I ♥ Life

Hi doc, good to hear from you. Very hot in Florida, 97 last 4 days, but no rain on us. Have a good week

Midnight, the key came out of my pocket, the hotel key card was found in my seat and given to me. Not knowing my key was not there, thanked the guy and left. We to Sea World this morning and talked with them and showed them wife's key so they know what it looks like. Said the look under the loops daily for lost stuff.

Is Orange worth watching? Don't know anything about it.

Haven't seen the first weed, but we have lots of the second one and like it.

Wife raises the marigolds of different colors and plants them around garden every year.

I baked in the sun again today at Busch Gardens in Tampa. Back to Aquatica again tomorrow for last day here, but will have flops tomorrow. Friday we leave and going by to see wife's sister near Ocala, then half way home. Stopping in NC to visit my last 3 Aunts.

Have a good day tomorrow

Good morning!

I ♥ Life!

Oh no, what a key to loose. On a loop the keys could go flying anywhere. Sad to learn of this. Hope the keys are found.

Need 3 sets of glasses. Loose them often.

Gosh hot pavement on bare feet is quite the memory for me.

Saw an episode of "Orange is the New Black" yesterday morning. A privileged NY'er is sent to a women's prison for a crime committed in her past. In the Emmy Award winning comedy/drama series.

Two seasons of this show are on Netflix, the producer of the series, and a 3rd season is being filmed for release next July.

Went outdoors early. Ripped or dug crab grass that was beginning to grow in my gardens. Also pulled the jewel weed that grows so rapidly.

Also cut down many sword like 2" leaves and stalks of crocosmia lucifer that the rain laid flat a few days ago. It was smuffing out the sunlight of neighboring perennials and would have killed the lawn.

Found room that was 2' x 1' for a dozen flowers. Hightailed it to Sullivan Greenhouses where two 6 pack mixed marigold were on sale at half price. Two for $2.50.

Returned home to see how root bound the marigolds were. Used the blunt blade of a scissors to twist out the tangled roots. This method worked nicely and quickly.

Have the assorted colors of the dozen in the ground. Sprayed two small blocks of wood w/deer and rabbit repellent and added two scent containers on either ends.

Moved the front half of the lawn. The amount of twigs and leaves amazed me from the rain storm a few days ago. The mower did get only half of them. Will have to pick the twigs by hand. 100's of them.

Sat in the sun, added lots of deep tanning lotion, and read a book. Could hear something in the distance thrashing around in the forest. In fact looked up several times. It was a racoon, which was promptly chased away.

Civil twilight is 5:23 AM EDT. Night is 8:14 PM.

Sunrise: 5:54 AM. Set: 7:43 PM.

Length of day: 14h 48m. Length of visible light: 15h 50m. Tomorrow will be 2m 50s shorter.

The temp is 52° (11°C), the high is to be 79° (26°C) in clear skies.

Have a fabulous day!

Midnight, lost another. Will have wife download lazarus tomorrow.

I'm in the doghouse now, lost the electronic key to our car. On a ride at sea world, getting off, a worker came to me and said hotel key card was in the seat. Shallow pockets, maybe car key came out and fell to ground on one of the loops. They are something like $350 to replace. Going to check tomorrow.
Tomorrow, we are headed to Tampa and Busch Gardens with grand kids.

I liked Raymond. Good comedy.
No shoes, left them in locker. Did go back and get them when my feet started burning.

Always had transition lens, only 1 set to keep up with.
Take care of that hip!

Have a good day tomorrow
Have always said that on specials, food can sit on my shelf just as easy as on theirs.

Good morning!

I ♥ Life!

The space bar and the Enter for a new paragraph have lost my posts. Have left here several times the link for Lazarus Form Recovery. Pick your O/S link. Click on the icon in the message box and your former post appears. Good until the pc is off.

Can remeber 97 degrees on the Beach Blvd. No shoes is burning hot. Why no shoes?

Got lots of laughs watching 2 episodes of "Everybody Loves Raymond." Need an early morning laughter to cleanse the soul and face the pleasing day of sun.

No time to even think of a nap. Had an 8:15 appointment with the Littleton Hospital Ophthalmologist. Here is a man that does it all w/one's eyes, including laser surgery. Truly my first appointment in 40 years.

Asked for rec'd a photocopy of my last visit that documents ocular migraine and copies of all the other tests performed. Have a clean bill of eye health.

Got my eyes measured and checked for roundness and depth. Sphere is equal, cylindrical is a close .25 difference and the axis is .005 dif. Have 20/40 vision and my first eye glass prescription since 1974.

Own three sets of eye glasses. Two are clear plastic, one of them is a transition lens in the sunlight. One is permanently a prescription sunglass w/UV protection. Ideal for the snow covered mtns.

Bought four cans of condensed cream of mushroom soup at WM. Their Great value brand was $1.25 ea. Passed on the 2 lb bay shrimp and the 41-50 large shrimp. Did buy another 8 lb bag of epsom salts for $5.43.

Ent next door to Shaw's and saw their Essential brand of condensed cream of mushroom soup was on sale for 75¢ a can. Bought 8 cans and two cream of chicken.

Also bought a 2 lb frozen pkg of imitation crab for $1/99 a lb. An elderly lady spoke to me on the cost of meat, poultry and seafood that has increased tremendously.

Listened to her and them told her the only way to save is stock up and freeze the on sale items. She agreed w/me completely. Returned to WM and got my money back for the cans of condensed soup. Shaw's was 40% less.

Returned home to place the items away then went outdoors. Did lots of garden maintenance in the sun. Decided all 6 of the perennials bout and transplanted were not in the direct sun they needed.

Made a paper plan to move them later in the morning. Considered mowing the lawn. My hip hurt way too much from use in the hospitals and in the stores to mow. Will mow later on.

Civil twilight is 5:22 AM EDT. Night is 8:16 PM.

Sunrise: 5:53 AM. Set: 7:45 PM.

Length of day: 14h 51m. Length of visible light: 15h 53m. Tomorrow will be 2m 49s shorter.

The temp is 48° (9°C), the high is to be 73° (23°C), w/sunny skies later.

Have a wonderful day!

posting tonight, hit the space bar and it went away.
On "the baby is here, we are going on vacation for a week. He is on the way"!! Duh, was really tired, almost midnight, baby was born Saturday about 4:30pm.

Today, went to Aquatica, a Sea world water park, with step son, his wife and our 2 youngest grand kids. Was 97 Degrees and the walk way was hot. No shoes and had to run to shade or wet walkway. Love the river drift, just float around. Sat by the pool tonight watching grand kids play water volly ball with others, and listened to the DJ music.

Going to Sea World tomorrow.
have a good week

Good morning!

I ♥ Life!

Would imagine you are on the road somewhere.

Went out after my posts in the morning to cover the containers of scent. There was mist/light rain. A trace of .01 in was rec'd.

Returned inside to watch an episode of "Lost Girl" and lie down for a while. Was drained from the 1 AM wake up. Tried to sleep, could not. Took a walk in the gardens to see the flowers, fruit, and plants.

Played some land and air battles w/the three species on StarCraft: Brood War. Hoped the lawn would dry out to mow. It did not. Went to the Recycling Center, P.O. and then to Shaw's.

Passed on the $7.99 large cooked shrimp 41-50 per lb., 14 oz. Visited my pal the meat mgr in Whitefield to see if there were any big deals. None, even hamburger increased by 30¢.

The main office told him to increase the meat prices. All meat, poultry, and seafood prices have increased by 33% in the last few months. Am glad my freezer is well stocked food.

Decided against driving to WM just to price shrimp. Nothing else wasme. needed. Figured it is $7 just to drive there and return home. Will think of other items needed to make a trip worthwhile.

Boiled in the microwave ⅓ lb of linguine, drained well, a pour of evoo, diced garlic, Mrs Dash, a half can of cream of mushroom soup, with thick slices of cooked baby bella and broccol added to the pasta.

It went well with a part of a chicken breast. Will have it for 4-6 more meals.

Rain early in the afternoon drove my inside. Nice to get caught up with paperwork and some light house cleaning.

Civil twilight is 5:19 AM EDT. Night is 8:19 PM.

Sunrise: 5:51 AM. Set: 7:48 PM.

Length of day: 14h 57m. Length of visible light: 15h 59m. Tomorrow will be 2m 47s shorter.

The temp is 54° (12°C), the high is to be 66° (19°C), w/a 50% chance of rain now in overcast skies.

Have a splendid day!

Good morning!

I ♥ Life!

$21 a year is a bargain. Baby is here AND on the way? Missing something reading this. What are you saying with "here AND on the way/"

You drive will be excellent w/a stop in GA and 42 mpg. That is living well.

Woke up at 1 AM yesterday, did my rounds, watched an episode of Law and Order, then took a 90 minute nap. Was nice and refreshed when it was noticed that the time was 7 AM. Lots of day left.

Went outside to pick up the remaining sticks and branches the storm had left the other day. Had done only half the property the day before. Made a good size pile that will be super for kindling.

The battery was installed in the Neon. Nice to see the dome light come on and the ding sound that the door was open. Turned the key and it did not crank. Will have my buddy's son looks at the two possible causes this w/e.

The lawn was so wet from dew the night before it sparkled in the sun. Decided to go for a drive and allow the sun and wind to dry the grass. Headed for the P.O. and rec'd some bills with lots free cc offers.

Went to Shaws for their Wicked Awesome 3 Day w/e sale. Saw cooked large shrimp for $7.99 41-50 per lb., 14 oz. bag. Will compare that to WM prices during the w/e.

Did find two excellent deals. Cappicola (Spicy Hot Italian ham) was on sale for just $2.99 a lb. Both both pkgs that were discounted, as they were the near ends of the loaf and sliced.

Saw a loaf of Scala bread that expires today marked down to $1.50 a one pound loaf. Had a plastic knife in the car just for these emergencies. Cut off two slabs of that soft tender bread and made a fabulous cold cut sammie.

Was going to visit my pal at his store in Whitefield. Then changed my mind to go to Sullivan's Greenhouses. Talked to the young gal who was met two weeks ago.

Bought 6 pint (4") perennials of 2 each of Rudbeckia-hirta, Echinacea-magnus, and Blanket flower (gaillardia grandiflora). Returned home, put the food away , then prepared and planted the perennials.

They are in the 24-30" and 30-36" size when matured in three years. Easily worth the $7.50 paid for all 6. Mowed half the more difficult half of the lawn, then returned inside for a treat of grapes.

Civil twilight is 5:18 AM EDT. Night is 8:21 PM.

Sunrise: 5:50 AM. Set: 7:50 PM.

Length of day: 14h 59m. Length of visible light: 15h 02m. Tomorrow will be 2m 45s shorter.

The temp is 54° (12°C), the high is to be 71° (22°C), in partly cloudy skies w/lots of sun.

Have a tremendous day!

I ♥ Life

Hi Midnight, well, free for local residences this week only, and, if you want to join for a year, it was $21 each, which we did.

Thanks Midnight, the baby is here, we are going on vacation for a week. He is on the way!! :>))) We stop near Georgia for the night. 780+- miles. We did this end of January with trailer and I had to do all the driving, wife don't do the truck. Taking car this time, save on gas, truck with trailer gets 12mpg and hybrid gets 42mpg running with the traffic.

Last week, we lost power, but I didn't. Generator kicked right in.

Missed ISS again, maybe will be able to see it tomorrow

Have a GR8 weekend

Good morning!

I ♥ Life!

Would enjoy a tour of colonial Williamsburg. Free is the best cost.

Your drive sounds like a Long 1 day and a better two day drive. Hope the baby is born while you are there. Best wishes and have a safe trip tomorrow!

The ISS orbits twice 9:09/10:45 tonight and tomorrow night 8:20/9:46 in some areas.

At 5 AM my power went off yesterday morning. Phoned the Public Service Company of New Hampshire to tell the Co that my power went off. A pre-recorded message stated many communities surrounding me had no electricity.

Decided to go back to sleep with the power returning in 10 minutes. The quickest it returned in many years.

The rain rec'd Wednesday peaked at 4:30 PM with .40" an hour falling. The wind gust reached 18 mph (28 km/h). The rain rec'd was an inch. Went outdoors to see the rugged cherry tree 16' from the house split off and tipped over.

Saw many branches and tips of trees blown on my lawn, the mtn road, and on the hwy on the way to Littleton. Two trees that were across the highway were removed earlier with debris and sawdust piles from chainsaws present.

At Big Papa's Market (prices and photos) brought were giant cantaloupes $1.75 ea, pints of raspberries $1.67, tomatoes $1 a lb, 5 lbs of carrots are $2.75, and broccoli crowns $1.38.

Also bought were limes 5/$1, lemons 3/$2, oranges 50¢ ea, green beans $1.18 a lb, cilantro $1.33, parsley $1, spinach $3 a lb, and baby bellas $2.25 for 10 oz.

Temps have been in the mid 60's (C) all week sunny w/ just 2 days of rain. Love these temps the best, unlike places with temps of 102° (39°C), such as bloody Fresno has — each and every day.

Love the mild temps of New England, the congenial country folks, livin' so wonderfully rural, and down to Earth, andthe lower cost of living that is so pleasing.

Often am reminded of "The Good Life", (a movie and TV series), it is a philosophical term for the life that one would like to live, originally associated with Aristotle.

Civil twilight is 5:17 AM EDT. Night is 8:23 PM.

Sunrise: 5:49 AM. Set: 7:51 PM.

Length of day: 14h 02m. Length of visible light: 15h 05m. Tomorrow will be 2m 45s shorter.

The temp is 50° (10°C), the high is to be 65° (18°C), w/a 40% chance of rain now in overcast skies.

Have a delightful day!

Nice day today, we went to Williamsburg for the free day of touring. And, for $21 each, go now have a year pass, normally about $80. Interesting tours.

Yep, we are leaving Saturday, sometime. Will wait until 2-3pm to see if she goes. But need to leave around then. We have to stop overnight anyway, 780 miles. Can't check in until 4pm Sunday. Be back following Thursday or Friday. At least wife can help drive, she don't do the truck!

Yes, enjoyed our day

Have a good weekend

Good morning!

I ♥ Life!

Do love this area. No big cities, just beautiful rural country. Looked at the stars tonight. Moon is still too bright for meteor watching.

Hope natural birth will happen when the baby is ready. The mom will know. You are going to drive to Fla this w/e? What a ride!

Enjoyed playing Starcraft: Brood War. It is the expansion pack for the award winning military science fiction, real-time strategy video game StarCraft. Floats my boat since 1998. Adventure, action, and my all time favorite: War.

Did want to nap, fought the fatigue from the 1 AM rise. Picked some dime size blueberries and examined the plants for those japanese beetles. Covered the containers of ammonia and my scent.

Returned inside to add the contents of the crock pot into the 2 quart pyrex. Washed the crock pot, then added four of the six boneless skinless chicken breasts bought Sunday for a great price of $1.69 a lb.

Added a can of condensed cream of mushroom soup, some carrots, 5 red potatoes, and the last of the green beans. Decided to do my laundry then drive to Littleton to buy a battery for the Neon.

WM was jammed like it was Saturday. Long lines in 10 open check out counters. Bought several other items then went to the SCM desk. After an amazing 15 minute wait, the battery was purchased and the core, brought into the store was credited on my account.

Bougth a think and stocky mini notebook w/200 pages and plastic covers, called a 'fatbook' for just 97¢. 9" x 11" ruled notebooks were on sale for only 17¢ ea. Bought a gallon of Rain X. It coats the dry car glass windshield like it was telfon. Rain bounces off of it.

The 32-40 shrimp to a lb was out as was the 8 lb pkg of epsom salt. Instead of stocking on black pepper, two original Mrs Dash containers were bought for $2.38 each Black pepper retailed for 50 ¢.

Went to Shaw's to buy an end of deli roast beef for $4.99 a lb and green grapes for $1.47 a lb. Also bought another 10 6 oz cans of Bumble Bee Chunk White Tuna in water for 69¢ ea. Love tuna, especially at that price.

It sure did rain like mad on the way home. WUnderground stats read .25" an hour. in my 40 min drive. Needed to slow down to 40 at times. The hwy was difficult to see clearly.

Checked for plant damage. There was none. Everything is getting a drink. Left a hat in the rain to wash it on the gentle cycle. Will go out after my post, wash the car, and allow the rain to rinse it off. Lots of fun.

Civil twilight is 5:16 AM EDT. Night is 8:24 PM.

Sunrise: 5:47 AM. Set: 7:53 PM.

Length of day: 14h 05m. Length of visible light: 15h 08m. Tomorrow will be 2m 43s shorter.

The temp is 56° (13°C), the high is to be 65° (18°C), w/a 90% chance of sun in partly cloudy skies. Off to the market for some light shopping.

Have a fantastic day!

Midnight, still waiting! She is soooo big, I feel sorry for her. Son in law told me tonight that if she doesn't go into labor by Monday, he will induce her. She does not want that and we agree with her. We plan on leaving early Saturday for Florida, but will wait until 4-5 pm, then we have to drive!

The town of Bath, that is where my brother lives!! Oh, in North Carolina! That picture with tranquil waters is very relaxing.

Did not see the moon, nor the meteors due to cloudy sky.

Have a good night

Good morning!

I ♥ Life!

Overcast is here now. Only shows seen here is either PBS or Netflix. Or the meteorites and heavens.

Watched an episode of "Breaking Bad" and "Orange is the New Black." Then took a 90 minute nap. Decided to drive to the Super WM in Woodsville and buy some food items that my local one does not carry.

It was a pleasant drive down scenic Rt 302 east through rural towns named Lisbon, Lyman, Bath and Woodsville. Mostly vast farms with corn growing are see. Also saw many wildflowers of all colors in bloom on the sides of the road.

The Town of Bath wooden bridge is still being refurbished. From its quaint downtown, it looks to be ready for the autumn tourist season. The Ammonoosuc River was so beautiful and peaceful. A pair of ducks frolicked in its tranquil waters.

Fought oncoming hunger while passing the Subway section of that WM. Stopped at the Gold House in Littleton Take a peek at their menu and scroll down to see their low prices.

My choice was a fantastic Steak and cheese special w/onions, peppers, and mushrooms. A rich 12" long feast for just $7.39 plus tax. Grand total only $8.06. The biggest and best in the area.

Civil twilight is 5:14 AM EDT. Night is 8:26 PM.

Sunrise: 5:46 AM. Set: 7:54 PM.

Length of day: 14h 07m. Length of visible light: 15h 11m. Tomorrow will be 2m 42s shorter.

Good morning!

I ♥ Life!

The ISS orbits over every latitude and longitude so the cameras can view all of Earth. More info.

The ISS orbits by twice early tonight on the East Coast, northern America, and in BC Canada. Look for it in your area.

Saw the pilot of a TV show that has been on my interest list for many months on Netflix. Like the way the pilot was edited to get the viewers attention with plenty of action. Then go back to the correct time line.

The show is "Breaking Bad." A high school chemistry teacher dying of terminal cancer teams with a former student to manufacture and sell high grade crystal methedrine to secure his family's future.

One of the strangest story lines ever. Rottentomatoes.com (the put down site) gives this a rare 100% score from its tough critics and a 99% viewer approval. Will see the 2nd episode and keep an open mind.

Went outdoors mid morning to water the plants and check on things. Looks like a bunny found my lowest cluster of near orange tomatoes tasty. It dined on three and left half of the fourth.

Sprayed some short wood pieces w/rabbit and deer repellent (has a rotten egg smell for an hour then goes away, it still remains potent) and placed them on the tomato mounds. My first year having a tomato harvest in August. Very happy with the preparation, care, and results.

Brought a step ladder to stand up around the fenced in 10' x 10' garden. It has chicken wire sides, then overhead and sides covered with ¾ nylon mesh. Sure does keep the birds out.

The Concord grape vine took off this summer and began to cover the four sides and all across the overhead netting. Needed the ladder to reach across the top to cut and put the vines off.

The tendrils wrap rugged and all had to be snipped off. Strawberries and green beans are now in 100% light.

Hope to one day have a super grape harvest. Will expand the east and west sides w/a trellis like addition. Even a wire strung 10' on each side is enough. Plan on it for next spring.

Civil twilight is 5:13 AM EDT. Night is 8:28 PM.

Sunrise: 5:45 AM. Set: 7:56 PM.

Length of day: 14h 10m. Length of visible light: 15h 14m. Tomorrow will be 2m 40s shorter.

The temp is 61° (16°C) with the high to be 78° (26°C) in clear skies.

Have a wonderful day!

Midnight, that is great grandson #2, not yet! Hoping last Tuesday, my BD, hoping today, daughters BD (grandma)! He is being stubborn.

Text deleted was a bunch of "s", had dosed a moment, but must have been auto deleted.

Just went out to look for ISS, little cloudy & a lot of tall trees. Thinking it runs south to north? Missed the super moon last night, saw one coming back from funeral last month, huge and bright moon.

Can't make me hungry tonight, had a lot of leftovers from last nights BD party. Then about half hour, wife asked if I wanted a piece of my BD cake, yep!! Was about 12"X14" chocolate cake, with 2lg chocolate mousse filling and chocolate buttercream icing with big flag made with icing. She brought the biggest piece in there and 3 scoops of ice cream.

Have a good night

Have a good week

Look for the ISS tonight at 10:45 on the East Coast and twice tomorrow evening early. Times of all satellites for all of North America.

Removed the pork chops and veggies from the crockpot, cleaned it, then added 1.5 pounds of country style pork ribs marinated with Ah So sauce. Aso three pork chops, few red potatoes, 1 lb of carrots, and 1¼ lbs of green beans were added.

Went outdoors at 9 AM and loaded 5 cairns (stacks of rocks) in my wheelbarrow and brought about 50% to pile in the side of the ditches at the end of my driveway.

That way if anyone by chance runs off the edge of my driveway, they have an excellent chance of returning to the road. Wheelbarrowed so many trips that the count was lost. Quite the workout.

Had begun stacking the cairns two summers ago. Was a fabulous morning to rid the property of extra granite that were in the 40-50 lb (18 to 22 kg) yield. NH grows lots of granite. Seems mostly to be on my property.

Began to heavily prune my Concord grape vine. Tho it is a spring tradition, vines were running across the nylon netting restricting sun to the strawberries and green bean plants.

Did see a few grapes, still green, on the vines. Battled the Japanese beetles with a container of soapy spray and a dusting of Sevin. Also shaking off the beetles into a container of soapy water lowers the population. Am often reminded, "The rules of fair play do not apply in love and war."

Had a delicious lunch of veggies w tender ribs, a part of a chop on the side, along w/a healthy salad of green leaf lettuce, spinach, pineapple chunks, three berries, squares of cheddar, black olives, cuke slices, baby bella, cottage cheese, a drizzle of evoo along with diced garlic. There is no place like home.

Listened to the home team play the LA Angels at 3:35 in Anaheim on my Dart's radio. A fabulous games and a fine win for the home team. The sun is blazed at 80° w/a 57° dew point in a pleasing humidity of 48%. It will be another day to be the sun and further my tan.

Civil twilight is 5:12 AM EDT. Night is 8:29 PM.

Sunrise: 5:44 AM. Set: 7:57 PM.

Length of day: 14h 13m. Length of visible light: 15h 17m. Tomorrow will be 2m 40s shorter.

The temp is 56° (13°C) with the high to be 81° (27°C) in clear skies.

Have a pleasant day!

Good morning!

I ♥ Life!

Cold beyond belief. Throw water out the 2nd story window. It turns to ice before it hits the ground. The bitter cold makes walking on snow squeak, as it is to cold for the snow to expand and have a crunch sound.

My choice would be to celebrate the birth of your granddaughter w/all the kids and grandkids. Like a spectacular Royalty event. Make it so!

Visited the Recycling Center to transfer glass, cans, paper and cardboard to their proper containers. The Town Highway Dept foreman (We use the term Road Agent) was taking the place of the usual worker.

The reg worker went to see his daughter in a show at a youth performance at the Weathervane Theatre in Whitefield. Chatted with the Road Agent for 30 minutes.

Then it was off to my pals mkt to talk and look for deals. No superdeals, yet lots of gab.Compliment his homemade sausage that was purchased the other day that left not a drop of grease while cooking.

Stopped at the town's annual BBQ, booths w/ arts, crafts, and homemade cakes, children's games, fleas market, and a 50/50 raffle. It is a fundraiser to keep the original town hall building maintained.

The new Board of Selectmen desire the original Grange Hall inside the town office building to be razed into an unneeded parking lot. All expenses are paid privately.

Learned a lot of the shady ways of spending money w/o approval of the town voters the new Board of Selectmen has been doing. Also 6 months later the town still does not have a police dept.

The one officer who lived up the mtn road quit to work for a tree clearing co. Back in March the majority vote at the annual town meeting favored not paying the State Police to patrol in favor of a town police force. There is none.

Civil twilight is 5:11 AM EDT. Night is 8:31 PM.

Sunrise: 5:43 AM. Set: 7:59 PM.

Length of day: 14h 15m. Length of visible light: 15h 20m. Tomorrow will be 2m 38s shorter.

The temp is 56° (13°C) with the high to be 80° (26°C) in clear skies.

Have a splendid day!

I ♥ Life

Still working on cleaning side of our house. Wife was uneasy because I was about 30 feet up the ladder with a soapy mop. My back is aching and was dragging when I came in. Up and down ladder.

We may have a delayed BD party for kids and grandkids. BD was Tuesday, but couldn't do it then. Now, we are waiting on granddaughter, she was due today, but that little rascal hasn't decided when he will appear.

That is cold, never seen that cold, anywhere!

Think I will download and watch "the encounter".

Enjoy your Sunday.

Good morning!

I ♥ Life!

Some crazy events in your area. Lots of deer here. 6 in ea sq mile. Don't forget it gets -30 below 0 in our winters. All batteries take a beating. My home is real wood sided. Turned a pleasing orange hue. The rain washes it well.

Saw a most excellent drama named "The Encounter" (2011) 85 min, that held my interest and entertained superbly. Suppose you met Jesus in a diner?

Stranded in the middle of nowhere five strangers find themselves marooned in a deserted roadside diner. An arrogant businessman (Steve "Sting" Borden), a lonely single woman (Jaci Velazquez), a couple on the verge of divorce, and a youthful runaway all come face to face with a diner owner who serves them more than temporal nourishment.

This genial host is a certain Nazarene (Bruce Marchiano), who knows all of their secrets and possesses the answers to all of their problems — if only they would trust and believe in Him. It is a miraculous Encounter that will leave them all changed.

Free to see here. No virus, worms, trojans, drivebys etc. No swears or violence. Just a free fab wholesome movie for the entire family. My rating is 5/5stars.

Stopped at the local greenhouse and talked shop w/a pretty 27 y/o gal. Her 10th year with the mom & pop flower farm. The more she spoke, the more Q's she was asked.

Have the names of some perennials that may be purchased next May. All plant & flower pints (4"x4") are just $1.25 each. Overloaded quarts are $4.50 to $12.95. Many gardens had stunted growth of flowers due to the extra harsh winter. Want to wait and know how the garden grows next spring.

Enjoyed an early afternoon basking in the sun, reading, then doing routine garden maintenance and simply enjoying the flowers. Temp was 72° (22°C) in mostly clear skies. Now on a run of sun through Monday with highs in the upper 70's (26°C).

Civil twilight is 5:09 AM EDT. Night is 8:32 PM.

Sunrise: 5:42 AM. Set: 8:00 PM.

Length of day: 14h 18m. Length of visible light: 15h 23m. Tomorrow will be 2m 36s shorter.

The temp is 56° (13°C) with the high to be 78° (25°C) in mostly clear skies.

Have a tremendous day!

I ♥ Life

Make that 5 to 4.

Missed ISS.

Been watching news, a house caught on fire on my road and they found a man dead in it. Few months ago, fire dept in Newport News responded to a fire and found a army wife, her 14 y/o daughter and two younger sons all dead. Woman was stabbed many times, 14 y/o stabbed 12 times and set on fire and 2 young boys stabbed multiple times. Arrested her husband in South Carolina with his son by his wife.

No problems from deer, but saw a buck Wednesday about 10 yard from our house, think it had 10 points with doe standing close by. Tried to get pictures and went upstairs for better shot and he must have seen me moving. Gone in a flash!

I buy my batteries from Costco, about $80 with I think 5 year warrantee. And they last more than 5 years so far. Have 2 in my truck. Bought a deep cycle battery for my trailer for $72.

The RTV gasket works but also have oil leak at base of motor, so think that gasket is bad. Got more done of hand washing house, up 32' ladder with flat mop moving back and forth, with blue dawn detergent, works well.

Have a good weekend

Good morning!

I ♥ Life!

5 to 3 posts is not so good. ; )

Look for the ISS on the East Coast at 8:20 PM (WSW) and 10 PM (WNW) tonight. Times for all of North America.

Went out early to check the plants, cover the ammonia and my scent containers w/lids and spray deer and rabbit repellent. Rain was heavily forecast w/the sky looking ominous.

T-storms were heard far south of here in the afternoon. We rec'd 1.03in of rain, mostly in 30 min, for the day.

Enjoyed the drive on the CT River Hwy aka NH Rt 135. The state had added ⅛ inch of resurfacing since my last trip. Nice and pleasing to cruise down the blvd on a smooth hwy.

Best deals at Big Papa's Market this w/e are a 2 pint (12 oz) pkg of Driscoll's raspberries for $2.75, 1 lb of strawberries $1.33.

Also bought were packham pears 3/$1, red bell peppers $1.88 a lb, avocados 4/$2 (lowest price ever in these parts), cukes 40¢ red grapes $2.38 a lb and asparagus $2.50 a lb.

Went to WM and brought the old battery in a bag on a shopping cart. Had my receipt which was written in, good thru 12/8/14. Gave her the receipt and the battery and said it will not hold a charge.

She turned her side of the battery toward me. It read right on the case, "2 year warranty." So it expired nearly 1 y/a and w/3 years written by mistake on the folded receipt.

WM wanted $78 plus change for a new battery (w/a 2 year warranty). Drove to two auto part stores in Littleton and got a quote from each. W/a 2 year warranty on each brand, the stores wanted $100 to $109.

Plan to return to WM for their lower priced battery (Think it was an Eveready.) if my local store can not beat or match $78. The Neon registration is $93, ins $125, and it will cost $500 for 4 new tires. Will mull over adding the Neon back on the road.

Civil twilight is 5:08 AM EDT. Night is 8:34 PM.

Sunrise: 5:40 AM. Set: 8:02 PM.

Length of day: 14h 21m. Length of visible light: 15h 25m. Tomorrow will be 2m 35s shorter.

The temp is 52° (11°C) with the high to be 74° (19°C) in mostly clear to partly cloudy skies.

Have a delightful day!

Good morning!

I ♥ Life!

Hope your homemade gasket works. Heard it is the best product.

You take lots of vacay's from posting ; )

Added the remaining meatballs and a few ziti shells marinating in my homemade tomato sauce in a 2 qt Pyrex glass container. W/o a doubt the pasta dish increases its taste the next day and beyond.

Made my homemade marsala sauce then added about 10 ounces to the fresh crockpot. Added carrots and potatoes and nuked the whole deal for 12 minutes. The sauce was simmering nicely and the veggies were hot.

Finely diced 6 cloves of garlic to the sauce, then added six of the assorted pork chops bought on sale for $1.88 the other day. Went outside to water the flower and plants and continue garden maintenance.

Had my fill of it and got even more ambitious. Mowed half the lawn. Temp was 62° (17C°) in a soothing light breeze. Wore boots and shorts. This day mowing was fun!

Returned inside to the overpowering fragrance of the house permeating the delightful aroma of garlic and marsala wine. Tried to forget the teasing smell. Had to go for a drive to get away.

Drove to Whitefield to get gas for $3.529. The state was added ⅜ inches of repavement over some sections of US Rt 3. Excellent to get the cracks out and smooth over the rough spots.

Bought cod at my pals' supermarket. Just $5.99 a lb. He took Tues and Wed off. Talked to the 2nd in command. He said he just made homemade sausage out of 98% lean pork and guaranteed there would be no fat in the pan. Unlike all store bought sausage.

Picked up a 2 lb pkg for $2.99 a lb and two 2 lb pkgs of pork loin country style ribs heavily marinated w/Ah-So sauce for an amazing $2.29 a lb.

Returned home to a sumptuous meal of pork chops, veggies and a taste of the sausage nuked between two paper plates. No grease at all. Love it!

Civil twilight is 5:07 AM EDT. Night is 8:35 PM.

Sunrise: 5:39 AM. Set: 8:03 PM.

Length of day: 14h 23m. Length of visible light: 15h 28m. Tomorrow will be 2m 34s shorter.

The temp is 52° (11°C) with the high to be 67° (19°C) in mostly clear skies. A 60% chance of rain this afternoon.

Off to the market later for a few items.

Have a fantastic day!

Thought I posted last night!

Still waiting for our newest Great Grandson. Grand daughter looks like she is way overdue.

Spent most of yesterday power washing upper part on NE side of our house. Had to stand on cargo trailer to reach top, except in the middle where the peak is. Had to quit due to oil leaking out of valve cover. Today, went to Lowes to find out if new they had gasket. None found, so bought RTV Blue and applied that and let dry till today. Will try it in the morning.

Have a good day tomorrow

Good morning!

I ♥ Life!

Got ambitious and dug more soil around the new annuals. Had left a foot strip between a boulder and the flowers. That would not sit well with me. Moved the sod to a bare spot at the edge of the lawn.

Drove to the PO and got my mail. Rec'd my C.U. Visa c.c. bill. Had wanted to pay it Fri or during the w/e. It was a pleasing reminder. Bill was not due to the end of the month. Best to pay it off early.

Went to two of the intown Greenhouses to look for discounted annuals.None remained in stock. Drove the two miles south of town to Sullivan's Greenhouses (Google Earth camera for a view of the hwy, mtns, and river). They had super healthy six packs for $1 each. Bought three of various marigolds.

Shopped at Shaws for some deals. Bought assorted porkchops for $1.88 during their weekly sale. Will return to Littleton on Thursday to Big Papa's mkt and that town's Shaw's for boneless, skinless chicken breasts for $1.69.

Made a great lunch w/many veggies and 1 small center cut pork chop. Dessert was a juicy pear and slice of cantaloupe. Returned outdoors to transplant the flowers, water all the plants, and prune, pinch, and deadhead what was needed.

Sun is out there shining like crazy. See the t-storm clouds are passing to the south and north of us. We missed the 80% chance of rain and t-bangers that were forecast.

Civil twilight is 5:05 AM EDT. Night is 8:37 PM.

Sunrise: 5:38 AM. Set: 8:04 PM.

Length of day: 14h 26m. Length of visible light: 15h 31m. Tomorrow will be 2m 31s shorter.

The temp is 60° (16°C) with the high to be 75° (24°C) in mostly clear skies.

Have a fabulous day!

Good morning!

I ♥ Life!

Many hike to mtn summits to pick those tiny blueberries. Get to them before the bears do.

Forgot about the 3 packed 18" x 11" x 12" tall cardboard boxes filled w/non perishable items for hours. Lucky for me they were seen by the front door when it was time for my lunch just before 8 AM.

Quickly got ready and carried each box to the car. Drove adventurously to Whitefield on US Rt 3, then on Rt 142 to The Assembly of God in Bethlehem.

The Pastor and his wife are neighbors of mine about ½ mile up the mtn from me. They are just several hundred feet further from the remote unpopulated fire road that allows access deep into forest.

Made it to the church 30 minutes before the needy arrived. We swapped several stories. Told him of the "Seen two calves walking by" story on Friday. Had some great laughs together.

They thanked me for the generous food and we said our goodbyes. Drove to downtown Littleton, being 4 miles right there. Visited my pal at Rite Aid. Also shared stories of jolliness.

Paid my monthly payment of the Dart at the CU. Their system was down so they wrote me a receipt on a full sheet of paper. Went to the State of NH Liquor Store for some marsala cooking wine.

Saw 5 older women come thru the front door w/shopping carriages. Did wonder how much liquor or wine they were going to buy. In NH all liquor and a vast selection of wine can only be bought at the state owned store. Yet beer and wine can be sold in supermarkets.

Sat in the sun reading for 1 hour. Then detailed the Dart by vacuuming and wiping the interior with a foam cleaner. Had time to wash then turtle wax the entire car.

Had the Neon on my 70 amp battery charger for some hours. No even the dome light or the ding that the door was open can on. Disconnected the battery removed it, and put it in two plastic bags in the back floor of the Dart. Will exchange it at WM Thursday. Warranty is good thru Dec 2014.

Civil twilight is 5:04 AM EDT. Night is 8:38 PM.

Sunrise: 5:37 AM. Set: 8:06 PM.

Length of day: 14h 28m. Length of visible light: 15h 34m. Tomorrow will be 2m 31s shorter.

The temp is 60° (16°C) with the high to be 78° (25°C). An 80% chance of rain. We need it.

Have a wonderful day!

Well now I need a nap, like 8 hrs!
Thanks for the link again.
Anything is more fun than cleaning !

Nice looking town.

Couple weeks ago, wife took a bucket to Yorktown for our walk After walking, she went picking about an hour. When she finished, asked her wouldn't it be more practical just buying a couple pounds at the grocery. No she said.

Your food sounds good, but am stuffed from late dinner.

Have a GR8 week

Good morning!

I ♥ Life!

Great you rec'd some well needed sleep and you are feeling chipper.

Link for the ISS is below. Cleaning a barn is not fun. Watching the ISS is.

Packed full three 18" x 11" x 12" tall cardboard boxes with cereals, powdered milk, oatmeal, pasta, various canned fruits, canned veggies, pb, applesauce, and different juices for the food bank at the Assembly of God church at 9 AM.

Lots of young mothers, wed and unwed, along w/many unemployed people of all ages, and senior citizens will be happy to share in the food donated by me and many others given out to the needy the first Monday of each month. Have donated my share before and will continue to.

Fought the thought of driving one way, 53 miles to North Conway, NH. Needed nothing else there. It was an overcast morning with cool temps, so even a visit to Diana's Baths would have seen few people and solid gray skies, not ideal for photography composition.

Plan to go on a bright, sunny day. On a hot day 100's seek the cool cascading waters of Diana's Baths. Many bring picnics along with their dogs to spend hours in the sun or shade, pools or waterfalls.

Cooked in the crock pot with tomato paste and salt free diced tomatoes along with eight of my fave Italian spices, diced onions, and thick sliced baby bellas. Slow cooked this on high for two hours.

Made sirloin pork ground meatballs about an inch in diameter and cooked them for 30 minutes. With oatmeal, spinach and broccoli added, this is a heck of a healthy, practically fat free pork meatballs. Like mine moist, tender, and juicy.

Froze the big half of sauce and meatballs. Boiled water in the 2 qt Pyrex in the microwave to cook some al dente ziti. Garlic is added to the sauce, meatballs, and to the cooking water. Feel the more garlic, the healthier and better tasting it is.

After a filling lunch, the outdoors greeted me with sun in partly clouded skies. Watered all the plants, flowers and highbush blueberries. Picked 2 cups of juicy bb's.

Placed them in a ZipLock bag and froze them with the others. A bumper crop considering 2 y/a deer nibbled off many branches. They did not even eat what was bitten off.

Irish Spring soap bars hung from the plants work great.; The odor of the scent of the soap causes deer to scurry away w/o touching the bushes. Have been lucky the birds have left the bb's alone as well. Quite certain the soap odor scares them away as well.

Have had no further critter problem w/several 16 oz cottage cheese containers full of ammonia and my scent in 1 container of each of the four locations. Covers are right beside them for when it rains. Have Irish Spring bars to place there as a repellent in the rain.

The ISS orbits by at 10:03 tonight over NH tonight and twice tomorrow evening at 9:14 and 10:51 PM on the East Coast. Here is the link to find it anywhere in our North American area. The site is often overloaded w/visitors. Suggest early morning or late night visits to avoid disappointment.

Civil twilight is 5:03 AM EDT. Night is 8:40 PM.

Sunrise: 5:36 AM. Set: 8:07 PM.

Length of day: 14h 31m. Length of visible light: 15h 36m. Tomorrow will be 2m 28s shorter.

The temp is 62° (17°C) with the high to be 78° (25°C). A 40% chance of rain thru Wed.

Have a pleasant day!

Hi Midnight, great news on your lab test!

Slept 8 hrs last night and felt good all day. Got tired after dinner, had been trying to get my 32' ladder out of my barn. Had to move cardboard and remove some boards stacked next to the ladder. Gotta clean barn out so I will have more space! This made me tired, but not sleepy.
Will have to remember to watch for ISS, thanks.

Time has flown tonight, going to try for 8hrs again tonight. Did take 1/2 of a melatonin, a natural sleep aid, last night. May take one tonight, too.

Have a good week

Good morning!

I ♥ Life!

All the lab results are great, heart is looking fab in the ultra sound. Just has some episodes of rapidness for minute or two.

Do the baking soda trick soon and water. Let me know how super the fruit is this year.

You still have traveler burnout. Would take even two naps a day to catch up. May you soon be back to being yourself.

Saw the ISS orbit by at 2:55 AM. The longest one ever seen. It lasted 6 minutes. The ISS is the brightest object in the night, except for the Moon. Like watching the brightest planet sailing by overhead. Missed the one at 4:32. Was typing.

Viewed over 700 photos taken from last winter to the present yesterday morning. Had forgotten many of them. Wrote down a few of .jpg numbers to consider posting them. Perhaps at another site as they very clear with 6 to 7 MB of pixels.

The hours clicked away evaluating the winter spring and summer shots. Suddenly it was 10 AM and only the pix were seen. Made and omelet of the last of the thawed shrimp, some pork cutlet cubes, a piece of the chicken breast and 4 veggies.

Sat in the sun, took in the rays, the silent beauty of the forest, and the flowers.Heard a vehicle enter my front driveway. An unknown fellow got out of one jazzy Chevy Silverado.

Walked up to him, we introduced each other, and shook hands. Took a long look at his stunning new pick up truck. It was a 2014 Silverado 3500HD Crew Cab, Long Box LTZ Dual Rear Wheel RWD. A $60,000+ rig. Beyond impressive!

He asked me the strangest question ever asked, "Did you see two calves walk by?" "No Mister, I did not." He gave me his and his son's cell phone numbers. This fellow was the one who rented the giant fields, the 4 story barn and farmhouse 2 y/o.

He said he bought two Hereford calves (duck is a bonus) that cost $4,000. They are to be entered in the Lancaster State Fair at the of the month. They somehow escaped.

His son saw the hoof tracks in the gravel road and followed them down the mtn. After 750' from my driveway his son entered the forest. They were in there and found.

The father went to get the cattle trailer while the son, about 30 y/o, got the calves out of the forest. Sure did slow a few of the folks driving by.

When the entertainment was over it was back into the sun, a seat, and a chess mag to read while absorbing some fabulous Vitamin D.

Sat in the sun reading two mags absorbing some excellent vitamin D and getting my tan darker.

Temps in the mtns will remain in the mid 70's (24°C) and in the mid 50's (13°C) at night w/scattered showers all week long.

Enjoyed the late afternoon outdoorsas the temp reached 81° (27°C). Sat in the sun and listened to the ballgame. The w/e series is tied 1-1. Rubber match is tonight on nat'l TV.

Civil twilight is 5:02 AM EDT. Night is 8:41 PM.

Sunrise: 5:35 AM. Set: 8:08 PM.

Length of day: 14h 33m. Length of visible light: 15h 39m. Tomorrow will be 2m 26s shorter.

The temp is 57° (14°C) with the high to be 79° (26°C). A 40% chance of rain for 5 days in a row.

Have a splendid day!

Midnight, try this. Was posted on VA Beach forum.

Hope your sodium, potassium levels turn out good.
Is good the electrical impulses to your heart are good and only occasionally go in a small circles, and great that nothing else is wrong with your heart and the ultrasound showed a healthy heart. Wish my older brother had a report like yours.

Thanks for the tomato tips, "baking soda around the soil (not onto the plant) absorbs into the soil and lowers its acidity levels".

24 is finished this season, and only saw 1 episode! Tried to watch the one I had recorded, but fell asleep quickly. Woke up after 2 other programs (2hours)finished. Shut down system and went to bed, which was 1:40am.
Been tired and sleepy most of the day, took 2 hour nap which was badly needed. Not caught up from trip.

Good morning!

I ♥ Life!

Thought about it. Did have a stopover twice. One was a fricking 1/2 mile walk from the end of one terminal to the other side. Phoned the airline and voiced my opinion.

24 needed to be looked up. No network TV stations reach this area. Looks like a fab show w/K Sutherland.

The pee sinks into the soil, yellows the lawn. The containers are best. Covered in the rain w/a bar of soap in place.

Glad you garden is growing well. have two more tricks to share below.

Got to enjoy getting lost in thought in my gardens admiring the work and results. Wanted to walk around to cop some ideas for future goals. Several concepts were thought of. Wrote them down to expend the perception.

Headed to town for a visit to the P.O. rec'd the records that were asked for 2008. Apparently the lab work was very minor that year. None were done. Had hope to see sodium, potassium levels, and etc.

Gained a 5 of a lb. Think my big lunch at 8 Am was the cause. Only had to wait 5 min in the doc's office, until he entered the room. We discussed SVT (supraventricular tachycardia during the week of the Zio heart Monitor.

Also discussed diabetes, osteoarthritis of the right hip, LVD (left ventricular dysfunction), slight hypertension, and my active participation in the nutrition counselling rec'd 10 days ago.

He said the electrical impulses to my heart occasionally go in a small circles which at times elevates the pulse. Otherwise nothing else is wrong w/my heart. The ultrasound showed a healthy heart.

Will see a Dartmouth Electrical Impulse Specialist to get his opinion. He works w/just the Electrical Impulses. It will be at Weeks Hospital w/o a 2 hour drive to Dartmouth Medical Center two hours away.

Visited my pal the meat mgr and told him Shaw's has boneless, skinless chicken breast on sale for for amere $1.69 and assorted pork chops for $1.88. He said that it costs far more than that w/sale to their store. Plan to get in on those deals this w/e.

Returned home to add the bi-monthly recommended treatment of epsom salt to all the flowers and fruit. Also added baking powder (not soda) to the soil for extra growth.

Tomato tip #7: Baking soda around the soil (not onto the plant) absorbs into the soil and lowers its acidity levels giving you tomatoes that are more sweet than tart. Dosage: 1 level tsp around each plant's soil once only, before the fruit turns red. Yes, have used it for years and it works excellent.

Tip #8: Baking Soda Spray for leaf spot, blight, and white fungus:

Combine 1 gallon of room temperature water with 1 tbsp. of baking soda and 2-1/2 tbsp. of vegetable oil in a garden sprayer. Stir the ingredients gently until the baking soda dissolves completely. Add 1/2 tsp of castile soap (made with olive oil, instead of animal fat. One can make their own) to the solution.

Spray the baking soda solution over the tomato foliage to cover the upper and lower leaves thoroughly. Continue to apply the baking soda spray every five to seven days until you control the fungal disease.

Sat in the sun reading two mags absorbing some excellent vitamin D and getting my tan darker. It is to rain or be cloudy for a 6 day run. Temps in the mtns will remain in the mid 70's (24°C) and in the mid 50's (13°C) at night w/scattered showers.

Civil twilight is 5:00 AM EDT. Night is 8:43 PM.

Sunrise: 5:34 AM. Set: 8:10 PM.

Length of day: 14h 36m. Length of visible light: 15h 42m. Tomorrow will be 2m 25s shorter.

The temp is 59° (15°C) with the high to be 77° (25°C) A 40% chance of rain for 5 days in a row.

Have a tremendous day!

Midnight, that's cause you were going from big city to big city. Most every flight leaving on east coast will go thru ATL or Kennedy. One trip few years ago left Newport News to ATL, to Houston, to Salt Lake City, said flight to Reno cancelled, so they put us up, and flew out next morning to Reno.

Gotcha on replacing @ with a. Going to watch 24 on tape when finished here.
Watched Fire Wall last night, which had to start over due to could not hear what was going on due to 2 girls across from me chattering. Good suspense starring Harrison Ford. Had it on DVD and don't know if it is on Netflix.

Pee poured around perimeter also works well.

Your epsome salt trick works, tall maters and many egg plant. Can't give em away. Love them pan fried with onions & mushrooms with/without some berger.

We have had showers on/off all day.

Have a GR8 weekend

Good morning!

I ♥ Life!

Holy smoke, Never even had 3 flights LAX to BOS.

Great you found your hearing aid and gxp.

The BBB movie ids only on Netflix Replace @'s w/a's

Nice to go outdoors check on my new annual garden section early yesterday morning and see that the smell of ammonia plus my scent works so well in 16 oz cottage cheese containers.

All sections of flowers have these containers. Have the lids right beside them to cover in the rain. Still have the rotten egg smelling Lowe's bought repellent plus bars of Irish Spring soap for those rainy times.

What super deals at Big Papa's Market. Bought unwaxed golden delicious apples 15¢s; ea, pears 3/$1, 1 lb of baby spinach $3, giant green leaf lettuce $1.18 ea, 10 oz of baby bella for $2.25.

Also purchased 1¼ lbs of green beans for $1.38, avocados for 75¢ ea, 2 lbs yellow onions $1.38, cukes 40¢, lemons 75¢, limes 5/$1, and 33.8 oz (1 litre) of evoo for $7.

Also shopped at WM for some small canned items and 8 lb bag of Epsom salts. Think it was $5.43. Have not eaten bread of any kind, even my usual multi grain, flat bread, or pasta in over 1 week. That in itself should lower my glucose.

No more pies and will limit pancakes and maple syrup. Will have a container of homemade lemonade well chilled in the fridge for the summer. Am a avid water drinker, one gallon each day.

Returned home to cook thick sliced mushrooms, yellow onions, red bell peppers, broccoli florets, julienne carrots, 36 cooked shrimp to the pound, mixed in homemade fried rice w/diced pork sirloin cutlet cubes.

Added evoo, 6 cloves, minced garlic and a pinch (1/16 of a tsp) of cayenne for some heat. My version of savory shrimp fried rice. Made enough for two remaining meals.

Went out and hand broadcast triple 10 fertilizer on every flower, plant, and the wildflower sections. Rain arrived then stopped mid afternoon 5.88" for July. It is a fabulous to give the plants and the soil a boast of triple 10.

Plan to add the epsom salts to the all the flowers and plants in a few days. Looks like the rain shall arrive this w/e. Thunderstorms along w/it for at least 5 days. Some areas likely to receive small hail.

In Red Sox baseball, Wednesday saw pitcher Felix Doubront sent to the Chicago Cubs for a player to be named later. The Red Sox and A's pulled off a blockbuster deal Thursday morning to swap All-Stars, Boston sending ace pitcher left-hander Jon Lester to Oakland for outfielder Yoenis Cespedes.

Thursday afternoon saw fellow All-Star pitcher and former starter John Lackey to the Cardinals. The Red Sox receive right-hander Joe Kelly and outfielder Allen Craig in exchange.

Gen Mgr Ben was screaming angry that the World Champions are in last place 12.5 games behind 1st place. The fans were as well. Sox host the Yanks for 3 at Fenway tonight & this w/e.

Civil twilight is 4:59 AM EDT. Night is 8:44 PM.

Sunrise: 5:33 AM. Set: 8:11 PM.

Length of day: 14h 38m. Length of visible light: 15h 44m. Tomorrow will be 2m 22s shorter.

The temp is 56° (13°C) with the high to be 80° (27°C) in clear skies.

Have a PCP visit at 9:30. Need to find out more in the Zio Heart Monitor results and others on the list.

Have a delightful day!

I ♥ Life

Midnight, it was almost midnight before we got home last night. Three flights to get home. Thankfully, no 3hr 50min layover in Atlanta today.

Did not know that about Kurt Russell's dad. Watched Bonanza and the Cartwright's the entire series.

Spent most of morning getting my stuff sorted and put away. Could not find my backup hearing aids & case. Looked thru every thing I carried. Saw the plastic bag with electrical hook ups and power inverter. There was my case. Then remembered my back up GPS, where is it? Yep, in the plastic bag too.

Is the "The B@ttered B@stards of B@seball" on Netflix?

Going to try and finish the movie I started watching at ATL airport and was too tired to finish when we got home.

Have a good evening

Good morning!

I ♥ Life!

Watched a fascinating movie on the Portland, Oregon Mavericks. The owner was Kurt Russell's dad, Bing Russell. He was best known as Deputy Sheriff Clem on "Bonanza" for many years and on many western movies. Bing created the only independent baseball team in America in 1973, the legendary Portland Mavericks.

He placed ads in the sports magazine hoping 30-40 would show for tryouts. 300+ arrived for the tryouts. He paid the players out of his own pockets. Bing operated without a Major League affiliation while playing in a city that was considered a wasteland for professional baseball.

Bing's Mavericks generated unprecedented success: they shattered attendance records, signed Kurt Russell — Bing's son — as a player and team Vice President, produced the most successful batboy in baseball (filmmaker Todd Field), re-launched the controversial career of Jim Bouton, hired the first female general manager in Baseball, and inspired one of America's beloved bubblegums — the Big League Chew.

The team was as much about the independent spirit as it was about baseball. The Mavericks' in your face attitude was contagious to fans, and during their reign (1973-1978), they — and Bing Russell — said to MLB we're playing this game on our terms, not yours.

They were the real life Bad News Bears. Their sell out crowds broke all the records for an A Team. The name of the documentary is "The B@ttered B@stards of B@seball," 73 min It debuted at the July 11, 2014 Sundance Film Festival in the Netherlands.

Produced for and is exclusive on Netflix. First month is Free! Loved the movie as much as baseball is loved. A 6 out of 5 stars. Don't make the error of assuming one must be a baseball fan to enjoy this. It works just as well as a story of the little guy sticking it to the man. The man in this case is the court-protected giant known as Major League Baseball.

Went out and weeded to my hearts content late morning. The back support is the finest $14 investment ever made. Got evey weed wanted removed, added some Preen (It is organic!) until it ran out.

Peeled some of the other town's newsprint that stuck to the soil when some of the wildflower seeds were sown. Then started digging at the 2' x 4' riprap on either end. After 30 minutes of work w/o progress, the answer arrived.

Picked up all the smaller rocks, throw them in the hole, then filled the hole w/composted manure and my excellent homemade compost. Left the boulders on the opposite ends and planted the annuals bought earlier this month in the filled in area. Job completed.

Civil twilight is 4:58 AM EDT. Night is 8:46 PM.

Sunrise: 5:31 AM. Set: 8:12 PM.

Length of day: 14h 40m. Length of visible light: 15h 47m. Tomorrow will be 2m 21s shorter.

The temp is 54° (12°C) with the high to be 70° (21°C). Chance of rain 50%. 70% chance this afternoon w/t-storms.

Off to the market for some light shopping.

Have a fantastic day!

Good morning!

I ♥ Life!

Watched an intense episode of "The Greatest Tank Battles in History". In October of 1973 Syria launched a sneak attack on Israel in the Golan Heights.

A few outnumbered tanks manage to hold off an invasion of overwhelming size in one of the greatest tank battles ever waged. On streaming Netflix. 5/5 stars.

Got to read the May issue of Outdoor Photography that has the annual Landscape Special. Lots of action shots in sports, travel, wildlife and scenery.

Went out at 10 AM to perform lots of garden maintenance. The rain we had, 1.43 inches in 24 hours and 5.88 for the month grew the lawn veggies flowers and the weeds.

Concentrated getting the weeds out. Also one of my beef steak tomato plants keeled over due to the extra weigh if rain. Needed to push the 5' wire cage in the soil deeper and prop out the sides w/wood.

Mowed the last half of the lawn. The soil was so saturated that at times my steps squeezed out water. The wheels sank nearly 1" in those areas as well. It was fun to cut it in temps of just 61° (16°). Truly a no sweat experience.

Finished the lawn just in time for the Recycle Center to open at its noon to 5 PM time on Tuesdays. Brought the glass, tin cans, mags, paper and a collapsed metal chair to the transfer station.

Returned home instead of going to town and spending money. Watched the pilot show of the first Star Trek from 1966. Did not know Majel Barrett, the voice of all the computers in the 4 separate series, Lwaxana Troi in The Next Generation and the wife of series creator Gene Roddenberry in real life and Leonard Nimoy were the only two of the original cast in episode 1. Am a Trekker, all of them, from Day 1.

Civil twilight is 4:57 AM EDT. Night is 8:47 PM.

Sunrise: 5:30 AM. Set: 8:13 PM.

Length of day: 14h 43m. Length of visible light: 15h 50m. Tomorrow will be 2m 19s shorter.

The temp is 49° (9°C) with the high to be 73° (23°C) in beautiful clear skies.

Have a fabulous day!

Good morning!

Once the 8' room was seen, would have returned and cancelled for elsewhere. All credit card charges can be disputed. Call the Co and explain. Have a area that rents motel rooms for $54.50, tax inc. Comes w/a fridge, stove, and cooking ware. Swimming pool, net, TV. What is happening in Bismark? RV are fun. Owned one for 15 years.

Had very light, yet steady rain in the wee hours yesterday morning. At 8:15 AM the moderate rain arrived. Soon after the t-boomers started. Closed up and saved my work, shut the computer down, then unplugged the electricity to the pc and the modem. Also disconnected the phone line from the modem.

Decided to head back to Whitefield. Wanted to see if all my medical records were send from the former clinic. Had asked two weeks ago for some previous years lab results. They were waiting for me at the reception desk.

Stopped at that town's Subway for a breaky combo. $3 for a white egg, bacon (or ham) cheese and all the veggies. A 16 oz coffee is included. While inside the sky opened up and quarter dollar sized rain drops bounced off the pavement.

A wave of water poured down the paved road nearby. Could see a brook two inches deep flowing. Vehicles slowed down. Think the drivers all were worried about slipped down that road.

Visited my pal the meat mgr. When he came out of the meat cutting room He was asked by me, "How's your osmolarity?" He looked, squinted, and said How's my what?

Explained osmolarity is used to determine certain medical conditions, like the dissolved particles in urine. Read that on my newly rec'd Lab results and wanted to have fun.

Bought another pkg of the three fish cakes with potato as a filler. Liked it and it was also fully cooked in the cold case. The price was exceptionally low.

This store has fabulous low meat and fish prices, in general. Compared to our high priced Shaw's.

It rained steady mostly moderate from 8:15 until 2 PM. Then it rained lightly, finally stopping at 2:30. We rec'd 1.72 yesterday and so far 4.54" for the month. The sky became bright, saw blue patches, then the sun returned. Mostly cloudy this morning, then becoming partly sunny.

Civil twilight is 4:56 AM EDT. Night is 8:48 PM.

Sunrise: 5:29 AM. Set: 8:15 PM.

Length of day: 14h 45m. Length of visible light: 15h 52m. Tomorrow will be 2m 16s shorter.

The temp is 57° (14°C) with the high to be 70° (21°C) in partly cloudy skies.

Have a wonderful day!

Stayed in Alexander, ND last night. Never seen a setup like this. It had about 19' x 8' cubicles. Was tight with double bed, wall cabinet about 4' long for refrige and clothes. Manager said it was Europiean concept. I don't care for it. Only $109 per night! All the hotels are that range! Going to change something, that is robbery! Went thru Teddy Roosevelt's 2 National parks and to Dickenson, ND. Was supposed to have RV, but did not. Since we have to be in Bismarck Wednesday, we found nice hotel in Bismarck for $79. We took off Bismarck, 100 miles from Dickenson. Took a little over an hour, speed limit was 75, and that is what I did.

Have a good hump day

Good morning!

I ♥ Life!

Went out early yesterday morning to harvest strawberries and some blueberries. Have enough for about two meals. Probably will be the fruit in 1% milk and with cereal. Got the berries before the birds did.

Checked out all the plants, flowers and the wildflower areas. All is growing well w/o slugs or rabbits having a free buffet. Covered the 1 lb cottage cheese containers the ammonia and my scent is in.

This is working well. The third day w/o the annual flowers being eaten by rabbits. Also read a 3 ft piece of a used garden hose as a fake snake is another good rabbit deterrent. Hope to find a used hose at the transfer station sometime soon.

Drove to visit my pal the meat mgr at Mac's Market in Whitefield. Haven't seen him in a few weeks. Bought some Shooner 2.5" fish cakes made of three types of fish and potato as a filler. No MSG on the label and a swell $1.99 a pound.

Asked he how Shaws can sell Split boneless chicken breast and bone in pork sirloin cutlets for $1.49 a lb for both this week. He said his cost is $1.60.

Then Shaw's is truly selling both as a loss leader, hoping other products are bought while its customers are in the store. Stopped in Shaws to buy a pkg of of the split chicken breasts.

Looking forward to cooking them in the crock pot soon w/lots of veggies. Stopped at the Main St field where the Civil War re enactment soldiers spent the night in their tents. Will have photos to share in a day or so.

Had a nice big healthy spinach, green leaf lettuce salad, along w/many different veggies w/chunks of ham and cheese along w/ two of the fish patties. They are about the thickness and size of a wide mouth Nalgene bottle. No chemicals in them that made me want to eat more.

Had two hours of rain late morning. Forecast is for scattered thunderstorms during the night into late morning. Nothing arrived as this was typed.

Listened to the home team play the Seattle Mariners w/the windows and doors open in a fabulous 71° (21°C) w/a 3-12 mph (4-19 kmph) breeze. Nice to avoid the other half of the lawn that needs to be mowed due to it being soaked.

Civil twilight is 4:54 AM EDT. Night is 8:49 PM.

Sunrise: 5:28 AM. Set: 8:16 PM.

Length of day: 14h 47m. Length of visible light: 15h 55m. Tomorrow will be 2m 14s shorter.

The temp is 59° (15°C) with the high to be 72° (22°C) in partly cloudy skies.

Have a pleasant day!

Good morning!

I ♥ Life!

Saw it in the early 90's. Just as powerful today. Have been on I-94.In Wisconsin to St Paul heading west. Like your highway route to see America.

Completed the last of the forms from TIAA CREF. Am thinking the paperwork is finally completed, ending of this book, the final page is completed.

Went out to see a rabbit running away from my tomato plants. Rabbits are not fond on tomatoes, yet if they are hungry they will eat anything green. Or at least taste test it.

The containers of ammonia and my scent around the annuals, perennials, and wildflowers are working great. No nibbing or plant loss is seen. Like this method, except in rainy weather. Read mothballs work also and the rain does not dissolve them.

Watered all the plants, flowers, new lawn and wildflowers. Saw the newest wildflower seeds are germinating fabulously. At 10AM jumped into the Dart and took a drive to downtown Lancaster.

Mailed the letter to TIAA CREF, then saw the downtown Street Fair was beginning. Parked in the motel lot beside the P.O. Took my camera and saw the field across the St on US Rt3 had 100's of people.

It was a Civil War reenactment of 2 dozen men w/genuine uniforms, muskets, and cannons. Tents of the era were set up as well as the style of cooking pots and pans on several fires.

The drums beat, the lieutenant shouted, "Fire!" Muskets filled the air with smoke. The order "Fire at will," was commanded. There were two 3" (76.2 mm) cannons. None were fired.

The Main St was jammed with vehicles, in fact it was the first time seeing stop and go traffic. Vendors lined both sides with their merchandise along with booths selling fried dough to lobster rolls.

Our visitor's Center held the antique, muscle, and classic car show. 100's, if not a thousand folks were enjoying the fabulous 73° (23°C) sunshine in nearly clear skies.

One fellow had a giant pure black and shiny Newfoundlander that was handsome. There was a civilian owned Army store that sold equipment, rations, and supplies that would follow the troops.

A pair of leather Army boots just below the knee were $15 in those days. A private in 1860 was paid $13 a month. It was raised in June 1864, when soldiers rec'd $16 a month.Civil twilight is 4:53 AM EDT. Night is 8:51 PM.

Sunrise: 5:27 AM. Set: 8:17 PM.

Length of day: 14h 49m. Length of visible light: 15h 57m. Tomorrow will be 2m 12s shorter.

The temp is 59° (15°C) with the high to be 74° (23°C) in partly cloudy skies. Rain/t-storms are expected later.

Have a splendid day!

Midnight, saw Mississippi years ago starring Gene Hachman. Good movie.

I had to take a nap this afternoon, left wife in museum and went to the car.

We are leaving Great Falls tomorrow morning for Bismarck. Taking our time getting back sight seeing. Going to take 200 back instead of I-94. 200 is over 300 miles. Is nice road, 2 lane with 383 mile long. Going by way of I-94 is over 500. Via 200, very few towns (3-4) and not many rest stops.

Have a good evening.

Good morning!

I ♥ Life!

Saw the extremely powerful movie "Mississippi Burning" (1988) 128 min. A crime, drama, mystery, and deep southern Civil Rights issues of the '60's in fictional rural Jessup County, Mississippi.

The FBI sends a couple of mismatched agents in to search for three civil rights activists. One agent (Gene Hackman) is 'old school', sly, and knows his enemies a little too well. The other (Willem Dafoe) is a naive Kennedy fire-eater, ready to bring the full force of the FBI and military down upon this small town's head.

These FBI agents investigate the murders of civil rights workers during the early 1960s seek to breach the conspiracy of silence in a small Mississippi town where segregation divides black and white... and the KKK rules.

Well-acted, compelling, great script. Fantastic message. 5/5 stars.

Returned to Big Papas Produce Mkt Bought two big red bell peppers for $1.25. Also bought two pineapples for $1.50 ea. Had them cored for a mere 50¢ more.

The owner had to return to the Boston Produce Center Late Thursday night. He nearly sold out of everything. This privately owned market continually gives all supermarkets a fabulous run for their money w/the freshest fruit, prices and low prices.

Bought Bone In pork sirloin chops during the start of Shaws weekly sale.

Not many can beat the $1.49 a lb in this area. Also bought a 1.5 lb container of fat free cottage cheese for $2 a lb. It goes great w/cold sliced pineapple.

Returned home to water all plants, flowers and newsprint covered the new seed. Used the small1 lb containers to fill up w/my scent around the wildflowers and the annuals to repellent the rabbits. Read that mothballs and cayenne pepper also work well.

Took a 90 minute nap over sitting in the sun. Had been up for over 11 hours and felt sleepy. Always feels super after a good sound nap. Will sit in the sun after this post.

Civil twilight is 4:52 AM EDT. Night is 8:52 PM.

Sunrise: 5:26 AM. Set: 8:18 PM.

Length of day: 14h 51m. Length of visible light: 16h 00m. Tomorrow will be 2m 10s shorter.

Good morning!

I &hearts Life!

This is a ruffed grouse. 16-20 long.

Bismarck, ND has a real airport? j/k! Have a blast at Great Falls, MT, then Glacier NP!

Loved the low of 59° (15°C) Wednesday night. Had the windows open all night and the front door open part way. A ceiling fan in my bdrm cranked in the cool air from outdoors. Temp indoors dropping to 64° (18°C), perfect for my house plants.

Left early and took the fireroad the last half of the journey to Littleton. Bought were lemons 2/$1, limes 4/$1, giant heads of green lettuce $1.18 ea, avocados 98¢ ea, green bean $1.38 a lb, bing cherries $2.49 a lb, 40 cukes ¢ ea, and baby bella 10 oz for $2.25

Passed on grapes at $2.38 a lb. Mainly as lots are left over from last week. The bags are big at 2.5-3 lbs. Will only buy 1-1.5 lbs in the future.

Returned home to put the produce away. Then checked all the plants for damage from the t-storm the early evening before. No plants or even the flowers were damaged.

Mowed the lawn in the most pleasant conditions. Finished half of the 1.5 acres. Humidity was 48% w/the dew point a gentle 52° (11°C). In fact it was a superb day w/the high a pleasing 73° (23°C) and the wind 4-8 mph (6.5-13 kph).

Drove to the P.O.for the first time this week. In the mail was the requested Zio Heart Monitor results and a letter from my PCP dated 4 days ago. My heart randomly goes fast for brief intervals with a condition know as Supraventricular tachycardia (SVT). Will talk to the doc about it during my appointment in 1 week. Not worried at all.

The oral surgery was cancelled as the anesthesiologist can not work next week. It was scheduled for Wedhe 30th at 8 AM. This will also delay my hip surgery for another month. Am disappointed in the continuing delay.

Civil twilight is 4:51 AM EDT. Night is 8:53 PM.

Good that most of the reports were good. Sounds like the lady doc is interesting. She has some good points. Thanks for the info on 10 benefits of cinnamon (a quick read list) has been known for over two thousand years. This is a keeper. Vinegar also is good for cutting sugar.

Fixing to leave for Great Falls, MT (550 miles)and then Glacier NP (160miles).

Have a GR8 day. Hope I will have Inet tonight.

Good morning!

I ♥ Life!

Where you be?

Went outdoors at 7:45 AM to dig up the final bare section where the former wild blackberries grew. Naturally with removing all roots, rocks and soil never loosened before, it was a job that took longer than expected.

The pitchfork did the heavy work, then the steel rake did the fine turning. Hand broadcast the wildflower seed, added some composted dry manure over the seed, then used the back side of the yard rake to wiggle soil over the seed.

Added some water to soak that area, newsprint was laid over, then the newspaper was drenched. Added some small roots to hold the print down. Saw the seed planted beside this area 2-3 days ago is germinating wonderfully. Went to the bare spot the grouse dug in the first wildflower area.

My liquid scent the day before did a fabulous job of keep it from returning. Scraped up that 18" circular area with the yard rake, seeded it, then also eased the soil over the seed. Watered, covered it, watered the print, then added some stones to prevent the wind from moving it.

Watered the remaining plants and new spots in the lawn. Sweat soaked my t-shirt and rolled down my back and head. Worked 2.5 hours in the gardens. By 10:15 the temp had climbed to 81°, the humidity was 69%, with the dew point a nasty 68°. The high of the day was 87°.

By 1 PM heavy rain and t-storms let loose some miles north of me. Lots of yellow and plenty of red on the radar map indicated a very severe storm. Cold air arrived north of me. Temp dropped to 66°.

The clouds made the sky very dark. Then the wind arrived. Had 2 hours of thunderstorms, no hail, with large raindrops the size of quarters late afternoon into the evening. No power outages in my area

Civil twilight is 4:50 AM EDT. Night is 8:54 PM.

Sunrise: 5:24 AM. Set: 8:20 PM.

Length of day: 14h 55m. Length of visible light: 16h 04m. Tomorrow will be 2m 3s shorter.

The temp is 62° (17°C) with the high to be 76° (24°C) in partly cloudy skies.

Off to the market to find deals and for some light shopping.

Have a fantastic day!

Good morning!

I ♥ Life!

You coming back?

Went out at 8 AM yesterday to water all the plants, enjoy the sun rising over the forest, and the splendid new day. Near the road the smaller of the two patches of wildflowers had a 16" circle bared to the ground.

A grouse feather remained as evidence of what dug into the already soft hand tilled soil and spent the night.

Added some repellent to the area, reseeded it, watered the brushed in soil, covered it w/newsprint, and watered the soil. Will see if the deer and rabbit repellent along w/a human smell added to the ground will keep the pesky critter off my wildflowers.

Got ready for my 11 AM diabetes orientation visit and left right away north of Lancaster to the lovely Town Of Groveton. The Medical Center was real easy to find as it is two doors down from the Fire Station.

Was taken into the office minutes after may arrival, escorted to an exam room by a nurse which took my vitals. This day my pulse was 74 w/my BP at 139 over 78.

My weight was an entire 1 pound down from two weeks earlier. Now down 5 lbs since March. The Doc came in and introduced herself w/a smile. Again by her first name. Really like the friendliness.

Did let her talk for some minutes. When she began to explain the basics of carbs calories and sugar intake, she was stopped. Let her know the basic when well known and to get right into the nitty gritty of our meet.

She explained my pancreas is producing plenty of insulin yet my cells, all of the were rejecting this. Elaborated how my hip cartilage wore down to the bone and hiking, 40 miles (64 km) each week w/10-15,000 ft (3000-4,800 km) of elevation each week had to stop.

Further explained my new thirst and desire for apple, blueberry, egg custard pie w/ice cream, and lemonade (sugar) along with my habit of bread, pasta, rice, and pizza (carbs).

She did a meal by meal in depth analysis of my typical meals for a week. She calculated that of the target of 200 grams of carbs ea day, my highest is 195 w/my lowest being 180 grams. That is how my weight has dropped nice and slow at 1 lb per month.

She was thrilled that my snacks are mainly avocados and grapes and my use of cinnamon (Decreases Blood Sugar, lowers LDL cholesterol) is substantial. The 10 benefits of cinnamon (a quick read list) has been known for over two thousand years.

In the summary of yesterday's visit the doc wrote: "Patient is quite knowledgeable in nutrition, had given up a lot of carbs, and sugar which is reflected in his 5 lb weight loss."

Know by lowering carbs and all sugar intake my weight will continue to see pounds lost. She gave a goal of losing 11 more lbs. In this manner no meds will be needed to control the borderlin diabeties. Happy to be healthy.

Civil twilight is 4:48 AM EDT. Night is 8:55 PM.

Sunrise: 5:23 AM. Set: 8:21 PM.

Length of day: 14h 58m. Length of visible light: 16h 07m. Tomorrow will be 2m 2s shorter.

The temp is 63° (17°C) with the high to be 86° (30°C). Rain is in the forecast for this afternoon along w/a t-banger.

"Thunderstorms may be severe with damaging winds...large hail...heavy rainfall and frequent lightning." -wunderground.com. Just like a real storm.

Have a fabulous day!
