Good Afternoon EXPM-Dave........

Happy Halloween.....

We're zipping along today. 46°Clear sunny sky. In the 60's today.

Lots of things going on here at the house and about.

We we're at the hospital last night watching FL state and Louisville Cardinals.
Cardinals had a 21 nothing lead in the first half. Than FL state came
back in the second half and ran all over them. I see your panthers
didn't come to play against the Saints.
Will be watch foot ball tonight.
Can't wait till College round ball starts.

Enjoy your Friday while having fun in Life...........

Happy Halloween XP,

No sale on milk this week, but they did have it for $2.99 instead of their usual $3.19.
Bought two mesh bags of apples for $1.00 each, total 9 apples. Weighed them and I paid $.44 lb for them. Only a few bruises and one of the apples was even a Honey Crisp I read on the label when I got home. Most had no labels. Considering our sale price for apples (Not Honey Crisp) is $.99 or more, I did well.

I thought so on your discount. Never has been "all" here.

I hope ↑ there begins loading faster for you. So far ok for me this morning, but slow is not uncommon.

Trick or Treat, Trick or Treat, Trick or Treat.

Help yourself to a Halloween cookie.

Good morning, XP,

Even though it's Halloween, no getting ready for trick-or-treaters here. Our house sits about 800 feet off the road and is shielded somewhat by woods. In the 30+ years we've been in this house, we have never had even one Halloween visitor. Oh, well; that's the way it is!

Have a fun, safe day!

rainy, windy tweet

Hiya Lighting, Claudie, iceeman99, Dr. T, and Don! Thanks for dropping by.

Lighting - Thank you. I'm so sorry about your dad. All you can do is the best you can during this stressful time. Remember that he will be going to a place with peace and no more pain.

Take care my friend and my thoughts are with you.

Claudie - Thank you. Weather is really changing here too. Snow showers and high winds for today they say.

My discount wasn't much this week either. Didn't need or want too much but every little bit helps.

I read that your errands and appt. went well and quickly for you yesterday. You even got some cheap gas. Can't beat that. :)

Hope your day today goes just as well.

Dr. T - Thank you. Our weekly Senior Discount is on everything in the store, not just the food. It's all discounted 5%.

No snow yet but the wind is picking up with some light rain right now.

Interesting about the sea stars. Have never seen them before except in pics. Glad to see they are on the road to recovery.

Don - Thank you. I never liked that pick either. Glad you do have insurance. Dentists should wear masks all the time. Biggest robbers in the business.

Hope you have a really nice day.

Have A Great Day Everyone!

Good Morning XP,
Do you receive the discount on all food? We only get it on food from the nutrition center as well as Kroger/Fred Meyer brands. Again, it's only once a month, too, except between T. Day and Christmas.

I hate buying a whole gallon of milk today as I can get the discount next Tuesday. Will be just my luck that half gallons are on sale next week, too, but I don't think V8 juice will work on what is now, cereal twice a day till next next Tues. :-)

I was going to ask you if you still shared some of my posts with C. Thanks for answering my unasked Q. I did send her a link to a page that I will probably use next week.

Let us know if you wake up to snow on the morrow.

Juvenile sea stars on the Florence jetty, the county to my south.

Highlights from the article.

Divers in the Pacific Northwest faced a gruesome landscape over the past few months. Sea stars, stricken with a wasting syndrome whose cause has puzzled scientists across the globe, were disintegrating arm by arm into pale piles of gelatinous goo.

A glimmer of hope appeared on Florence’s North Jetty this month in the form of juvenile stars. An aquarium volunteer first noticed the tiny invertebrates during a recreational dive. She let the Aquarium know and a team was deployed the next day to survey the area.

The aquarium Safety Officer who led the science dive team said, “It was overwhelming, when we first got down there it looked like the rocks were covered with barnacles. We soon realized those white spots were thousands and thousands of stars. I have never seen them in numbers like that, it was pretty incredible.”

The thumbnail-sized juveniles were so abundant, as many as 202 in a square meter, that divers had to change their survey technique to get an accurate sample of the stars’ numbers before they ran out of air.

This may be the first sign of recovery in Oregon, where sea star wasting syndrome has ravaged local star populations.

Thousands of juvenile starfish, offspring of those who died off during recent “wasting” episode along the coast.

Have a Thankful Thursday!

Good morning, XP,

Whoooeee! Such a difference in today's weather over yesterday! Highs only in the mid-60s (lows in the mid-30s) and windy. There's even a possibility of snow in the far northeastern part of GA. Autumn has definitely arrived! At least it'll be a nice night tomorrow evening for all the trick or treaters.

I did alright at the store; didn't buy too much, so the discount was under $2. Oh, well!

As for the baseball game, Mom actually only watches maybe an inning or 2 b/c she goes to bed early. I guess she then finds out on the news the next morning who won.

My agenda for this morning....chiro, Mom's, gas station, home. :) Hopefully, short and sweet.

Have a great day!

Hiya Claudie, Dr. T, and Don. Thanks for dropping by.

Claudie - Thank you. Bet your mom enjoyed the game last night. Her team won. :)

Weather here is supposed to switch tomorrow. Calling for snow and possibly some accumulation. Yuck!

I noticed that link wasn't right but I remembered the site from before. You all have been there previously.

Hope you made out well with the discount yesterday and today is a great day for you. :)

Dr. T - Thank you. Didn't really get much at the store yesterday. Hamburger was on sale this week and I got some plus the discount. That was about it.

That squishing party with the elephants is always a treat. I sent it to C. so she could watch it.

Don - Thank you. That's good that you got into the dentist early. Makes up a little bit for the doctor putting you off.

Calling for snow here tomorrow. Guess it's about time for it again. Sure not looking forward to it.

Hope you have a really nice day.

Good Morning XP,
I looked on line yesterday at the ad for the store in the Valley where I bought apples for $.69 lb. This week they have Fuji for $.49 which is unheard of over here.

Reminds me that since it's Wed. I need to check the grocery ads for the other 3 stores we have in the area, besides Fred Meyer. Course the Q is why as there won't be anything.

Let me know what you find today on sr. Wed,

I agree. I have only seen one or two pelicans at a time. Fascinating to see those photos.

It's almost time for Halloween and as happens every year at the Oregon Zoo it was the squishing the squash party by the elephants the other day.

The video is 2 min. in length. I would suggest you view the first minute and watch Lily the baby elephant as she climbs on top of one of the pumpkins. The largest pumpkin weighs in at 1,266-lbs.

Happy Wednesday!

Good morning, XP,

I doubt Mom enjoyed last night's baseball game (the little she actually saw); she's rooting for the Giants.

Oh, boy! Is the weather ever supposed to change today! Going from temps in the high 70s (the past few days) to highs only in the mid-60s! Quite a change! Looking forward to it, though. :)

Oooops! I made a boo-boo yesterday and left the wrong link to Noah's Ark! :( Here's the right one.....Noah's Ark, and would you look at that! There's one of TUrtLE's relatives right on their home page! :)

Today I'll be going to the stores and that'll be about it. :)

Just an early reminder....this weekend's when we turn our clocks back an hour.

Have a great day!

Hiya Claudie, Don, Dr. T, and Lighting. Thanks for dropping by.

Claudie - Thank you. That Noah's Ark looks like a fun place to go for all ages. Glad to see your mom enjoyed it even if it did tire her out some. Hope she enjoyed the ball game last night.

Hope you have a fantastic day.

Don - Thank you. Beginning to sound like that doctor has a lot of scheduling problems. Doubt that it makes you too happy to get jerked around like that. Hope you have better luck with the dentist.

Hope you have a really nice day.

Dr. T - Thank you. $.68lb. was the last price we paid for apples a couple weeks ago. They went up some and there aren't as many varieties as before. Guess harvest is basically over here and the local ones are mostly gone.

Really nice pictures of the pelicans. I never realized that they hang in large flocks like that. Here we usually only see one or two at a time.

Lighting - Thank you. You're right about the nail biter. Sure hope the Royals can pull it out. It's been a long time for them.

Sounds like you are having nice weather down there now. Ours is over for this year I'm afraid. They are calling for some snowflakes mixed in with the rain over the weekend.

Hope your day goes well for you. Take care.

Have A Great Day Everyone!

Good Morning EXPM-Dave!!

Going to be a nail biter today on the last game of the series.
Now tied at three.

Had pretty nice temps in the 70's. 55° out right now. Could see some rain
in the morning. 70% to 80% chance. Than clear up as the temp go down.
You may need to fire up the stove before the week is over.

Enjoy your Wednesday while having fun in Life..........

Good Morning XP,

I grrrred last night when I read what I had written in the morning, the title of the song. We both know what it was suppose to say.

I prefer pumpkin custard since I don't need the crust. I noticed in TJ's yesterday all the pumpkin food items with what I consider inflated prices.

Since apples were one of the last things we talked about before...I did buy them yesterday for $.68lb. You'll never find that over here. I just looked at all the meat prices and shook my head. Let's get off that subject.

I now have 3 or 4 westerns to wade through. First it's locate and compose my C&P's for the rest of this week.

Pouring out there at the moment.

We had quite the wind and rain storm on Saturday.
The following photos with captions from Ken Gagne were posted on the county web site.

Pelicans out there…lookin’ pretty grumpy!

These pelicans don’t need storm warning signs to tell ‘em which way the blows!

Bumper to bumper traffic just trying to stay warm!

"Groober" takes off saying…”You guys can have this stuff! I’m headed for Miami!”

"I'm on a bead to Biscayne Bay, boys!”

Have a Terrific Tuesday!

Good morning, XP,

Yes, time for the owner of the Falcons to do something!

I'll be taking Mom to the store this morning, just a little earlier than I usually do. That's b/c we want to make sure she gets back home before they take a trip to Noah's Ark. They've been there before for a picnic and a visit with some of the animals. Mom's hoping for the same, but a visit to see MORE of the animals! It'll be a fun trip for them again. :)

Have a great day!

Hiya Dr. Tx2, Claudie, Don, and Lighting. Thanks for dropping by.

Dr. T - Thank you. Very interesting facts about pumpkins. Most I did not know. Really don't care much for them except pumpkin pie but I can only take so much of that. :)

I knew that was a Willie song and had never heard an intstrumental version before. I really liked though.

I agree with both of you. That Grisham book was one of the best I've read in a long time. :)

Claudie - Thank you. Glad to hear your mom is doing well again. I read in your place that the ALF is helping to increase the potassium in her diet. I had no idea raisins had more than bananas.

Good that the dentist visit went well for you. Hope the follow up with your regular dentist doesn't amount to too much.

Think it's about time the Falcons made some changes. What they are doing now surely isn't working.

Hope the day is a good one for you.

Don - Thank you. I did enjoy yesterday. It was warm in the 70's and I spent quite a bit of it outside. Nice to be able to do it without a jacket.

Hope you have a really nice day.

Lighting - Thank you. Fun is hard to find lately but I'm trying.

Hope you are enjoying yourself. Take care.

Have A Great Day Everyone!

I talked to L tonight when I came home, and she found the regular print "Gray Mountain" on the shelf, no holds on it, checked it out and read in 2 days. We both agreed, we didn't want it to end. I'll have to return the large print but probably not till Wed.

Good morning, XP,

I talked to Mom yesterday afternoon, and she seems to be back to her ol* self. That sure is a relief!

All I can say about the Falcons' game is...some heads are going to roll! :(

I think we've been having Indian summer these last few days and including today; temps have been about 10° warmer than normal for this time of the year (in the high 70s/low 80s). Supposedly that'll end after today and the temps will get back into the low-to-mid-70s where they belong. Looking forward to the cooler temps again. At least it's also been sunshiny with just about no clouds in the sky at all; just a gorgeous blue, blue sky! :)

Late this morning, I am having some dental work done; according to the dentist, it shouldn't take to long to do. Sure hoping so. :)

Have a great day!

Good Morning XP,
I figured it would be. Never thought about it till niaw mentioned it that, "You're Were Always On My Mind" is a Willie Nelson song. I had to go to youtube to listen.

I looked for a cd by Morbitzer but found none. I've pretty much stopped buying cd's but did get George Strait's, "The Cowboy Rides Away." Will listen to it again in the car today.

Enjoy your warm today. It may not last long.

Yesterday was National Pumpkin Day. Nothing says we can't celebrate it today.

Some facts about pumpkins.

It is the perfect time of the year to celebrate National Pumpkin Day.
Pumpkin (squash) is native to North America.

The ol*est evidence of pumpkin-related seeds dates back to somewhere between 7000 and 5500 BC and were found in Mexico.

The word pumpkin originates from the word pepon, which is Greek for “large melon”.

Within the past 10 years, white pumpkins have become more popular in the United States.

1.5 billion pounds of pumpkins are produced in the United States each year.

In September 2012, Ron Wallace’s 2,009 pound Atlantic Giant pumpkin in Rhode Island set the current world record.

Canned pumpkin may be recommended by veterinarians as a dietary supplement for dogs and cats that are experiencing certain digestive ailments.

Help yourself to a pumpkin choc chip cookie.

Yum!

Hiya Dr. T, Claudie, Don, iceeman99, and Lighting. Thanks for dropping by.

Dr. T - Thank you. Because it was quicker, we watched and listened to the Sunday movie on C's computer. Really enjoyed it. It was a fitting tribute to an excellent pianist.

Claudie - Thank you. I watched the end of the Falcons game and just could not believe it. Looked like both teams were trying to lose it. The Falcons need to start playing the whole game.

I'm glad your mom enjoyed Steak'n'Shake. They do have some skinny fries and not bad food too.

Hope you have a wonderful day today.

Don - Thank you. I tried to enjoy yesterday and it worked for the most part. It was windy but nice around here. Sun was out all day.

Hope you have a really nice day.

Lighting - Thank you. I agree on the football game. Not much has been happening in the second half of Falcons' games lately.

Sounds like you did quite a bit of work outside on that property over the weekend. Really nice weather too.

Hope the day goes well for you. Take care.

Good Morning EXPM-Dave!!

Those Falcon drop another game. Didn't do anything in the second half.
How do they think they our going to win. Time for a new coach the way
there playing. Player our over rated. There in it for the money.

That why I watch college Football. Lots of action going on. Never a doll
moment win or lose.

Work on the big property yesterday and Saturday blowing leaves.
Had to get them off of the fescue. They had it seed three weeks ago.
Blow it over on to the Bermuda and use the lawn tractor with the Cyclone
to pickup the leaves. Need to go back and pickup the sticks in the yard.

59° clear sky. Looks to be low 80's today.

Enjoy your Monday while having fun in Life.............

Good morning, XP,

Welcome back indeed! :)

Well, today's going to be just a tad different, as far as the Falcons' game goes. You see, they are playing against the Detroit Lions in London! The game starts at 2:30 PM London time, and that's...9:30 AM ET!! Oh, my! What a crazy time for a football game! Other than watching the game, well, that'll pretty much be it for this day!

Have a great day!

Good Morning XP,
Welcome Back!

Your Sunday movie is Love Songs performed by BJ Morbitzer.

From the website by Steve Politte, "I made this video in honor of B.J. Morbitzer's 70th birthday on the Sunday, October 26. Two beautiful Love Songs as performed by him, in one video. Happy Birthday B.J. God bless and enjoy."

You may want to listen as you post or simply take time out to listen to the music. If you don't have 6 minutes then listen to as much as you have time for. It's up to you if you either watch or pass on the graphics.

Enjoy~

Good Morning XP and Friends,

Your Sunday movie is entitled Autumn is Near, from Chee Chee Martin.

The music is "Sweetness and Light" by Chuck Brown.

The movie is shorter than stated unless you want to listen longer to the music. After the credits there is a poem which concludes the graphics.

Hoping you have a peaceful autumn Sunday!
