMille cast her as Sephora, the wife of Moses (played by Charlton Heston), in his biblical epic "The Ten Commandments" (1956). In 1960, she was awarded two stars (for motion picture and television) on the Hollywood Walk of Fame

It was in 1964 that she signed a contract with Universal Studios to perform the female lead role in "The Munsters" opposite Fred Gwynne. Yvonne played Lily Munster, Herman Munster's wife.

Fred Gwynne, (July 10, 1926 – July 2, 1993) a Harvard University graduate, Class of 1951, is best known for his role in the 1960s sitcom "Car 54, Where Are You?," as well as his later roles in "Pet Sematary," "The Cotton Club" and "My Cousin Vinny."

Went to the P.O. to pick up a weeks worth of mail. Then bought the w/e sale items at Shaws: 6 Italian cheese 8 oz for $1.79, large brown eggs 99¢ Essential brand pasta 50¢each. Only got the wheat penne, rotini, and spaghetti.

Civil twilight is 6:011 AM EST. Night is 4:50 PM.

Sunrise: 6:42 AM. Set: 4:18 PM.

Length of day: 9h 36m. Length of visible light: 10h 39m. Tomorrow will be 2m 18s shorter.

The temp is 13° (-11°C) w/the high to be 37° (3°C).

Have a splendid day!

Good morning!

I ♥ Life!

SPG, Know propane in the midwest is about $1 less thanhere.Don't you have to supply the tanks? We pay a rental fee in the gas price to use the new tanks the Co sets up.

happy, Somehow forgot to visit yesterday. It was unintentional.

Had a fun morning watching The Andy Griffith Show, The Walking Dead, and Criminal Minds after the posts and rounds in the morning.

Daybreak saw my entire world covered in a blanket of snow. Always do like the first real snow fall. Nothing had to be cleaned up. About 1½ inch greeted the day.

Expect more snow on Sunday evening righty into Monday night. Not sure what that total will be yet. Snow usually does not stick around until After T-Day. there are exceptions in any given year.

Made a shopping list for the 3 day w/e sale at Shaw's and for their weekly sale. Plan to buy haddock for $5.99 a lb, 6 big rolls of paper towels for $3.99, Large eggs $1a dozen.

May even buy extra large raw shrimp for just $7.99 a lb. The Country pork spare ribs have my interest at only $2.9 a lb for the week. Will have to go out tomorrow to get my mail and check the local gas prices.

Make a small amount of homemade chicken noodle soup. Had slow cooked the celery and carrots in the crock pot the day before. Boiled some garlic, onions, and Mrs Dash flavored water.

Cubed in some chicken breast along w/ diced green beans, crimini, the celery, carrots and added some cooked brown rice. Also added milled flaxseed for fiber and to thicken the soup. A great way to stay warm and loose some pounds this winter.

Played StarCraft II for hours. In fact got lost in time, just what was wanted. Really dig this action packed game with real time strategies. Lots of action, excitement, and war. Actual screenshot of the combat.

Civil twilight is 6:011 AM EST. Night is 4:50 PM.

Sunrise: 6:42 AM. Set: 4:18 PM.

Length of day: 9h 36m. Length of visible light: 10h 39m. Tomorrow will be 2m 18s shorter.

The temp is 21° (-6°C) w/the high to be 32° (0°C). Light snow falls.

Have a tremendous day!

Good morning!

I ♥ Life!

Scrape is clean, infection is gone. Must wait until it is healed. Have triple antiseptic on it. Follow up is on Monday. Hope to have a day then. More waiting. Doggone it!

Will try the Following again. Tried it and lost interest.

Woke up at 1:30 AM, (this morning as well) had another great night of deep sleep, and felt refreshed in the wee hours. Enjoyed posting early and completing my rounds. Had plenty of time to see an epi of Criminal Minds, CSI: Miami and some laughs watching The Andy Griffith Show and Everyone Loves Raymond.

Had ordered propane on Now 9.Was promised delivery on the 10th. Here it is 9 days later and no delivery. Phoned the Main office of my propane co to find out what the delay was.

Had just returned inside from reading the fill meter on the tank w/one tank reading 1%. Most Co's now have a $90 (or more) charge to pump air in one's propane system and test for leaks. Sure wanted to avoid this extra charge

The woman phoned the satellite office in town and found out that my ticket for the delivery was for Monday the 10th. She would cell phone the driver.

He called and asked if a delivery could wait for Friday. At 1% and below freezing temps on the way, the answer was "No." He said he would deliver sometime yesterday morning. Told him it was urgent, and he said will drive here immediately.

Some 30 minutes later he arrived. Filled my two 120 gallon tanks which can hold 96 gallons each. He staged a cock and bull story about being in VT at the end of the day Monday. YehDiddy, yehdiddy.

Said right to him, "Let me tell you how much of your story is believed. Not one word." Negotiated w/him to fill my two BBQ 4 gallon propane tanks. He in turn asked me if the snowthrower could be used to clear a path to the big tanks this winter.

Chuckled and told him yes. Do remember him arriving a couple of days early last winter and trugging thru a snow depth above waist high. Have to make a path to throw the snow against the bottom of the house for extra insulation.

Propane cost was very low this year. Price is down to $2.579 per gallon. Rec'd 171.9 gallons and a $433.33 bill. Will also receive $.10 off a gallon when paying w/in 10 days. My two tanks have exceeded $600 to fill them in recent years.

Enjoyed several morning walks in the gardens until 10 AM when the rain arrived. Had mostly light, steady rain all day. The forecast changed from 50% to an 80% chance of rain. Good to rain before the ground freezes for the winter and keep the water table high.

Had an exceeding wonderful time playing Starcraft II for hours and hours. At one point several races allied w/each other and attacked me powerfully. Almost annihilated my force and did begin to devastate my base camp. Makes for a truly realistic condition. Fun while it is raining.

The ISS orbits the sky over the East Coast this morning for the next several days. See the ISS and other satellites in your area.

Civil twilight is 6:08 AM EST. Night is 4:52 PM.

Sunrise: 6:39 AM. Set: 4:20 PM.

Length of day: 9h 40m. Length of visible light: 10h 43m. Tomorrow will be 2m 22s shorter.

The temp is 28° (-2°C) w/the high to be 41° (5°C) in mostly cloudy skies.

Off to the market for some light shopping later.

Have a fantastic day!

Hope all y'all will have a good and warm night. Was a pleasant 64º today, but calling for 40's tomorrow. bet you would like to have our temps! :>))

Midnight, when are you rescheduled? Know you hate to go thru that long time with no water/food.
Finished season 1 of the Following. The writer must have a weird mind, but is good series.

Cast comes off Tomorrow at 10:30, which is only 12 more hours! yeaaaaaaaaaa

We haven't been home all day to wish our GB Vets a Happy Veterans day. Was in Williamsburg all afternoon touring and waiting for 4pm Vets parade. Marched in the parade, first time I have marched in over 50 years. When we went by a large group clapping and yelling, made me even prouder than I have been about my military service. Hope you and all our GB Vets had a great veterans day.

Snow, couldn't help but laugh at your dog! The snow must make you "happy"!Now dress warn out there!!

Have a happy 2sday

Midnight, Missed ISS again, rained this morning and rained lightly this after noon.
That is bad, now waiting again, just because of a scrape! Get this over with doc!! Have a good afternoon

Good morning!

I ♥ Life!

A complication occurred during pre-op. Details are below.

Was at my dad's bedside when he passed. Renal failure. Mom lived 162 miles away. She passed in her sleep 3 weeks before 91 y/o. Thank you for the prayers. Needed them.

Slept extremely well until just after 2:30 AM yesterday morning. (2:45 this morning.) Showered, then rubbed Hibiclens neck to toe and allowed this skin antiseptic to remain on for 5 minutes to sterilize. It was then rinsed off.

Per instruction wore loose fitting clothes and socks w/tennis shoes. Made a travel kit out of my camera gear bag. Hair products, comb, and such. Left with a ton of reading material.

Arrived well before 4:30 AM for my 8 AM prep. Same Day surgery had my paperwork and it was read and signed. Sat in the waiting room and read. Then read some more. No many arrived until 6:30 AM

At 8 AM a nurse took me to the Same Day surgery ward on the 3rd floor. My first time above the ground floor. Changed into a johnny gown and slipper socks.

Vitals were taken and passed as good as it gets. Will confess a bit of anxiety was present. Then had a 'bair hugger' placed over me. To keep one nicely warm. This is major surgery.

An IV was tried on the back of my left hand. Told the nurse that even those w/30 years experience had trouble finding a vein. The back of the right hand saw success in finding the vein. PTL!

At least 30 minutes of Q's with the op nurse w/Q's asked again w/diff wording, like they are testing one to see if they have all their marbles.

The anesthesiologist gave me the another 20 Q/s and asked if a spinal was wanted. Said yes to spare my mind the shock of feeling the extreme pain. Was apprehensive on a needle being inserted in my spine.

He said there will be no feeling of the needle inserted in my back. Also he said, "We have a variety of tools to make me want a spinal. Said that is not doubted, yet not so sure feeling like having a spinal is ever wanted."

Then the orthopedic surgeon came to visit and exam me. There was a ¼" scrape on my right shin that was obviously red and infected. Three surgeons were called to exam this.

They all concluded that w/my history of cellulitis, the swelling and redness of the tiny scab, an infection is brewing. Surgery was cancelled until a script of 40 cephalexin 500 mg 4x a day for 10 days was finished.

It was 10 AM by now. 18 hours w/o food. Yet to me most importantly 18 hours w/o water. Surgeon told me to make a follow up appointment in one week. Time to get dressed, leave the hospital, and get the script filled.

Good Heavens! Of all things, a complication, and still a further delay. Shaking my head. Will go with the flow.

Found an interesting estimate of the cost of a hip replacement. W/Ins it in the $12,000 to $24,000 range. The procedure could be 2.5 hours, w/up to 4 and 5 hours of surgery.

Had a pound of popcorn shrimp for lunch, made at home. Needed a treat for this hungry fellow that had not eaten in 19+ hours. Spinach al dente on the side w/lots of evoo and diced garlic.

The ISS orbits the sky over the East Coast in the mornings for the next several days. See the ISS and other satellites in your area.

Civil twilight is 6:06 AM EST. Night is 4:54 PM.

Sunrise: 6:37 AM. Set: 4:32 PM.

Length of day: 9h 45m. Length of visible light: 10h 48m. Tomorrow will be 2m 26s shorter.

The temp is 28° (-2°C) w/the high to be 54° (12°C) in clear skies.

Have a wonderful day!
