Good morning, XP,

Boy, did I ever have computer problems yesterday, but thanks to my brother, I can get back onto the internet! For some reason or another, late morning yesterday, I couldn't get onto the internet, though, I still had a connection. I finally got ahold of Brother, and, right before hubby and I left for the Falcons' game, he was able to get things straightened out (via phone and Team Viewer). Whew!

It wasn't a good ending to the Falcons game; they lost 24-17. The first half was good (for us) when the starters played. When they finally were pulled (actually in the 1st few minutes of the 3rd quarter), the Falcons were leading 17-10. The ones REALLY trying to make the team didn't do too good after that. :(

Another hot day today (with high humidity and dew points) here in the Atlanta area. UGH! I believe I will just stay home today.

Have a great day!

Good morning, XP

Today is mostly a stay--at-home day...that is, until about 4:30 when hubby and I head out, first, to an eating place and then to downtown Atlanta for a Falcons' preseason game in the Georgia Dome. The game starts at 7 PM, which isn't TOO bad; shouldn't put us back home tonight too late. This is probably the best one of the 4 preseason games b/c the starters play for a whole lot of the game. Looking forward to when the 'regular' season starts, though, on September 7th. :)

Hope you get your computer fixed soon.

Have a great day!

Good Morning XP,
A recent sunset posted on the County web site by Ken Gagne.

Not Good Bye, only farewell for now. I hope your computer is fixable and you will soon return.

Continuing:

A guy took his blonde girlfriend to her first football game. They had great seats right behind their team's bench. After the game, he asked her how she liked the experience. "Oh, I really liked it," she replied, "especially the tight pants and all the big muscles, but I just couldn't understand why they were killing each other over 25 cents." Dumbfounded, her date asked, "What do you mean?" "Well, they flipped a coin, one team got it, and then for the rest of the game, all they kept screaming was, 'Get the quarterback! Get the quarterback!' I'm like, hello? It's only 25 cents!"

Good morning, XP,

I got my hairs cut yesterday, too. :)

Today? It's going to be a stay-at-home day for me, and a HOT one at that; it's supposed to be in the mid-to-upper-90s with a high dew point. :( Thank goodness for AC!

Have a good day!

Hello, EXPAPERMAKER! I hope all is well with you.

Unfortunately, I have a lot of things I need to accomplish over the next few days. I have to finish these things up since school will be starting next Monday. So I won't be posting on GB.

Once school starts up, I will see how things are going and decide on a posting schedule from there.

You can leave messages at my home (whatever length you want), however I won't be individually responding to them. I'll read through your posts whenever I get the chance. I hope to be back soon!

Thanks for your understanding! Have a great day!

Hiya Claudie, Dr. T, iceeman99, and Don. Thanks for dropping by.

Claudie - Thank you. All right! I see you mom's doctor appointment was great! Got in quickly and everything was good. No adjustments on the meds and she doesn't have to go back so soon. I'm happy for both of you.

I see you did so well you got some other errands done and are going to get your ears lowered later too. Take them happy feet and skip to the hairdressers for happy hairs too. :)

Must be your week finally. You did really well with the Discount yesterday too. Hope all this good stuff continues for you. :)

Enjoy the rest of your day.

Dr. T - Thank you. A lot of days I wish could do what that meese is doing...just fly away. :)

Sounds like your body was telling you to rest and you did. I'm sure you must feel at least a little better today. That was a lick of work you did yesterday. Even did your own lawn mowing. Hope you're taking it a little easier today.

I have plenty to read for a while now. I started the Patterson book earlier. As usual, it won't take long to read. Lots of pages and very few words. :)

I snitched this one today too. We both got a laugh to start the day. :)

Don - Thank you. Looks like we might get hit with some more heavy rain today. It's showing on the radar on the other side of the pond from us and heading this way. If it doesn't break up too much on the trip across, we should at least get something. We'll see.

Hope you're having a really nice day.

Have A Great Evening Everyone!

P.S. Lighting hope all is well with you today. Take care.

Good Morning XP,

Claudie says she's later this morning; me, too. Not only did I sleep last evening, but I slept 7 hours last night until 3:36. Could be as a result of all I did yesterday. I seem to have survived. Might be the same today, but NO mowing since it's done. Have to see what the weather brings. I can't weed in the same area, either as I watered some and will continue when the water is turned on at 9:00.

I hope you did get more reading materials and are engaged in a good book.

Continuing:

There are 11 people hanging onto a rope that comes down from an airplane. 10 of them are blonde, and one is a brunette. They all decide that one person should get off because if they don't, the rope will break and everyone will die. No one can decide who should go, so finally the brunette delivers a very touching speech, ending with the words, "I'll get off." The blondes, all moved by the brunette's speech, start clapping. Problem solved.

Happy Thursday!

Good morning, XP,

I am getting a little later start this morning; the only thing really on the agenda is to take Mom to a cardiologist appointment and (hopefully) checking her sodium and potassium numbers. That appointment is at 10. Hoping for a not-too-long wait and some good info, though, I am going to guess that her potassium dosage might be adjusted.

That's it!

Had a good trip to the grocery store yesterday; got about $3.50 for the senior discount. Yes, been pretty lucky in being able to go on Wednesdays, but not next week; another doctor's appointment for Mom (at 10:45).

Have a great day!

sorta sunny tweet

Hiya Claudie, Dr. T, Lighting, and Don. Thanks for dropping by.

Claudie - Thank you. I see there weren't any glitches with your mom's bloodwork this morning. After yesterday, you deserved a nice smooth one and you got it. Glad to hear it.

Hope your store trip was profitable too. I'm sure you got the Discount again. You're getting pretty good at not missing it lately. :)

Enjoy the rest of your day.

Dr. T - Thank you. Nice picture of the osprey in motion.

I'm done with I'm going to do today with the ShopVac. Got the big puddles all sucked up. There is still some seepage so I'm letting that go until tomorrow and hoping when I suck that up, that will be it.

The 2" of rain really wouldn't have bothered anything much if it had been a nice, gentle all-day rain. The deluge we got was too much water trying to find a place to go all at once. Some went into the ground where it was needed but a lot of it just ran off and washed out parts of the yard and of course, ran into my basement.

You're probably getting out in your yard anyway. Rhonda usually isn't right. More than likely sunny where you are now. :)

I did like that library joke and this one isn't too bad either. It's definitely a stretch even for a blonde. :)

Lighting - Thank you. I hear you with the yard clean up. After the storms here yesterday, I have a lot of that to do myself.

Hope today is going well for you. Take care.

Don - Thank you. Kind of like what happened here yesterday. 2" of rain came down too hard and too fast. Got more than my feet wet. Flooded the basement again too. Me and Mr. ShopVac have been busy.

Grass cutting will happen again here for sure now. Hopefully by the end of the week if it dries out enough.

Thanks for the explanation about the workouts. She goes once a week and walks the rest of the week. See you got yours in today. :)

Glad that the Dr. appt. is just a look at it and tell her it looks fine. Of course, it's $200 please. :)

Hope you're having a really nice day.

Have A Great Evening Everyone!

Good Morning XP,
Photo by Ken Gagne off the county web site. Osprey swoops along the coast looking for his breakfast.

My computers were fine, too, but why wait until there is a problem to address it? It's a lot easier to remove the potential offender, in my opinion.

Please take it easy with your up and down the stairs today and your session with you shop vacuum. Sounds like more than enough of a project for one day. Is all this because of the 2" of rain you received. Sounds like you can't win. You need the rain but not the extra work associated with it.

Humm, not sure what I am doing today. Rhonda says...as I type, cloud cover most of the day. Could keep me out of the yard, but then we know Rhonda's predictions, usually wrong. Too much to do outside, again.

I thought you might like the library joke. I did.

Blonde jokes continue:

Blonde: "I'm on the road a lot, and my clients are complaining that they can never reach me."

Psychiatrist: "Don't you have a cell phone?"

Blonde: "They're too expensive, so I did the next best thing: I put a mailbox in my car."

Psychiatrist: "And do you receive any letters?"

Blonde: "No, but I figure it's because when I'm driving around, my zip code keeps changing."

Good morning, XP,

Well, it's another early morning out for me. B/c of a screw-up at the PCP's office (lab work) yesterday, I have to take Mom to the cardiologist's office (thank goodness, just across the street from her place!) for some MORE bloodwork; gotta get blood drawn to check her sodium and potassium at a 9:15 appointment (for tomorrow's 10 AM cardiologist appointment). Hopefully it won't take long, and then I'll take Mom back home before I continue with my planned errands. Hoping for no glitches today. :)

Have a great day!

wet, booming tweet

Hiya Claudie, Dr. Tx2, and Don. Thanks for dropping by.

Claudie - Thank you. That was a great surprise from Alhana this morning. I think she is missing her grandma. :) I'll bet that started your day right after you recovered from the shock. :)

I read about your misadventures at the doctor with your mom this morning. What a mess. Don't those people communicate with one another and have any common sense at all? Sure hope you can at least get some of it straightened out.

Thankfully your WM trip went OK after all the mess before it.

Hope the rest of your day goes a lot better.

Dr. T - Thank you twice. I will pass that MS notice to C. when she gets home. That update installed on her computer several days ago and as far as I know, it's been fine since then. ???

Nice pic of Mr. Seagull.

I did sleep a little better last night so I'm not quite as foggy today. Day was going fine until this storm. I've made 5 trips to the basement since it started. I have a Rube Goldberg thingie with a drain through the wall behind the furnace to keep it from getting soaked. Invention of my late furnace man. Only drawback is you have to keep switching the buckets and carrying them up and out until the rain slows down or stops. Nothing I can do about the other side of the basement. Going to be introducing myself to Mr. ShopVac for a while tomorrow.

I snitched that joke from TL this morning and shared it with C. We both thought is was really funny. :)

Don - Thank you. We finally got some rain and then some. Flooded everything. Have to check the rain gauge for the total later. I'd have to wade through ankle deep water to see it right now.

Hope you're having a really nice day.

Have A Great Evening Everyone!

P.S. Lighting hope your day is going well. Take care.

Good Morning XP,
Jonathan Seagull from Ken Gagne, posted on the County web site.

The computer note will not apply to you with MS XP, but it would apply to C.

I'm retired too, but most days I'd never know it. Wish I felt like doing more than I do, but you know how that goes. Running late this morning with that MS announcement and taking care of removing the one update from my computers. Still have the others to do.

Not sure what time I will head for town, but it will take a big chunk out of the middle of my day.

I hope you slept better last night and today is going well.

For those of you with a good memory you will remember back when, I said that blonde jokes would continue. It's that time!

Once a blonde went to the library to get a book.

A few days later, she returns and says to librarian at the counter, "This book was very boring.

It had too many characters and too many numbers, so i would like to return it."

The librarian says to the other librarian, "So here is the person who took our phone book!"

Have a Terrific Tuesday!

IMPORTANT, EVERYONE!!!!!

Microsoft pulls its August Windows update after users report crashes!

Microsoft said that it discovered issues relating to four individual updates associated with the August Update: 2982791, 2970228, 2975719, and 297533. The updates addressed security and features, and began rolling out on August 2.

Microsoft updated its security bulletin MS14-045 on Friday to warn users of issues associated with the updates. “Microsoft is investigating behavior associated with the installation of this update, and will update this bulletin when more information becomes available,” the company wrote. “Microsoft recommends that customers uninstall this update. As an added precaution, Microsoft has removed the download links to the 2982791 security update.”

MS14-045 applies to Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 8.1, plus Windows Vista and Windows Server 2003.

Here is the whole article.

Good morning, XP,

Whoo! Just got a scary surprise. It's about 7 AM here and the phone rings. Yikes! I figured it was either Mom or Daughter. Instead it was.....Alhana (her mom was there with her and had given her permission to call)! She just wanted to say that she hoped I had a good day. :) We talked for a few minutes and then hung up. A nice way to start the day.

I'm picking up Mom a little earlier this morning b/c she has to go to the doctor's office to do blood work for an appointment next week. Since it's a fasting lab, we're going earlier and then she can eat something on the way to WM (she didn't want to stop somewhere). Hoping, too, that I can get her back home for another r 10:30 activity. After that, for me, I might have a coupla places to stop, and then it's on back home. Not too bad a morning, but an earlier one.

Have a great day!

cloudy, muggy tweet

Hiya Justinx2, Claudie, Dr. T, and Don. Thanks for dropping by.

Justin - Thank you twice...again. I see you're still getting ordering practice at work. Good for you. You must be getting pretty good at it by now.

Always glad to hear that grandma is happy and doing well.

I got very confused with your accounting and office work. Glad that you understand it. It would drive me nuts. :)

That shrimp fried rice sounds really good. Haven't had that for many moons.

I'm happy that Jackie was nice to your mom and I really like what she told her about getting hours closer to home. Barney's doesn't sound like a good place to work anyway.

Really nice picture of your grandma and mom. I like those t-shirts. Too bad I don't like lobster. :) The Tree House is interesting looking.

Hope everything is going smoothly for you today. Enjoy yourself.

Claudie - Thank you. You are good. Got all your stuff done and now you're free to go and something else.

Too bad your "normal" weather is back. Kind of the same here. Getting warmer and muggier each day and they're saying 90's by the end of the week. Yuck!

Good move doing the nail salon. I'll bet those "happy feet" helped speed you through the other errands later. :)

Enjoy the rest of your day.

Dr. T - Thank you. Nethugs videos sometimes take longer as do any other videos. The power point presentations are usually much faster.

I don't really look for anything to do on purpose. I'm supposed to be retired but things than need/have to be done seem to find me. I'm sluggish in this kind of weather anyway but with very little sleep last night, even reading doesn't work very well today.

Sure hope somebody finds the poor turtle and they can help it get warm and relocated. Quite a story.

Don - Thank you. Nice rain total for you. We still didn't get anything. Those temps later this week don't sound too good though. Might be in the 90's here by then too.

That's great that both of you went to the gym together. Didn't know you guys did that.

Good deal on the haircut. Nice to live with your "barber". :)

Our gas is $3.30 right now but likely to go up again tomorrow.

Good luck with your mowing. Hope you have a great rest of the day.

Have A Great Evening Everyone!

P.S. Lighting hope you're having a good day. Take care.

Good afternoon, EXPAPERMAKER!

Today’s Pictures:
Lobstermania Details

Tree House

Yesterday I worked 3:30 pm - 11:30 pm, in the office. After work, Mom and I had Shrimp Fried Rice for dinner. Today we ran some errands. One of those errands included Mom talking with Jackie about hours. Jackie said that it shouldn’t be a problem getting Mom 16 hours whether it be at Al’s Karwick or Al’s Franklin (my store). Today I work 3:30 pm - 11:30 pm, in the office.
