Good morning, JM,

Yes, we made it back to the ALF for Mom's 10:30 meeting; in fact, we got back about 10:15 since she didn't have too much to get.

Watching the Super Bowl? Hmmmm, I don't know; maybe some of it. I like watching the commercials, though.

BTW, the Hawks play tonight; another home game.

One more planned out-and-about day for me...I'll first make a quick stop at Mom's, then make a quick stop in the dollar store for a birthday card (for Alhana); a stop at the Kroger gas station where gas is about $1.85/gallon (and I'll use up the remaining 400 fuel points...for an extra 40¢ off); another quick stop to drop off newspapers at the recycling place, and FINALLY to the grocery store! Busy, busy! :) At least it'll be sunny, though, a bit chilly at about 35°.

Have a great day!

Claudie - Good morning. I hope that you were able to make it back in time from WM so that your mother would be able to make the meeting. Are you planning on watching the Super Bowl?

Dino - We may not see snow this year but, we had a couple of cold days so far. If we have a chance for any snow, it will have to happen next week.

Good evening JM

Just another day at work for me. It's my Hump Dayeee.

I thought I'd spoke too soon about the sn*w last night. We had some more downpours of the white stuff overnight last night and this morning. Officially, the NWS numbers reported 1.5" for Middlebourne and 1" for Parkersburg. Center Point, WV reported 9".

A chilly night in store here. Temp hovering around 20 as I type this. In addition to the Lady Bobcats, I do follow the Lady Patriots at Parkersburg South High School as well. Tonight they were scheduled to play Morgantown in a rematch of the championship game last season. Morgantown won the last bout and their dominance, unfortunately continues. Just found the final score. Morgantown 47 South 34. Lady Patriots are 12-3 on the season.

Cold tonight lows in the teens.

Good morning, JM,

It was very cloudy and VERY windy yesterday, but the yard guy came at 1 PM and stayed a coupla hours cleaning up the tree mess (will try to make a GB album). I'd say he got about 75% of it done; the rest can wait until the weather's a little warmer. I think we're supposed to have more sun today, but way less wind.

It's Tuesday, so I'm taking Mom to WM this morning; actually a little bit earlier than I would normally. There's a resident monthly meeting today at 10:30 and Mom wants to be there. That shouldn't be a problem. :) After I drop here back off, I have to stop at the vet's office to pick up a refill for my big boy kitty and then home it'll be. :)

I still haven't heard of any results from ANY of the tests Mom and I have taken. I'm most concerned about the results from Mom's blood work last Tuesday, hoping her sodium level is alright. It looks like I'm going to have to call people. :(

Have a great day!

Good evening JM

Thanks buddy

The snow event is over for us for now. We got less than 2" of new snow. Places south of Moundsville even got rain and/or sleet. Most of the worst of it is headed north toward Midnight Sun's area if it hasn't reached him already. I know he's ready for it.

Lady Bobcats have won two in a row. Got the official word from the girl who got 3 steals and 4 rebounds in her time of playing. She told me a really amusing story about the game where one of the other players got the ball from them and started down the court. Emily caught her. And by surprise. The team now sits at 4-3 with their next game, which I'll be attending, against Parkersburg Catholic on Wednesday.

Off and on flurries here. Temps in the low 20s.

Good morning, JM,

Sounds like that hotel was a nice one; I'll have to check it out.

It's going to be a busy day for me today. First I'm going to the nail salon for a pedicure; on the way home, depending on the time, I have several stops to make (if I don't get them done today, hopefully tomorrow or Wednesday). Then about 1 PM the yard guy's supposed to be coming; a week or so ago, it was REAL, REAL windy all day long, and apparently it blew a tree down in the woods, and it just missed hubby's workshop (pix on FB, for those of you who go there). It didn't hurt the shop at all, but is now laying right up to it. The yard guy's supposed to take care of it for us. What a mess! Thank goodness it's supposed to be an alright-type of day.

Have a great day!

Good evening JM

Thanks a lot. God bless you.

Thanks first and foremost to all who commented with thoughts and prayers this weekend for Madeline. God bless you all.

One story comes to mind. The day of her funeral it was a chilly day, but typical for late January. The service was held in a small Temple at Sunset Memorial Gardens. The sermon was delivered by a wonderful man in Pastor Dale. A longtime friend of the family. It was a packed house and we allowed Emily to stand up front with her late Sister as Mr. Dale gave the sermon. Not a dry eye in the place. When we left the temple, the snow started to fall briefly and then the sun came out. It was as if she was saying "I'm okay. I made it home."

Fast forward to 2008, her first birthday. We did dinner out and then went up to visit her grave. While we were there, we seen clouds in the sky in the shape of an Angel. They would go on to morph into a butterfly. Quite a sight to see after dark. When we left and started home, it poured the snow down.

Now on this past Friday evening. It snowed again enough to cover our backyard and it was those same fat flakes that fell at her funeral service. I think of her everytime they fall.

Thanks to all once again. You guys are the greatest supporting cast around even if we've never met in person. Your kind words mean a lot. See you tomorrow night.

Claudie - Good morning. We will leave for Atlanta around 1 today, Alex's appointment is at 4. Go Hawks! I listened to a sport reporter on ESPN that was saying how OKC were on a roll and they have everyone back from injuries. He said the OKC would beat our Hawks and start their move to the top of the division. Well, we know how it came out, number 15.

Good morning, JM,

How 'bout them Hawks? Whoooeee! 15 in a row! They play again tomorrow evening (at home) ay 6 PM.

Another good visit to my medical facility; 2 'tests' taken care of and back home by 10 AM. :) No problems whatsoever with the light rain or traffic (hubby DID drive). Yay for me! :) Now to hopefully get all the test results soon (including the stress test).

All the warmer temps and rain have now moved out of our area, and we're in for high temps 'only' in the mid-to-upper-40s (as opposed to the low 60s). We got a good dousing of rain yesterday, too...a little more than an inch at my house. Now for some drying out and sunshine.

Staying home today! :)

Have a safe trip to the city!

Good morning, JM,

Another good morning out yesterday, and it all had to do with the time I got in and out of the chiro. :)

It's raining, raining, raining here, and quite steadily at that. Thank goodness the temps are not too cold; it's 'only' about 45°, but that's enough to keep the precip liquid.

I'll be heading out in a coupla hours to go get 2 'routine' tests taken care of; these were 2 of 4 tests that were ordered for me to do when I went to for a medical appointment a coupla weeks ago. The medical facility is about 30 minutes north of me, so we'll see how traffic is when I head out. Hubby might me driving b/c it IS raining and quite steadily. No plans for stops afterwards so I hope to be back by mid-morning.

Go, Hawks!

Good evening JM

We have the entire trilogy saved on our DVR. If it does come on one of the channels, I find myself watching it every time. The 'Cats play Jackson at home on Monday. That'll be a toughie. They lost the first one against them by 8 points.

Dylan's game didn't go as well tonight, but he played some great defense when he was in. The Knights fell by a score of 53-27. The winning team this evening was called "Short Line" after the rail road in Monopoly. Not sure how they came up with it. I counted about 3 steals for Dylan and a few rebounds as well so he made his time in the game worthwhile.

I did Dino's Jukebox last night for a special reason. As many of you know that follow me here, Saturday is my youngest Daughter Madeline's birthday. The story behind her was that she was born January 24, 2007 to me and my ex Wife. She had to be taken while FMD was only 27 weeks pregnant. Madeline lived only 44 hours and returned to Heaven on Friday January 26, 2007. When you lose someone near and dear to you, you never stop thinking of them. Tonight, I decided on a different tune to wish her a happy 8th birthday. She may not be here physically, but she'll always be in my heart. See you Sunday buddies.

Good morning, JM,

Glad you missed all the snowing when you went to Michigan.

We had a good visit with hubby's sister and her husband yesterday; got into no traffic either! BTW, they live in Austell.

Alright! A chiro appointment for me this morning, and, boy! Do I need it, what with all the stress I've had the last coupla weeks! After my appointment there, it's off to the grocery store for me. No senior discount for me, though, but maybe I can find some good deals.

Good evening JM

Lady 'Cats were victorious today in a nail biter.

Lady Bobcats victorious tonight defeating Williamstown 44-40. Emily didn't get any playing time, but she did get the best seat in the house cheering on her team. It's always great to hear how much she's into the games. They are now 3-3 on the season.

I am doing this week's Dino's Jukebox today. We'll do the "Wild Card" edition next Thursday. This week we're going back 30 years to 1985. Ronald Regan was getting ready to start his second term as Commander In Chief after defeating Walter Mondale in a lopsided victory that was decided by around 9 PM in the east. At the movies, Michael J. Fox starred in one of my all time favorite trilogies. In the sequel, Marty and Doc go to 2015 to save Marty's kid from certain trouble. There were Hover boards, self tying shoes, and the Chicago Cubs win the World Series. Personally, I'll hold out for that Pepsi Perfect. Tonight's featured tune comes from that original movie. It's time to go back to the future.

Good morning, JM,

Two more nice days (including today) and then rain's supposed to move in for the weekend.

It was a really good day out yesterday! The wait at the hospital (to do Mom's blood work) wasn't long at all; we got that done, went to the store, did our shopping, and I got Mom home by 11! That included going back roads again b/c of all the traffic on the interstate! :)

I called the doctor's office and found out that Mom's protimes were in the acceptable range. When she goes back for the next check-up, I'm going to see if the gal at the ALF can take her, though.

Hubby and I are going to visit his sister today (on the northwest side of Atlanta). On the way there, though, we have 3 short stops, one including at Mom's. We should be home by mid-afternoon; got to try and get out of the city before 'rush hour.'

Looking forward to a more relaxing day (out).

Have a great day!

The weather has been nice over the past few days and suppose to be nice again today. I hope that your day went well on yesterday with the errands and have a nice day today.

trevor - Good morning and hi de ho.

Dino - Congratulations on the 32-25 win. I wish them well in their game today. We have enjoyed some nice weather days too, it made to the low to mid 60s the past two days and it should reach the 60s again today. Just a few more week of this weather weather before the 70s and 80s return. Have a great evening.

Good evening JM

Loved the pictures. One of my friends over at fb posted one the other night of me from around 1998. Cool to look back on those.

It is a Tuesday night here. My "Hump day." The Lady Bobcats return to action tomorrow night as they travel their furthest away from home to play Williamstown Middle School. Approximately a 20 minute drive. Not too bad since you can get on US 50 about 5 minutes from the school and follow it to I-77 the rest of the way to Williamstown. Dylan's team, the Knights, will play in nearby Paden City on Thursday. They were victorious last night winning 32-25.

Mild temperatures locally. Reaching the 40s of a daytime here. I'll try to get out to wash the car within the next few days. Take care until then.

Good morning, JM,

Back to work for you today, right? At least it'll only be a 3-day work week for ya. :)

Nice Spring-like weather we're having here (you, too?); it sure feels great for late January! It's supposed to go on for a few more days and then cool back down somewhat. Enjoying it while it's here! :)

It could be a long morning for me today; it just depends. I have to take Mom to the hospital to get blood work done (ordered by the kidney doctor last Thursday). Hoping that there aren't too many people there doing the same thing, but we'll see. After that, I'll be taking Mom to WM (of course!). Once I take her back home, I have one more stop to make for me, and then that'll be it. Thank goodness the sun's going to be out in full force! A nice day to be out!

Have a great day!

Good evening JM

I've enjoyed your pictures over at FB this weekend. Love the "throwback" pics as well. A friend of mine posted a good one of me this evening as well.

Not as busy of a night here. Let's get caught up, shall we?

For starters, new pictures have gone up on Emily's album. They were in action against Edison last week and Robin has pulled through again. The new pictures start here. This shot of the team waiting on the 6th graders to wrap up their game is my favorite.

Secondly, I took advantage of the mild weather January and took Emily to play some one on one basketball. We spent a few good hours playing and topped it off with some Chicken(?) McNuggets for a late lunch. It was great to get out and very enjoyable to hang out with her.

Finally, time for an overdue Dino's Jukebox. The year was 1975. Gerald Ford was our Commander In Chief and the Not Ready For Prime Time Players said some of NBC's famous words for the first time: "Live from New York, It's Saturday night."

The duo I'm playing tonight had the #1 song for 1975. She was the only Beach Boys "Beach Girl" playing keyboards for the Beach Boys along with her future partner, Daryl Dragon. Together, he was known as simply "The Captain" and his Wife, was Catherine "Toni" Tennille. Love did keep them together, but only for 39 years as the couple filed for divorce in 2014. Here's a happier time in their marriage as tonight's Dino's Jukebox.

Good morning, JM,

Whew! So much travelling for y'all this weekend!

It's another stay-at-home day for me. Of course, I'll find things to do. Hubby's pretty much going to be watching TV most of the day...he starts off at 9 AM, watching some kind of car shows that last until 11. Then there'll be a 'short' break until about 3 PM ET (I wonder if I can get him to do some things for me?), when he'll start watching the championship football games. He doesn't have a favorite team, I don't think, but he'll be watching the games anyway. Me? I don't care WHO wins either game!

Have a great day!
