Good morning, JM,

Nice picture of you and Alex at the game. Did you also put some on FB? I didn't see any.

It sure is cooling off here now, and I am loving it! It's 66° and the dew point is 62°. There's even a slight breeze. Wonderful!

No cheer-game for Emma today, so I'll just be staying home. :)

Have a great day!

Good Evening, JMBoykinII ♩ So glad you enjoyed your day off from work with attending the game in Atlanta with your family. Wishing you and yours a great weekend! {{{{Hugs}}}} for you and yours. I will catch up with your FB pictures later on this weekend, as this week has been busy at work.

Thank you for letting me know you are keeping up with the latest economic news. Yes, I hope and pray that what we read and hear regarding the economy improving will translate into more jobs and better income for people out there. Even serving my Piano Sheet Music Customers, I found out that I was not alone in losing Students when their Parents got laid off over the recession.

Thankfully my Friday went well with enjoying time before and during work with playing piano on my favorite Yamaha C7X, a slow day at work with only four Piano Sheet Music Customers, lots of down time to do other work tasks, and assisting my Manager John out during his busy times with prospective Piano Buyers at the store. All in all, a very nice day today.

Looking forward to this weekend!

Good Night and Sweet Dreams!

Good evening JM

Thanks on the cold. We haven't been below $3.00 locally in over 3 years. We've been close, but not close enough in my opinion.

This week's edition of Dino's Jukebox comes from a man who got his start with the band The Commodores before taking on a successful solo career in the 1980s. In his later years, he has been a strong advocate for breast cancer research after his Grandmother was diagnosed with it. She fought it and lived to see her 103rd birthday. To date, he has raised over $3 million for the Brest Cancer Research Foundation. Here he is singing about the shift I work.

Good evening JM

As I was saying over at Sue's place, Garth definitely puts on a great show and gives the fans their money's worth from what I've heard. Before he made it big, he performed at the Belpre Homecoming in Belpre, OH just across the river from my hometown of Parkersburg. It was one of those "Who knew" situations.

There has been a cold going around locally. The kids have had it and my body has ached the last few days as well. I hope I'm not next. It may be the change in the weather. At least it sounds like a good reason.

Gas is dropping slowly but surely here again. New Martinsville takes it's time sitting currently at $3.59, while 30 miles up the road in Moundsville it's $3.46. Still overpriced in my book. Then again, so wouldn't be $2.46.

Dino's Jukebox regular edition tomorrow night. If you remember the '70s group The Commodores, you'll have no trouble figuring out tomorrow's "L" artist. See you then.

Thank you so much for concisely stating your encouraging words about the major adjustments that I have made in my life to accommodate my brand new career as Assistant Manager of Keyboard Concepts!

I am sure you can relate to my struggles with adjusting, as you have worked both traditional employment as well as self-employment. Thankfully self-employment is not completely out of my life, and I will continue to freelance Teach and Perform as the Lord gives me work opportunities.

Having been self-employed almost all of my working life, this was a major adjustment to me, and it was not easy. I still miss and long for the days when the economy was much better and I was living and enjoying my three dream careers of freelance self-employed Music Teaching, Performing, and Realtor. But sadly these three industries were severely hit by the recession. So no matter how hard I tried, I can only do so much to make these biz work out. Thanks for the offer to chat by phone whenever I need to. For now my long days and short nights of sleep keep me away from chatting on the phone with most others besides family, Customers, and Co-Workers.

Thanks for so much your encouraging words as I deal with the challenges of trying to remember elements from my training lessons during my new work routines. Yes, you are correct that I will eventually catch on to my new work routines well.

Thankfully my Tuesday was much better. It was busy today also, but at least the Customers and phone calls were much better spread out throughout the day, instead of Monday's scenario with a busy cluster of Customers coming in and calling us all at the same time! I wish every busy work day would be like today. But such is the life of retail careers.

I'm hoping for a winning season from the falcons, too, even if it IS just 9!

Cooler temps and lower dew points finally headed our way; certainly looking forward to that!

I forgot all about it, but the pollen count is again an issue, though, the numbers are nowhere near as high as they are in the Springtime. The count today is about 350 and the major contributor is ragweed. Yuck!

Good evening JM

I'm hoping the reason the Bengals won is because the Falcons were having an off day. I'd hate to think Cincinnati has a good team.

Tonight's edition of Dino's Jukebox was preempted from last Thursday. Thought we'd spin it tonight to keep the alphabet on schedule.

The first of the artists in this week's jukebox entry became a huge success as a Country artist. Born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, he claims Rock was his first love, but felt he'd be more successful being a Country singer. As of June 2014, He has sold nearly 70 million albums in the US making him the most successful selling artist in any genre in the US since Nielsen Soundscan started tracking music sales in 1991. He sings lead covering a classic tune from the K entry of Dino's Jukebox.

The K artists have had a bit of success as well. They formed in 1973 in New York and have been known for their extravagant stage shows, their lavish costumes, and their unique face makeup. In 1983, still young music channel MTV got to do something that no one else had done with the band. Show them without makeup. They would go on to perform for a good few years without their makeup including in tonight's performance which comes from MTV's Unplugged performance in 1995. Here are the superstars collaborating for this tune.

Good evening JM

The Beatles had broke up by the time I was born. I was only 5 when Elvis Presley died. Mom has always been a huge fan of his.

It's Sunday evening and I think it's safe to say Fall is making it's way in here locally. Some of the trees are starting to show yellow leaves and the temps will drop into the upper 40s tonight.

It was a great Saturday locally. Took in the Oil & Gas Festival Band o Rama held at Tyler Consolidated High School. What this entails is several area high school marching bands competing based on there performance and appearance. Tyler does not compete in this because they are the host school. The competition starts off with the parade held in nearby Sistersville, WV. All of the bands are judged on their appearance and performance at the parade, and then to Tyler Consolidated's football field to perform their halftime show as it would be performed during a football game halftime. We seen 13 great bands perform including Hundred High School from SteelPenny's part of the Mountain State as well as Mrs. K and I's alma mater, Parkersburg South. Also included in the lineup was schools from neighboring towns and counties as well as George Washington High School from the Charleston area about 2 1/2 hours away. Not sure who won in the various categories as we took off right after Tyler performed because after the sun went down, so did the temperature. As a matter of fact, tonight is the first night I've not worn shorts to work since May.

All in all a good weekend for the sports as well. Victories from the high schoolers of Tyler Consolidated and Parkersburg South, college victories from WVU and Marshall, and most importantly, a basketball victory for Emily's team this weekend as well. She reported to me in a text that she had 2 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 steals. She's getting good at this and just three short months away from the new Middle School season.

The preempted Dino's Jukebox will spin tomorrow night. Two big names for the "K" entry that excelled in their respective genres. See you then.

Claudie - Good afternoon. I do remember exactly where I was and what I was doing when the planes crashed into the twin towers. I slept in today, I slept two hours longer and did not get up until 5 this morning.

Dino - I remember the day that Princess Diana died, we were in Ft. Lauderdale Florida and I remember when the Beatles first toured America and when they first visited Atlanta. My sister went to the concert in Atlanta at Fulton County Stadium. Boy I am old. Have a great day.

MusicTeacher - Good afternoon. Thank you for sharing how your vacation works, after you get past the first year, you will be able to enjoy a few days off with pay. Once you build a nest egg, you will be able to focus back on your business. I hope that your last day of work for the week, went well. {{{hugs}}}

Good Evening, JMBoykinII ♪ I hope your week at work is going well! {{{{Hugs}}}} for you and yours. Thankfully my work week is going very well! PTL! Thanks for the like on my FB post about enjoying a Starbucks drink after training at work yesterday. I am glad you also enjoy the same types of drinks! I rarely drink Starbucks, so getting a drink over there is always a real treat for me!

Regarding vacations, I am not entitled to them until I complete one full year of work with them. After that, I am allowed 5 paid vacation days per year. That is barely enough to cover my days of two Church Camps, excluding weekends. For regular Church Camp, I need Thursday and Friday off, and for Youth Camp, I need Friday off at the minimum.

Honestly if this economy will someday improve, I definitely want to return back into FT Teaching and Performing careers, as I will make much more income and have a better quality of life and more free time than I do with my present new career as Assistant Manager, if I had at least 25 Students.

Today at work was slow with Customers, as we only had five come in to buy Sheet Music from me. There were some Piano Customer inquiries, but my Manager John did not sell any pianos today. I spent my entire day fixing the inventory on the computer.

Good Night! Remembering Patriot Day, 9-11-01.

Good evening JM

A couple of other days that stood out to me, when Space Shuttle Challenger blew up in 1986, when Presidents Regan and Gorbechev signed the peace treaty to dismantle nuclear weapons, when the Berlin Wall came down, and when we first struck the middle east in 1992. I'm sure there are others.

Thanks for the shared sentiments on the anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.

I decided with today being the anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, I'd skip Dino's Jukebox this week. I do have a tune lined up for this week's entry, I figured we'll pick it up next week.

I do have a tune for today. A video on one of my favorite Patriotic songs. Lee Greenwood's "God Bless The USA" comes to mind. Alan Jackson's "Where Were You When The World Stopped Turning" comes to mind as well. I thought I'd go a bit further back to the early '80s. One of my favorites from this guy and a cool home made video to go with it. Have a great weekend buddies.

Good Evening, JMBoykinII ♪ I hope your work week is going well! Enjoy the rest of your week! {{{{Hugs}}}} for you and yours.

Thanks for your comments about our super busy Tuesday! Yes, busyness means we can make some money, keep our doors open, and keep our jobs.

However today was the opposite, as it was a down day with only one Sheet Music Customer and a few prospective Piano Customer walk-ins with my Manager John. My main activity of the day was to go through training from two Ladies of the headquarters Keyboard Concepts Piano Store in Sherman Oaks, who visited my office between around 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM. It was a joy to meet both of them.

Thank you for your comments about my teaching career. Unfortunately I have to give up most of my teaching with my new FT job. But at least I do have the stability of a steady paycheck and partially paid benefits in 3 months’ time. I could still fit in one Student per weekday night from 8:00 PM - 8:30 PM, as I have been doing that schedule even before my new job, with my one and only Violin Student who has faithfully stuck with me when the remainder of my Students quit lessons on me mainly due to the recession. In fact I will be teaching him again tomorrow night between 8:00 PM - 8:30 PM. I already informed my Manager John about tomorrow night, so he is okay with me closing shop earlier than usual and leaving about 10-15 minutes earlier, to allow myself time to return home and settle down before teach my Violin Student in the evening.

I posted a happy day picture of me with my Starbucks drink at my work desk, on FB, thanking God for my new career as Assistant Manager.

Have a Wonderful Night!

Good evening JM

Thank you

As we know, Thursday marks the 13th anniversary of the 9/11 US Terror Attacks. I remember Dan Rather saying "You will remember this day as long as you shall live. You'll tell your kids, your grandkids, all your family members."

I think about how a lot of you on here were alive when JFK was assassinated. You can likely recall what you were doing on that day when it happened. September 11, 2001 holds that same significance with me.

It was a sunny and mild day typical for early September. I had started making plans with a couple of friends for the weekend and life was going on as usual. FMD was 7 months pregnant with Emily and we were looking ahead to our weekly childbirth class at the local hospital. I was on break at work sitting out in my car listening to the radio as I usually did.

Then, the world stopped.

The regular radio program was interrupted by news that the World Trade Center had been hit in New York. They then interrupted the report to say the Pentagon had been hit. My thoughts were "Oh no, what's next?"

We watched a little bit of the news at work in the break room. The President had by this time grounded all fights and it felt like an eerie calm outside the warehouse. We had no idea what was about to happen. FMD got to leave work early and later that evening rumors started going around that gas was about to shoot to $3/gallon that night. We sat in line with every other Vienna resident and filled up both cars for the bargain price of $1.54/gallon.

It was indeed a scary time in our lives. It's weird thinking about how Emily will hear all about it constantly since she was born just two months later. Her and her Cousin were born into two different worlds. Her cousin was born 9/5/01.

Getting the opportunity to visit New York city in the Spring of 2013 and seeing the new World Trade Center being built brings a bit of pride to one. Knowing that as Charlie Daniels once said, "This Lady may have stumbled, but she ain't never fell." And that new building is a testament to that.

Often we badmouth and complain about this country and what goes on here, but if it wasn't for people defending us for generations, we wouldn't have that right. Seeing us rise above those attacks, can't help but make one swell with pride for this country.

And I couldn't think of another place I'd rather live.

munchkins mom - If you ever get an opportunity to visit Birmingham or Selma, you can see real footage of some of the graphic encounters in the 1960s. There are worst images than what is seen in the movie. But, I am glad that the days are gone. Have a blessed day.

Good Evening, JMBoykinII ♪ I hope your day today at work went well! {{{{Hugs}}}} for you and yours.

Thanks for asking! Yes, I can and will still teach, but will be very limited in scheduling. If I don't do errands after work and traffic is smooth, I can usually arrive home around 7:30 PM and fit in only one 8:00 PM Student on each weekday night. I prefer not to teach on weekends though, since my weekends tend to fill up quickly with activities, errands, or much needed rest time.

You're welcome for the exchange of nice comments and likes on FB pictures! FB makes it so much easier to keep in touch with one another.

Today was a busy day at work with 8 Sheet Music Customers for me, lots of curious Piano Customers for my Manager Joe, and lots of phone calls during the busy times. Ironically we were either too busy, or very quiet. Today went with extremes in work.

Harvest Moon Blessings!
