Good evening JM

Thanks to everyone for the prayers this weekend. They are doing okay. I'll keep you posted.

Great Easter Sunday. One thought comes to mind. We talk about Christmas and say "Jesus is the reason for the season." But never make mention of this when Easter comes around. In my opinion, it holds true for Easter as well as Christmas.

Today makes consecutive day 56 for me at GB this go around. I am also under 40,000 away from the next GB car. I'm looking at having the new vehicle by the time we celebrate Memorial day. It'll be good for travelling around on all those muddy WV backroads.

We were blessed with great weather today. It's nice to see sunny skies and warm temps again. Finally, I will leave you with a dying piece of Americana. I'm sure most of you have heard of the Mail Pouch Tobacco Barns. I pass one every time I travel through the town of Friendly, WV. It used to be a notorious speed trap with it's one mile stretch of rt. 2 posted for a speed limit of 40 mph. Due to cutbacks, it no longer holds that distinction. It has been passed on to Fayetteville, WV in the southern part of the state. Here is a shot of that barn I got today. Enjoy.

Good morning, JM,

YES! <pumps fist> The rain has knocked that pollen count down to 325 (it pretty much rained all day yesterday); I checked the rain gauge and there's 1.4 inches in it!)! Still considered 'high,' but nothing like it even was!

Well, I thought I'd be staying home today, but that has changed. :) There is a pottery/ceramics place in our little town, and Daughter decided she wanted to take the kids there to pick a piece of pottery and then paint it (it's supposed to be another drizzly, dreary day here, so no playing outside). She wanted to know if Alhana (who's here for the weekend) wanted to go, too. Of course, she said yeah! So here are today's plans....Son, Alhana, and I will meet Daughter at the pottery place at 11 AM, and the kids will all do their thing. After that, we'll all go somewhere and have lunch (I'll call hubby to meet us there). It should be a good time. :)

Good Morning, JMBoykinII ♫ Wishing you and your family a blessed Friday! {{{{Hugs}}}} for you and yours. What a great day to reflect on what Jesus did for all of us on the cross.

Thank you for your kind words for my six Shows of "The Choice" Easter Musical, now including an altar call. Yes, I am happy they are doing it this year, giving the visitors a chance to profess their faith and receive Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior! I heard last year and this year that people getting saved is their ultimate goal of putting together the six free Shows.

Thankfully last night's Opening Show was a success, as I shared late last night with FB pictures. During the altar call, I did see some people raising their hands in profession of faith of receiving Jesus as their Lord and Savior. That brought a smile to my face! I hope and pray we will have more positive responses today through Sunday with the remaining five Shows.

Today on this Good Friday, I plan on mostly taking it easy at home with some tasks, and a few errands. For lunch my Parents, two ol*er Nephews, and I will enjoy the last of McDonald's Filet-O-Fish Friday specials, since today is the last Friday of lent season. Tonight I will be performing with the Orchestra for Show #2 of "The Choice" Easter Musical Drama at The Rock Church in Anaheim, CA. Based on last year's experiences, Good Friday is the most popular show, and tonight we will probably have another full house or standing room only again.

Good morning, JM,

Looks like the GB site shut down yesterday morning (again!) right after I made my morning post (about 7:30 AM), and it didn't come back up again until about 11. Sheesh! Therefore I decided it was going to be a no-round Wednesday for me.

Hubby had an appointment with the vascular surgeon yesterday morning and it went real well, time-wise and information-wise! Appointment was for 11 AM, and we got in about 10:50 and saw the doctor about 11:05. He had a CAT Scan done last week and it was good; get another one next year. If that one's also good, then they'll start doing ultrasounds instead. :)

The pollen count's looking really good around here, too; it went from 2500 yesterday to about 700 today. I believe the pine pollen is all finished b/c I haven't been seeing it all over everything. Yay! Open up the doors and windows! That is, IF it warms up enough later. It's about 40° right now, going up to about 60°. It just might be a little cool for open doors, but we'll see later.

I'm going to the grocery store this morning. Well, actually, I need to go to Mom's first and then to the store. No senior discount, but, oh, well! :)

Have a great day!

Good evening JM

Both girls really enjoy what they do musically. I've always said that Emily can do choir especially if the basketball thing doesn't work out.

First order of business, I want to send out a special request to all you.

I am asking for prayers for a close friend of mine that is in a world of hurt right now. Give them strength through a rough time in their lives and that they may have the courage and strength to move forward from this tough situation. I have said it once and I'll say it again and again. God has blessed me with the best supporting cast one could have. Thanks a bunch. I have kept this person anonymous out of respect to them. Thanks to you all.

Now, for this week's edition of Dino's Jukebox. Doing it a day early as I will not be working tomorrow night and won't be able to get to the computer.

This week's edition of Dino's Jukebox comes as a special request from our own TUrtLE and KHF. The song was written by John Fogerty in 1968 and was released as a single that peaked at #2 in March of 1969, a little over 45 years ago. The song has been taken from other parts of songs where one of which was about a "washerwoman named Mary." The line "Left a good job in the city" was written following Fogerty's discharge from the National Guard, and the line "rollin' on the river" was from a movie by Will Rogers. It has been covered numerous times by the likes of Solomon Burke, Kenny Rogers, David Bowie, and Buck Owens. It was notably famous by Ike and Tina Turner in 1971 and rereleased by Tina in 1993 for the movie soundtrack for "What's Love Got To Do With It." You can't beat the original and it is tonight's jukebox selection. Happy Easter weekend everyone.

The Tyler band plays exceptionally well. Kia play Alto Saxophone. She is in her 5th year of playing going back to middle school. Dylan will be taking band starting next year as he'll start middle school. Emily is singing in Choir. She is in her third year of it going back to her 4th grade year at Lubeck Elementary.

Back to work a bit later because of the concert. She looked great and sang wonderfully. Emily is a second generation choir student at Blennerhassett. The first generation? Yeah, you're talking to him. This was a county choral festival for the 6th graders with five of the six public middle schools performing. Williamstown, Parkersburg Catholic, and North Christian were three other MS's that weren't there. The show ran very smooth and organized and 11 songs were completed in about an hour.

Blowing sn*w has come through the area. It was 61 at this time last night. Currently, it's 31. This should be our last bout of sn*w this season. At least, we can hope.

Good morning, JM,

I didn't get to see the lunar eclipse last night/this morning. :( It started raining here about 1:30 PM and has continued off and on, even now. At least with all this rain, my grass looks greener and the pollen count is lower, though, not as low as I would have expected....from about 3500 yesterday to about 1100 today. Better, though.

I'm taking Mom to WM this morning, and that'll be it for me. The light rain is supposed to come to an end in a coupla hours, but then the wind is supposed to pick up....a lot! Hope that'll help blow all the clouds away. :)

Have a great day!

P.S. I'd much rather have this rain that we're getting (you, too?) than the snow some of our northern Buddies are getting.

Saturday was very enjoyable. Weather was perfect.

Got a great request from one of my buddies here for the jukebox tune. Already featuring the letter "P" this week. How time flies. With this week being the week before Easter, I get Thursday night off from work. So, you'll get this week's tune on Wednesday night. Gas prices have taken steroids or at least it seems here. I got in at one of my local stations for $3.62. Just as I finished filling up, a tanker truck pulls into the lot. Timed it just right.

I got some big news last Friday, the Tyler Consolidated Marching band performed in a competition on Friday afternoon. They got scores of all 1's (highest rating) in the competition. Something that has never been achieved from any of the school's bands dating back to 1993 when the school opened. This is the band that my Stepdaughter, Kia performs in.

More music in the air for us tomorrow night. We'll make the trek to Parkersburg for Emily's 6th grade choral festival. Sing loud, sing proud.

Good afternoon JM

The Tom Jones Show. I honestly will say I'm not familiar with that one. Will have to research it. Gotta love the internet.

A beautiful weekend is coming to a close here in the Ohio Valley. Temps are sitting at around 80 for the first time locally this year. The Dodge showed 78 yesterday at one point. Perfect for driving around with the sunroof open.

As promised, several new pictures from around my hometown area. Over 60 have been uploaded to the Flickr page. A few highlights include:

Brad Paisley Blvd. Glen Dale, WV. This is a street just a few blocks from my workplace named after the Country superstar who is originally from there.

Marathon Gas Station Newport, OH. What makes this station unique is that they do not charge the extra 9/10 cents per gallon. The only one I've seen of it's kind.

Parkersburg Easter Parade. Start here in the photo stream for over 30 shots from the annual Easter parade.

Hometown pictures Over 30 new shots from around and about the Parkersburg area start here.

Enjoy

Good morning, JM,

Spring Break in the Metro area was last week.

Fantastic day at the ALF for their Spring/Easter event! Bee-you-tee-ful weather...sunshiny, about 75° and a blue-blue sky!

There were 9 of us who went to be with Mom....me, hubby, and Daughter; my brother, his wife, and their grandson; my sister and her 2 grandsons. We enjoyed the lunch that was provided and had a fun time watching all the kids picking up those Easter eggs. Fun time!

Now I hope we have the same exact weather in 3 weeks when we have our Spring get-together at my house. <crosses fingers>

So today is to be a stay-at-home day for me. I didn't get a whole lot done yesterday (though some stuff) since we went up to Mom's. Hope to get things done today since I won't have another day at home until maybe Thursday.

Have a great day!

Good Evening, JMBoykinII ♬ I hope you and your family had a fabulous time in Atlanta. Enjoy the rest of your weekend in Church, and have a safe return back home to Chattanooga, TN after Church. Yes, I can't believe Holy week is here! It will be a busy week of music ministry for me, and I am looking forward to my time with The Rock Church, performing for "The Choice" Easter Musical Drama about the story of Jesus' triumphal entry, crucifixion, and resurrection.

Thank you for your encouraging words as I start my brand new sales career in Lucarzon. I hope and pray this new sales career will work out well for me and help me improve my financial situation, my life, and my family's life. Thank you for the congrats on my newest career move!

Today's updates and pictures are posted at my Studio. I plan on posting the Lucrazon pictures on FB later on, since it is very late tonight.

Good Night!

Good Morning, JMBoykinII ♪ Have a great time with family and with Alex's clothes shopping! I always enjoy shopping for new clothes. {{{{Hugs}}}} for you and yours.

Today I will be going to the Lucrazon Global's Celebration Launch event in Los Angeles. This is the new company that I prayerfully decided to join yesterday for my new sales career #2, and the same company that I mentioned previously that I was going to join earlier, but did not because I was not ready at that time. My new career #2 with Lucrazon will involve selling Merchant Services to traditional stores and online businesses. I heard from Jayvee, the person that I signed up with last night, and others who are already in the company, that Salespeople who sell even a few good accounts with Merchants, can make excellent commissions and potentially lifetime residual income, as long as the Merchants you sell the services to, remain with your Merchant Service! For top sellers, they can even make six figure annual income, plus residual income! Today's big Celebration Launch event will not only be a big grand opening celebration for the company, but they will also have training sessions for new Salespeople like me, as well as existing Salespeople. This will be an all day and night event, but I will leave after the training as I have things to do and Church to prepare for tomorrow. PTL for my new career #2!

Have an Amazing Saturday!

Good morning, JM,

It'll be a busy part-of-the-day today...the ALF is having their Spring/Easter event from 11-2 today; it includes lunch and an Easter egg hunt, among other things. Daughter will be coming over to our house about 10:45 and she, hubby and I will be going together; we'll meet my brother, his wife, their grandson, my sister, and her 2 grandsons there. It'll be a nice crowd for Mom. :) We'll stay awhile and then head on back home for the rest of the day. Thank goodness it's going to be a gorgeous day...sunshiny and about 75°. :) I just checked, and while the pollen count is STILL high (of course), it's only about half of what it was yesterday. :)

Have a great day!

Good Morning, JMBoykinII ♫ Thankfully my week has been going very well, and I hope yours did too! I am glad that you and Alex had a great time at last night's softball game, with you coaching them. That is good you feel well today in spite of less sleep. Have a great Friday at work, and Saturday with shopping for new clothes for Alex. I am sure she is growing up very fast, plus Easter Sunday is coming up too!

This morning I will be sending off my Aunt Letty to the Greyhound Bus Station for her trip and visit with Aunt Ruby in Las Vegas, NV. After that I look forward to a full day of doing tasks at home and errands as needed and desired. Tonight I have three Students to teach.

Happy Friday!

Good morning, JM,

Yeah, I know who named your team. :)

It's not a stay-at home day for me today (like it usually is); I have a doctor's appointment this morning to get the results from my blood work (done on Monday). Not looking forward to the results, though, since I am concerned about my glucose level. My mom says I'm just a big worrywart, but I am hoping for the best.

Have a great day!

Good evening JM

In light of recent events, I think this might be an ideal pick me up. 54 is way too young to go. I'm only 12+ years behind him.

Tonight's entry beginning with the letter "O" was written by George Jackson and was recorded by Michigan resident Bob Seger for his 1979 album "Stranger In Town." The song would have mild success peaking originally at #28 on Billboard's Hot 100. Here's an interesting quote from Seger about the song:

"All I kept from the original was: "Old time rock and roll, that kind of music just soothes the soul, I reminisce about the days of old with that old time rock and roll". I rewrote the verses and I never took credit. That was the dumbest thing I ever did. And Tom Jones (Thomas E. Jones) and George Jackson know it too. But I just wanted to finish the record [Stranger in Town]. I rewrote every verse you hear except for the choruses. I didn't ask for credit. My manager said: "You should ask for a third of the credit." And I said: "Nah. Nobody's gonna like it." I'm not credited on it so I couldn't control the copyright either. Meanwhile it got into a Hardee's commercial because I couldn't control it. Oh my God, it was awful!"

That same song would go on to become number two on the Amusement & Music Operators Association's survey of the Top 40 Jukebox Singles of All Time in 1996. The song would resurface in 1983 in the movie "Risky Buisness" starring a young Tom Cruise left home alone. This would bring about an iconic scene of Mr. Cruise lip syncing the song in his underwear. This was later repeated in an episode of the NBC hit TV show Alf and for various spots for the video game Rock Band. I think the song might've grown on Mr. Seger. He shares my sentiments with his lyrics on this one.
