Good morning, JM,

Ugh! It's is muggy this morning! 77° already and a dew point of 71°! Like I said, UGH!

Wow! You did a lot of travelling back-and-forth this weekend!

Today is a Monday that the yard guy comes. I let him know he could come earlier, if he wanted to, since it was going to be another hot day; I'm guessing he might get here between 8 and 8:30. Good for me, too, b/c I have several short errands I need to take care of as soon as he leaves(can't work them in somewhere else).

Today is also the day that Daughter goes back to work (she's a teacher in the county I live in); all this week is what's called 'pre-planning' with 'open houses' being on Thursday. School starts for the kids next Monday. :)

Have a great day!

We drove back to Chattanooga on Saturday evening to attend the 65th birthday celebration of a friend and co-worker. We attend church in Chattanooga before returning to Atlanta for the family banquet. I hope that your weekend went well, have a good start to your week. {{{hugs}}}

Good evening JM

It was a pretty good weekend with Emily. Long overdue.

Back to start the work week. Storms are rumbling through the area. New Martinsville got the worst of the storms getting high wind and hail. Driving through the area on the way into work tonight and half the town is without power. What I'd heard so far is that no one was seriously hurt. One business got the roof ripped off of them and a few trees were uprooted. Tornado watch is still in effect for us until 3 AM.

Saturday went very well for Emily and I. If your friends with me on facebook, you seen the two videos of her hitting the golf ball at the driving range and sinking a three pointer on the basketball court. Where were these when she was actually playing, I have no clue.

Time to get this week started. Weekend officially over for me. C Ya

Good Morning, JMBoykinII ♫ So glad you and your family had a great Reunion yesterday! I saw your pictures on FB. So glad you and yours had a blessed Sunday at Church. Enjoy your time afterward with the Reunion. {{{{{Hugs}}}}} for all of you.

Yes, you are blessed that your family live in the U.S. and can gather together for Reunions. You are correct that having family overseas makes it more difficult and expensive to do Reunions.

Thank you for the like on my FB picture with my gala apple tree and fruit! I posted additional pictures on FB last night and this morning with the Fig Fest and dragon fruit flowers, and you are invited to √ them all out when you get a chance later on.

Today after Church, I look forward to enjoying my day of rest.

Good Morning, JMBoykinII ♩ Wishing you and your family a wonderful time together at your Wife's Side of the Family's Reunion! {{{{Hugs}}}} for all of you. That is good they will be doing this.

As for us, it is very expensive and difficult to gather together for a Family Reunion, because most of the relatives on my Mom's side live in the Philippines, and round trip tickets going to and from the Philippines costs in the thousands of dollars. With some of us living in different states in the U.S., and some relatives abroad in other countries, it is too difficult and costly to coordinate a Reunion with almost everyone present. But thankfully FB helps us stay in touch easily.

Thank you for asking about my plans for the weekend. It will be another free routine weekend, but I do look forward to the Fig Picking with my Mom at the home of my former Professor's Widow. Her figs are incredibly delicious!

Thank you as always for the ongoing prayers for my job searches. Thankfully our family friend Kim visited at our home yesterday and she shared about 20 openings at Costco. I definitely plan on applying there. I will update you if there is any big news regarding future salaried jobs. I know that I can make it in commissioned sales, in careers like Real Estate, but irregular commission income is just too difficult and stressful to live by, when bills must be paid every month. That is why I decided to continue my job searches instead of going full-swing with Real Estate.

Today I look forward to a full day of doing tasks and errands as needed. This afternoon my Mom and I will visit the Widow of one of my former College Professors, as she is hosting a Fig Fest fig picking event at her home. Her fig tree is so loaded with figs, she needs people to help her pick her fruits so that they will not get eaten by creatures like racoons, squirrels, possums, etc.

Have a Great Saturday!

You're welcome on the Def Lep bio

Stopping in for a rare (for me) Friday night. Not from work but from the cozy confines of Home Sweet Home. Fixed some red beans and rice for dinner and enjoyed the likes of the TV shows Shark Tank, Brain Games, and Pawn Stars. Heading to Parkersburg in the morning to get Emily for the afternoon. MusicTeacher - Good morning. Most of my career, I worked the traditional 5 days a week, 8 hours a day; the 4 days 10 hours did not start for me until late 2004. Good evening JM

Thanks for the birthday wishes to Mrs. K. Next up for Emily is the basketball camp at Marietta College and then back to the Elite Center for the Fall Fun League starting in September. For us, and especially her, basketball season never ends.

Time now for Dino's Jukebox. This week's selection comes in mind with the birthday girl in mind as this is one of Mrs. K's favorite groups. It's been one of mine for a long time as well dating back to the late 1980s.

They got their start practicing in an old warehouse in Sheffield, England releasing their first EP in 1979 selling a modest number of copies. They would refine their sound and go through a few lineup changes through the early '80s releasing three more albums. Tragedy struck the band when their drummer lost his arm in a car accident New Year's Eve 1984. When they thought they'd need to find another drummer, Rick Allen said since he couldn't play with his left arm, but could play with his left foot. If you see them in concert, you'll see a one armed drummer with a specially designed drum kit he plays with his feet. And he plays it well.

When we got into the 1990s, the rock scene was changing direction and the band did the same thing turning to alternative styles of music as opposed to the powerful arena pop rock sound they embraced throughout the 1980s which brings up tonight's jukebox selection. You'll find this song on their 1994 release Retro Active and has a mellow sound to it hopefully will enjoy.

Good Morning, JMBoykinII ♪ That is good you had a productive busy day yesterday. I hope today will be a more peaceful work day as you wrap up your biz for this week and prepare for your long weekend ahead. {{{{Hugs}}}} for you and yours.

It is a blessing that most of the time, you can work four days a week and have three days off on the weekends. During a part of my Mom's working years, she worked a 10/40 schedule, with 10 hour workdays for four days, and three days off from work from Friday through Sundays. But most of the time my Mom worked a traditional work schedule. She is grateful to be retired now with great ongoing benefits from her job.

Thank you for sharing how the down economy affected you too. But thanks to God that you were able to make it through those more difficult times in your life.

Whenever I see going out of biz around town, I always think about those who will lose their jobs after their biz closes down. But I still believe in the power of prayers and faith in God as our Great Provider.

Yes, my Mom and I had a nice day yesterday at Prayer Meeting, with helping Juanita with a ride to visit her friend at the Convalescent Hospital, and with errands.

Today I will be attending and √ing out the Job Fair in my hometown. This evening my Mom and I look forward to attending the Farmer's Market. I look forward to doing tasks and errands as needed during the off hours.

Good evening JM

Great evening and a great trip to Parkersburg tonight. Enjoyed a double header with Emily's summer league basketball. The first game got ugly in a hurry with the Bobcats losing 48-13. In all fairness, the other team had a girl that couldn't miss. So, they regrouped and went out to play a second game again Vandevender who, as you may remember, they won against to end the regular season last winter. They played pretty evenly in the first half with the score tied 7-7. The second period the coach made some adjustments in his lineup and they came out victorious winning 17-11. Emily had 2 points, 7 rebounds, and a wide smile on her face after this one. That game wraps up their summer league play. She'll attend a two week camp at one of the local colleges in August and will be back for the Fall league at the Elite center in September. One thing is for sure, the season never ends.

Rain is moving out. We'll see temps in the 70s tomorrow. Great day for a birthday. Who's? Mrs. K's, of course. See you tomorrow night.

Good morning, JM,

I am not surprised that the room rates at the Mariott are high; I always thought that was a high-end type hotel.

I thought I made a really good buy at WM yesterday (when I took Mom). I found blueberries for $2.49/pint; that was less than I had bought any before. So then I go online last night to see the grocery store's weekly ad, and what do I see? Blueberries for $1.87/pint! Sheesh! I'll pick up some more anyway and see if Daughter wants some (I know she probably will b/c Emma LOVES blueberries!). Red grapes are also on sale for 99ยข/lb and that's a great price, too!

I have several errands to run this morning, starting off with going back to WM to pick up a 'script for Mom (the doctor's office wasn't able to get it called in so we could pick it up, but, apparently now it's there and ready). After I go to her place, then I'll head back to the grocery store for my weekly shopping. Once I get back home, I might go to Daughter's house to visit for a short time. We'll see. :)

Seemed appropriate this evening on the way to work, bouncing from radio station to radio station when I found one playing "Manic Monday" from the Bangles. I hope it's not a sign.

Enjoying some blueberries and getting ready to start another night. One of my favorite parts of summer. The many various berries available.

Another death in the Wood County school system happened over the weekend. This time it was Tom Eschbacher (pronounced "Esh Bocker") the principal at Parkersburg South high school. He would die of brain cancer at age 51.

It pretty much rained most of the day yesterday (just like Saturday). We ended up getting about another inch, and that makes the total about 2½ inches for Saturday and Sunday. Wow! Everything's so wet! Good thing this wasn't the scheduled Monday for the yard guy to come; we'd definitely have to reschedule!

So are those Falcons/Saints tickets you plan to get already reserved in your name and you just have to pick them up? Hope so b/c tickets to that game are going to be really hard to get as time gets closer to the game. Well, you'll still be able to get them, but they'll be waaaaay more expensive! BTW, I had somebuddy who bought some of my tickets last year...ask me if I was selling the tickets; I said noooooo waaaaay!

Did you know that yesterday was the 45th anniversary of man first walking on the moon? I sure remember watching the TV with my family when Neil Armstrong got out and and took those first steps!

Well, I'm going back out and about today! Looks like any rain is supposed to be for this afternoon, so I should stay dry. I've got an appointment at the nail salon and then a coupla places to stop on the way home. It should be an good morning out. :)

Have a great day!

trevor - Good morning and hi de ho.

MusicTeacher - Good morning. We will have a family reunion gathering in Atlanta this weekend, it is my wife's family reunion. The reunion will go from Friday through Sunday, we are looking forward to this event. I hope that your Sunday went well and that you have a great start to your week. {{{hugs}}}

Dino - Good morning. To reach this plateau of 1500 days, I had to get the international phone plan in order to post while on my cruise. This was the only reason why I purchased the international plan. I hope that you enjoyed your weekend off. We are having our share of rain, too. Well, enjoy the day.

Good evening JM

1500 days. Wow. That's quite an accomplishment. My next goal here is 200. I'm 53 days away.

Back after a weekend off of doing not much. Rain cancelled my plans to mow on Saturday. Got it done Sunday afternoon and the yard looks much better now. As you may know by now, we lost another great actor in James Garner. He was known for several movies and TV shows. However, I grew up in the '70s and I remember him as Jim Rockford. Never watched the show, but my parents did and the theme was what stood out to me. He will be missed

TV Theme from "The Rockford Files"

The heat returns to the area this week. After daytime temps in the 70s last week, we should be pushing 90 most of this week. Time to jump start the week. If it sounds weak, don't worry. It's just the lawn mower.

Good Evening, JMBoykinII ♪ Thank you so much for sharing more about how you landed your present career. Thank God for opening a big door for you in your youth, which set the foundation for your present career success! Yes, God is good and I am happy for you and your family.

Thankfully my Saturday went well with the morning of helping my Mom babysit Jacob until after my Aunt Letty was ready and I picked her up to help us out. After that, my Mom and I were able to get some errands done together.

Thank you for your kind thoughts for my Sunday. Thankfully it went well, as I shared at my Studio with Lunch pictures.

Good Night!

Claudie - I had typed this lengthy message and lost it. Well, we hope to make time to get over to the dome this weekend while in Atlanta to pick up the tickets. We hung out downtown on yesterday, ate at the downtown Applebee's.

MusicTeacher - Good afternoon. We went to the movies on yesterday and we saw the Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and before that, we went downtown and kinda hung out. We had a peaceful Saturday. I hope that Saturday went well. {{{hugs}}}

Good morning, JM,

Well, we did pretty good in the rain department yesterday; it rained off-and-on all day, and we ended up getting 1½ inches in the rain gauge. Nice! :) More is predicted for today, too.

Hubby picked a whole bunch of cherry tomatoes yesterday, and he might eat them today. As for the bigger ones, I don't think any more are ready yet. He will just have to wait another day or 2 to have his tomato sandwiches. :)

No plans to go out today. More porch time maybe :)

Have a great day!

Good Morning, JMBoykinII ♫ Wishing you and your family a blessed and wonderful weekend! {{{{Hugs}}}} for you and yours.

Thank you so much for sharing about your current career and work with the TVA. You surely have lots of responsibilities for the oversight of Engineers in Tennessee, and being an Examiner. Looking forward to learning more about your career and major roles with the TVA. Yes, I read the additional details about your work here. That is wonderful that that you know much about your work and are a Consultant in your field.

As always, thank you for your kind thoughts if my family and I were to visit Chattanooga, TN or Atlanta, GA someday.

My Dad is a retired Engineer Estimator. He worked for two Steel companies, one after the other, here in the U.S. during his working years. In the U.S., my Mom worked 30 years for the County of Los Angeles with the Department of Public Social Services in various roles, with her last one being a Social Worker. She retired several years after my Dad retired.

Thank you so much for √ing out my FB uploads of the last of my Church Camp pictures, and pictures by Castaic Lake on my Birthday this past Sunday. We always visit the same Church Camp every year, but it is the blessed company of family and Church Friends that always makes the retreat a blessing. The Church Camp is like a home away from home for us, since we are so familiar with the venue after camping there together as a Church for 14 years. I only missed one year.

Today I look forward to a full day of doing tasks at home and errands.

Enjoy Your Saturday!

Good morning, JM,

I got a email yesterday that said the Falcons' tickets are supposed to be sent next week. :) Did you get those 'Aints tickets? I've already had a coupla people approach me, wanting to know if I was going to sell mine. Nope! was my answer!

It started raining some time over night, and rained pretty hard (it seemed) at times. When I checked the rain gauge just a while ago, there was about 3-tenths-of-an-inch in it. Looking outside and seeing how drenched everything looks, I would have thought there would be more in the rain gauge. Oh, well, it's better than nothing! The good news is that it's supposed to rain off and on pretty much all day. Happy grass!

Have a great day!

trevor - Good morning and hi de ho.

Claudie - Thank you, sometime it is difficult to make the rounds, I have missed and that is why I am not higher. I am loving this weather, too.

MusicTeacher - Good morning. What we do in our meeting is solve technical problems, evaluate and plan. When the NRC visits, we meet to discus status and they review our design calculations. They sometime go out into the plant and I show them how to locate items. I did see your latter pictures of you at Castaic Lake, thank you for sharing. Just remember, the invitation is always open. {{{hugs}}}

Good Morning, JMBoykinII ♪ Thank you for sharing what you mostly do at work, which is attend Meetings. It sounds more like an Administrative type job. So glad this week's Meetings went well!

Wishing you and your family a wonderful Friday and start to your weekend. {{{{Hugs}}}} for you and yours.

Thank you so much for taking the time to √ out the July 12th Church Camp pictures that I uploaded yesterday, and for the likes. I took over 700 pictures on July 12th, and it took me a long time to organize it all on my computer and upload it to FB. I have remaining pictures to upload today from my actual Birthday at Church Camp and stopovers near Castaic Lake on our way home for Birthday pictures of me in front of the lake. I will be uploading some or all of them later on today, so please √ them out later on this afternoon/evening.

Thank you for your kind hospitality if my family and I were to visit Atlanta, GA someday. Most of my family here in the U.S. is living around the Long Beach, CA area, so I don't see any possibility of moving over there, too far away from the interdependent support of my family and Church Friends. Plus I really want to be there for my Parents in their golden years, so moving too far away from my family, unless it is a once-in-a-lifetime career opportunity for me to be wealthy with a six figure annual income which can help me out and help me support my family at the same time, is not a good idea.

This morning I will be attending a short Music Teachers' Board Meeting since I am their newly elected Corresponding Secretary. Someday if I do land another job outside of music, I can still participate in the Music Teachers' Board by answering my phone and e-mail as needed. After that I will do some errands while I am out and about. At home I will do tasks as needed. Tonight I have three Students to teach.

Happy Aloha Friday!

Claudie - Good morning. Do you have any special weekend plans?

MusicTeacher - Good morning. We had a great week, it was busy but we were able to close out 2 major issues during our visit from the NRC. We are making great progress. I did see the 100 pictures you posted on fb...thanks for sharing them. I can tell that everyone was having a wonderful time. By the way, the invitation is always open if you ever decide to relocate to this part of the country. Have a wonderful day, my friend. {{{hugs}}}

Dino - Good morning. On yesterday, I reached another milestone on GB by posting for 1500 consecative days. It is hard to believe that I made it on here for that many days without missing. I usually only have a max of 10 minutes to do gasbuddy each day, it is a big challenge. Enjoy your day.
