Claudie - Good morning. I love eating at Pappadeaux, the food is pretty good and the prices are comfortable to Red Lobster's. Well, it is time to start this weekend, we are leaving tonight/morning for Michigan. Have a great day.

trevor - Good morning and hi de ho.

Dino - Things are pretty slow for me, many people have already started their Thanksgiving travel. I am looking forward to the four days weekend. Enjoy the rest of your day.

Good evening JM

Definitely busy here. I think it goes with the short week.

Tonight is a special edition of Dino's Jukebox as I won't be here the rest of the week. I want to thank each and everyone of you a happy Thanksgiving.

Tonight's Jukebox tune comes from a band who's band/family has seen some issues in their years together. They started in the late '70s with David Lee Roth singing lead vocals. After the release and tour of the album 1984 (released officially December 31, 1983), they would let Roth go and replace him with Sammy Hagar. The band had a ton of commercial success with Sammy, but problems would arise again and lead to the departure of Hagar in the mid 1990s. In came their third lead singer, Gary Sharone who was with them for only one album. They would bring back Roth for a Greatest Hits album only to let him go again. Rumor is that a new album is scheduled to be released in 2015, but it's hard to tell who will be singing on that one. Tonight's tune is from the last album under the Sammy Hagar era. The best one of the Hagar era in my opinion.

V - Van Halen - "Can't Stop Loving You"

Special programming note: Next week's Dino's Jukebox will be on Tuesday night as well. Have a great Thanksgiving and I'll see you all Sunday night.

Good morning, JM,

Pappadeaux/s, huh? Have heard of that place, but have never been there. How did you like it? Food good? Expensive?

Another busy morning for me. I'm taking Mom to WM a little earlier than normal b/c, on the way back to her place, we have to stop off at the doctor's office (across the street from her) and have blood drawn so her sodium can be checked. After that, I'll take her home. Then sometime before noon (or a little afterwards), I'll be going with Daughter for a short visit with some people she knows. That should then be it for the day. :)

Have a great day!

Claudie - Good morning. I am happy to hear that you made it home safely and without getting too wet. I was hoping that you were able to beat the rough rain. We were in Atlanta, we ate at Pappadeaux before driving back to Chattanooga. Have a wonderful Tuesday.

Good morning, JM,

It certainly was an interesting day yesterday (though, scary at times).

We went to the Falcons game, and, thankfully, only got sprinkled on during the walk to the Dome (it's about a mile walk from our parking lot to the Dome). :) During the game, which the Falcons did not win, we heard thunder a coupla times. I enjoyed the game, though, and being around the people again (haven't seen them for almost 2 months). Just wish we'd had a win.

When it got later in the game and we were ready to go, someone checked the radar on their phone, and saw, oh, no! There was a HUGE green and yellow blob directly to the west of Atlanta! Time to head to the car! Thankfully...again...we only got sprinkled on going back to the car. However, it DID start to rain harder as we were on our way home.

Got home and it was REALLY raining hard and that's when we found out that we were under a tornado WARNING! Yikes! I went outside (in the garage) to check things out and actually heard the tornado sirens....for the first time ever! Scary!

The tornado came kinda close by, too. :( Daughter lives about 10 miles south of us, and we think it passed somewhere between us, maybe just a little closer to her since she had more wind than we did (more than likely it was in the air by that time). Anyway, no damage for us (or Daughter, though, a shed she has in the back yard got tipped a little on its side). It was actually over with faster than you'd think.

Whew! Glad things like that don't happen very often!

It's going to be a busy morning for me, starting with an appointment at the nail salon for a pedicure. After that I have several places to stop before I head home. Thank goodness there's no more threat of rain or bad weather!

Have a great day!

Good morning, JM,

Oh, my gosh! It is absolutely pouring outside right now.....and we're headed to the Falcons game in a few hours (thank goodness the game in inside)! Hope it eases up somewhat, though, it's supposed to be rainy pretty much all day long. Don't relish the thought of getting soaked going from the parking lot to the Dome and then back again later. At least I have a hooded windbreaker and the trusty ol' umbrellas!

Have a great day!

Good morning, JM,

I posted a big boo-boo yesterday; I said I paid $3.34/gallon for my gas fill-up after I used my fuel points from Kroger. In reality, I only paid $2.34! Much, much better!

Hope you don't get caught in the rain that's coming in tomorrow.

Have a safe trip!

Good morning, JM,

I got the phone call from the doctor's office about 4:30 yesterday afternoon; Mom's protimes/INR was acceptable. Stay on the same dosage of medicine and go back in a month.

Whew!

Now I'm hoping we get a good reading on her sodium when she takes care of that on Tuesday.

I also had a good morning out yesterday, and I think it mostly had to do with the fact that I got in and out of the chiro's office in good time! Stopped at a Kroger gas station on the way to Mom's and used some of my fuel points; got 30¢ off, and paid $3.34/gallon. :) Then I went to Mom's and finally the grocery store. No senior discount, but I can live with that. :)

Today I am staying home and doing 'stuff.'

Have a great day!

Good evening JM

It turns out both my basketball playing kids will start playing that Friday. Will likely be at Emily's. Dylan will have another one on Saturday morning as well.

Dino's Jukebox tonight. Tonight's band formed in Dublin, Ireland in 1976. They are ranked #22 in Rolling Stone's list of the 100 greatest artists of all time. They have sold over 150 million records in their existence. A bit of controversy was raised when their newest album, Songs of Innocence was released on to I Tunes accounts everywhere in 2014. The album at that point could be obtained by Apple customers free of charge.

The song tonight peaked at #33 in 1983 and was the first commercial success for the band in the United States. It has been covered several times from various artists including C & C Music Factory and Dierks Bentley.

Good morning, JM,

Whew! It's a lot warmer here this morning than it has been (it's about 34°). I saw on weather.com that it's about 15° warmer now than it was yesterday at this time. Heat wave! We might even get to 60° today (again about 15° warmer than yesterday). A few days of that, and then some colder temps again. <shakes head> I wish it would stay one way or the other, preferably the warmer temps.

Just so you know....it's supposed to rain Sunday. Though we DO need the rain, I don't want it to rain while I'm trying to get to the game! Waaaaahhhhh!

A busy morning for me today. I'm going to the chiro for a 9:30 appointment and then to the grocery store (which I didn't get to go to yesterday b/c I had to take Mom out). In between and maybe after, there will be a coupla more stops, too. Whew! My last busy morning for a coupla days! In the meantime, too, I will be waiting to hear from the doctor's office, hoping for a good protime/INR number. <crosses fingers>

Have a great day!

Good evening JM

Be sure to keep your eyes open over at fb. There will be pictures. First ones coming (hopefully) the weekend of Dec. 5.

Listening to some tunes from what will be the "U" artist for Dino's Jukebox tomorrow night. One week before Thanksgiving Eve here and my company did a catered dinner for us last night. Turkey, Ham, Sweet Potatoes, stuffing, and pumpkin pie. Hungry yet? It does hit the spot when your lunch is at 3 AM. Staying awake until 7 AM with a full stomach. Well, that's a different story.

The extreme cold has left us for now. 40F/4C feels a lot better than the mid teens we've had the last couple of nights. Prayers out to the residents in the Buffalo, NY area who have gotten about 8 feet of the white stuff. Now if we could only melt it and send it to California. Until we figure it out, see you tomorrow.

Good morning, JM,

Oh, my! How 'bout all that snow they got in the Buffalo, NY area? Over 70 inches, I heard! Oh, gosh! I might need to check; I think I have relatives in that area!

Speaking of weather, you say it's supposed to be a nice weekend? Is that in Chattanooga> 'They' say it's supposed to rain on Sunday here. Nooooooo! Not when I'm going to the Falcons' game!

Well, I won't be going to the grocery store this morning; b/c I couldn't take Mom to the store on Monday when I had planned, today was the 2nd choice. Besides taking Mom to the store, we'll also go to the doctor's office to get her monthly blood check. Keeping my fingers crossed on that.

Have a great day!

Good evening JM

Claudie a lot of Steeler fans, huh? Not naming names;-)

JM I think we're headed back up toward 60 early next week. Just gotta get through tonight.

A lot of "new" things going on this 2's day night. Talked to Emily earlier. The first game for the new season of Lady Bobcat basketball will be Friday December 5th. Being a 7th grader, this will be a new team with a new coach. The previous coaching staff retired at the end of last season.

As I've mentioned before, for the last 3 1/2 years, Emily has wore #24 in honor of her late Sister, Madeline's birthday. This year, the 24 jersey was missing. So along with all the other "news" comes a new number. I'll be following #11 this year. She sent me a picture of the uniforms and they look nice. This number seems fitting as well as Emily was born in the 11th month of the year. So, December 5th, I'll be cheering on #11.

Sn*w off and on tonight temp sitting at 19 with a wind chill of +6.

Good morning, JM,

26° here this morning, feeling like 17° with the wind blowing at about 10 mph.

Ugh! Too cold for here! :(

I was hoping with yesterday's rain (we got about ½-an-inch) and the added wind that more of the leaves would come down. Not too many did, though. Maybe more today since it's supposed to be a little windy.

Yeah, it's always good to see get shut up when their teams are doing well. I have a lot of Steeler fans as my FB friends, and they used to talk non-stop about how good the team was. Not now or last year. :)

BTW, the Falcons play Cleveland on Sunday (at the Dome at 1 PM) and then the next Sunday, they play Arizona (also at the Dome, but at 4 PM).

I won't be taking Mom to the store today; that'll have to wait until tomorrow b/c I am having a tooth pulled this morning. It shouldn't be a big deal for me, though. :)

Have a great day!

Ironic, this GB ride looks a lot like my real car. Hope this one handles the sn*w well. We got a dusting here, but it is super cold. Temps currently 19 with a wind chill of 4. Not a good night to be outside pumping gas like I just did. Stay warm out there buddies.

Good morning, JM,

Sure was lucky the way the Falcons game turned out. Whew!

Well, it looks like I'll be staying home this morning. There WAS a slight possibility that I'd be taking Mom to the doctor's office (for her monthly blood check) and then to the store, but it is raining like crazy right now! She'll just have to wait until Wednesday morning now.

The rain's supposed to stop about lunchtime and then the temp will start dropping down to the mid-20s (for tonight). Sure hope the roads dry off before then.

Also hoping the rain will bring some of the leaves down off the trees. They finally ARE changing colors, but they just don't want to come off the trees!

Have a great day!

Claudie - Good morning. Had a great sport weekend with wins by GT, UGA, and the Falcons. Must enjoy first place, while we can.

trevor - Good morning and hi de ho.

Dino - Good morning. Sorry to hear about your teams; however, congratulation to your team for making the playoff for the first time in 7 years. The rain that you had on yesterday is here in Tennessee. The morning high was in the low 50s and it will drop down to the 40s later today. Enjoy your day.

Good evening JM

Thank you so much for the compliment on my picture over at fb. She is definitely Daddy's Girl. 13 years running.

It is still rain here but probably not for too much longer. Currently 36 outside and this will be the warmest night for awhile. We did get a dusting of that white stuff this morning.

The two teams I follow in High School football had their seasons come to an end this weekend. Following along, it seemed that Tyler Consolidated forgot to come out of the locker in the second half. They lead 24-20 at halftime only to lose 44-24. We are not ashamed of them, though. This was their first playoff game in 7 years and it is definitely something to hold their heads high on. Parkersburg South was a different story. I think they got lost heading down I-77. They would lose to Capital 70-0. All I can say is "Ouch."

Coming up in a couple of weeks, I will start my annual musical countdown to Christmas. This year I will do it both here and over at facebook. The big difference will be I'll play #1 here on Tuesday night Dec. 23rd. I'm putting together the list of tunes now and will start playing them the night of November 30th.

Other than that not an overly busy weekend. Stayed at home and tried to stay warm and watch football along with my new guilty pleasure, Dr. Who. Watched my first complete episode Friday evening and I think this is something I may be interested in continuing to watch. Meanwhile, time to get the week started. Take care.

Good morning, JM,

Hubby and I went to Daughter's house about 10 yesterday morning; hubby worked on what he had to do, and then (of course) Daughter found 2 more 'small' things for him to do. <shakes head> I got to visit with Jake and Emma. I guess we were there about 45 minutes. :)

It's supposed to warm up here somewhat today (maybe get to the mid-50s?) and be an alright day. Then tonight, 'they' say, it's supposed to start raining.....and continue to rain all day tomorrow. Wouldn't ya know it? That's the day I was going to take Mom to the store (this week). Just my luck! :(

Go Falcons!
