Good morning, JM,

Still some strange weather we're having here, but I'll take it. Warm temps (starting yesterday; got up to almost 70°!) continuing through Thursday, and then it gets cooler again. I was able to put my plants out on the back porch yesterday, and I actually left them out there overnight; probably won't even bring them back in until Thursday afternoon when the low gets back down into the low 30s. No sunshine, though; cloudy, cloudy, and good chances for rain.

I have an unexpected stay-at-home day today. :) I did Mom's shopping yesterday b/c it's supposed to rain off-and-on today and I didn't want to take the chance of taking her out in that kind of weather (she still has that 'shoe' on her left foot)...unless I HAVE to. It'll be nice to get some 'stuff' done early this week. :)

Have a great day!

trevor - Good morning and hi de ho.

Claudie - Good morning. Nothing too much here, just another day on the job. Yes, the weather is weird. Have a wonderful day.

munchkins mom - Good morning. The high yesteray made it to the low 50s and today, the mid 50s. Tomorrow, the high is to reach 70° before turning cold on Thursday. I hope that the munchkins are enjoying the extra hoursof rest in the morning.

Dino - Yes, she will be able to share the jellybean story to her children and they will all smile. I am happy to hear that she is alright. Congratulation to Dylan for a great performance. I hope that you are doing well, have a great day.

HouHrl - Good morning.

Good evening JM

They got the jellybean back out and she was back home by 10:30 last night. She had quite a story to tell her classmates at school today.

I've been spending the last few months bragging about Emily's basketball season. Tonight, I'm shifting gears to brag about the other basketball player in the family, Dylan. They played this evening and fell short, but he had an excellent game. 6 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 steals in the loss. He definitely put up his share of the work. After the game, I rewarded him with a Slim Jim at the gas station when I stopped to fill up. I told him he earned it. And he did.

It's nice to see the sunshine of a day, but the downside, this means the snow is melting and producing sheets of ice. I threw some ice melt on our walkway before Dylan and I left for the game. As it settled in I could here it cracking the ice. Gotta love science.

Temps are trying to mellow out. Looks like one more subzero night coming on Thursday then hopefully we can move forward with the temps. Certainly will spring forward with the clocks this weekend. One of the bank signs in Moundsville has already done it. Had to do a double take when I passed it and it said it was 11:05. TTFN

Hi JM, the munchkins had a two hour delay today and will possibly see the same tomorrow with the ice and snow predicted. I think this should be over soon though.

Good morning, JM,

Weird weather here this week, too; lots of rain predicted' Thank goodness the temps will be up.

Yes, a race car was stolen, but they found it and the pickup truck pulling the trailer. Haven't heard if they found the trailer, but I'm guessing not.

I'll be going out this morning; I have a 9:15 appointment at the nail salon, and then I'll go to the store for Mom. I already told her yesterday that with the rain predicted for tomorrow (and through Thursday, actually), I wasn't going to take her to the store (she still has that 'shoe' on her foot). She wasn't too thrilled, but okay with it. Oh, well.

Have a great day!

Dino - The weather here has not made it back to normal, we had highs around 50° the past two days. It is suppose to make it to near 60° over the next two days before we have one more cold day on Thursday. I wish you niece well with her jellybean incident. Enjoy the start to your week.

HouHrl - Good morning.

Good evening JM

I like your approach on the snow down south. It's still hanging around up here. Along with the ice and slush. Ugh!

Sunday night so it must be my Monday. Just talked to Mom and got some interesting news from them. I guess my Niece tried to stick a mini jellybean up her nose. Problem was she didn't get back out. So, off the ER they went to get it taken back out. Which they did. She's just following in her Mom's footsteps. When she was little, about 5 y/o, she put a bead in her ear and couldn't get it out so off to the ER we went to get it removed.

Temps are holding above freezing here with one sign showing 40. I was concerned with the roads with the temperature being close to the freezing mark. I took an extra precaution and left about a half an hour early for work. The upside is I made it in around 10 my time so that translates into at least 30 minutes of OT this week. Temps are going to be up and down this week precip is going to be a bit of everything. Another crazy week. Welcome to March. Hang on...

munchkins mom - Good afternoon. I hope that the munchkins have learned about the many men and women of color that have contributed to this world. I am a big fan of Thurgood Marshall. Enjoy the rest of your day.

Claudie - The rain just begun to fall here, this will be an odd weather week. By the way, I saw where one of the race cars were stolen and later found.

trevor - Good afternoon and hi de ho.

Good morning, JM,

Well, it's not raining or anything; just really cloudy and gloomy, so I guess I can say that March is coming in like a lamb?? Maybe I need to wait 'til I see how the rest of the day is, though.

I am staying home again today, though, this day won't be as nice (outside) as it was yesterday. Rain is supposedly moving in; hope it waits until later this afternoon, so they can get the big race in. I know there are thousands of people going that hope the same thing.

Have a great day!

Hi JM, it's been an interesting Black History month at our house. The munchkins had different projects due at school in celebration. The other night Connor and I watched a PBS special on Thurgood Marshall. Connor said he was a remarkable man. And that he was indeed.

Claudie - Good morning. It is still pretty cold, today's high will make it to the high 40s. Heading to Cherokee, Alabama to a funeral of a friend's brother. I do understand with the race, why you wish to stay in.

trevor - Good morning and hi de ho.

munchkins mom - Good morning. I will see if I can pull up that article on the Underground Railroad. Today ends Black History month. We should dedicate a month to focus all the heritage of each group that makes up this country.

Good morning, JM,

The Hawks won last night. :) They play again tonight at 7:30.

Since it's race weekend in this area and since there's an outlet mall in my town, I believe I will just stay home. No need to have to deal with all those extra people. :)

Good morning, JM,

I figured the schools there would be closed again today. Hope it warms up enough this weekend so lots of that snow melts.

Thank goodness, it's going to be another drying-out day for us before it starts to rain again Sunday evening (no threat of snow/ice here as the temps will be above freezing during that time). Hope the rain holds off b/c this is race weekend in this neck of the woods. While the race track is named Atlanta Motor Speedway, it is located about 15 miles (if that) west of where I live (in a town named Hampton). Not close enough (thank goodness) to hear the roar of the cars, but sometimes we DO see the planes 'practicing' for their flyovers, if they have them, that is. Nice. That's the part I like the best, while hubby loves the races.

As for what I'm doing today....not really sure yet. :)

Have a great day!

munchkins mom - Good morning. The snow here was great, the children in the community got a chance to build snowfigures. The snow did not last too long, by midday, it had mostly melted away. This was one of our better snows, I took a few pictures. Have a great day.

Claudie - Good morning. We got plenty of snow, the most snow that I have seen in a long time. We had about 6 inches and it was great. Schools will be close again today because of the schools up on the mountain, temperatures were to drop below 30° and they were concerned about ice. Well, the bad weather is gone and it is time to move into Spring.

trevor - Good morning and hi de ho.

Dino - Hiya. Normally, we do not shovel snow in the South, we play in it while it last. The snow in the South normally melt as soon as day break, so we just enjoy it while we can. Most of the snow has already melted and the only thing we have left are pictures. I hope that the weather will now move more into Spring like weather. I hope that your week has gone well, enjoy your weekend.

Good evening JM

Thank you. Pouring the sn*w down here on the way to work tonight. I hope we're almost done. I'd much rather mow grass than shovel sn*w.

I decided to change the record on Dino's Jukebox tonight. Thought of a better one than my original idea.

This week's "Wild Card Week" edition of Dino's Jukebox wraps up a month of "Love" songs for the month of February. A new theme and new month kicks off next week.

Wild card week means I pick the decade and it can be any decade this week. I've gone bold and went with the 2000s this week. Our artist first came on the music scene in the early '00s and has been a success on both the Country and Pop charts. Her 2014 release, titled "1989" is named after the year she was born. Tonight's selection peaked at #4 in the US and Canada and #1 in Australia. And she's is one of Emily's favorite artists as well. Where for art thou, Romeo?

Good morning, JM,

Yesterday's doctor appointment for Mom went well (go back in 6 months). We got in and out in pretty good time, and since I wasn't really sure what the weather would be like overnight or today, I decided to go and get my grocery shopping done. That was at about 11:15. The store wasn't TOO busy, but busier than it normally is on a Wednesday. Light rain started about noon, but I had the groceries in the car by then and was on my way home.

It's reported that several counties in north GA got between 6" and 9" of snow! Whooeee! That was on top of what they got in the last storm! :( WHO says it doesn't snow in the South? BTW, we just got rain; I checked the rain gauge and there's an inch in it.

Atlanta? Haven't heard for sure, but from what I was hearing yesterday, they might have got a dusting, if that.

Weather-wise (today), we are in the clear where I live. Well, not sure if there's any ice on the roads, but the temp IS 34° so maybe not. It's supposed to be in the high 40s today, so that'll be good. Already, looking out the window next to me, I can see some blue sky, so that's good, too! :)

Well, since I was able to get my grocery shopping done yesterday, I don't have any errands for today. :)

Have a great day!

I hope that the weather is beginning to improve in your area, we are experiencing one of our biggist snowfalls, we have approximately 6 inches. Well, enjoy your day.

Good evening JM

Both my Paternal Grandfather and my Dad served. Glad to see they both made it home after they did their time.

Another night a little better than recent evenings. Temps sitting in the upper 20s. Listened to the Charlotte Hornets defeat the Chicago Bulls on the way into work this evening. The Hornets are one of the professional teams I follow.

Wanted to pass along the link to Emily's Lady Bobcat album one more time this season as Robin has pulled through again. This will be the last of the pictures for the season. I've gotten a nice collection courtesy of Robin's fantastic camera skills.

Emily Lady Bobcats 2015
The first shot features her attempting a three pointer.

Another link to pass along to you. If you wanted to catch up on Dino's Jukebox or just hear one of your favorites again. I've set up a new topic for the 2015 edition of the Jukebox. You can find that here:

Dino's Jukebox 2015 Edition

Dino's Jukebox does play tomorrow night. Sticking with the 1980s for Wild Card week. Another "Love" song that doesn't smell so sweet and one of the most bizarre videos I've ever seen. See you tomorrow night

Good morning, JM,

Oh, my! A very tricky weather situation here in Georgia! There is a 'Winter Weather Warning' for about the top half of the state, meaning there could be snow (a coupla inches) as far south as where I live (about 30 miles straight south of Atlanta). It's a great big watch-and-see what we'll get on the south side...could be just rain or snow (depending on where that danged weather system moves). I guess we'll just wait and see. :(

No matter WHAT the weather prediction, I still have to take Mom out for a doctor's appointment this morning; it's at 10 o'clock and with her 'regular' doctor (6 month check-up). Depending on the time we get out, I might go to the grocery store afterwards; I just don't know at this point. This predicted weather is just soooo iffy! If I don't go today, I'll either go Thursday or Friday, depending on the weather. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Oh, yeah, hubby and I are going to the Senior Center for breakfast first. :)

Have a great day!

Good morning, JM,

Okay! It's about 35° right now and raining (snow/sleet in Atlanta and northward). Not sure how the roads are...just wet from rain or slick/icy. Hubby decided he would take me this morning, which is alright with me. We'll leave in a little while, go to WM to get Mom's stuff (she just HAS to have it!), and then go get her (taking her stuff to her, too). She has a 10:30 lab appointment at the cardiologist's office (checking protimes), which is pretty much across the street from where she lives. Hopefully there won't be any big problems/delays this morning. <crosses fingers>

I think there are several counties in the north GA mountains where the schools are closed. Many counties right around the city just have an opening delay.

Have a great day!

Claudie - Good morning. Schools were closed here all of last week for cold weather and it looks like they will close again today and tomorrow for snow, we will see.

trevor - Good morning and hi de ho.

munchkins mom - Good morning. Well, looks like the bad weather made it to us, I woke up to snow. This has been two tough week, last week we had frigid weather and this week we are having snow. Highs for this week will only be in the 40s and lows in the 20s, way below our average for this time of the year.

Dino - Thanks for sharing the information about the raising of the flag, both my mom and dad were in the military. Now, I have a son in the Army. Have a great day.

Good evening JM

Yep, ready to take on another week.

Happy Monday one and all. I heard on the radio today about this being the 70th anniversary of the American flag being raised at Iwo Jima. They interviewed one of the local residents who took part in the fighting who is now 89 years o*d.

They do occasionally have war Veterans on the radio show and it's always fascinating to hear their stories and realize how good we truly have it here.

This is one of, hopefully, the last brutally cold nights of the season. Currently +4 outside with a matching wind chill. Night time temps will stay around zero all week. Tyler county sits on a three hour delay tomorrow. This could be their first day back since February 13th. Stay warm.

Good morning, JM,

It pretty much rained off-and-on all day yesterday. When I checked yesterday morning, there was about 4-tenths-of-an-inch in the rain gauge. I forgot to empty it then and when I checked this morning. there's an additional 1¼ inches in it, making the total about 1.6 inches. Nice! Now it can stop raining!

A not-so-busy morning for me, but a busy afternoon instead. Apparently, even though they had last week off from school, there is a teacher workday today for Daughter. That means no school for Jake and Emma. They are going over to their other grandparents' house this morning and coming to our house this afternoon. Daughter said that the kids specifically asked if they could come to our house; I don't mind, but I didn't want the early time. Anyway, we'll leave here about 11 and go get the kids; then we'll go somewhere for lunch. I'm thinking Captain D's b/c that has become a favorite place of hubby's. After lunch, we'll come back home, where hubby and the kids will get started on a 'project'.....making a marker for their kitty's grave. Hopefully the rain will be over with so they can go put it in the ground, too. Once that's done, they'll come back into the house to hang out until Daughter gets here, probably around 4. After that....rest time for me! :)

Have a great day!

Good evening JM

She'll play in a Summer league starting in June. Will definitely keep you all posted on it's progress as well. If I think of it, I'll even set you up with the link on it.

Back to work and a bit early tonight. Production ran over the weekend and it leaves us a bit more to unload and put away. What they didn't tell us is that they had a couple other people in over the weekend that caught us up. Long story short, we don't have as much waiting that we thought we would. That's why I'm able to make my rounds tonight.

The storm that passed through this weekend gave us about 4 new inches of that nasty white stuff. I'm just glad it warmed up into the 30s. 33 feels so much better compared to 9 on Friday night. We did change over to rain for awhile Saturday afternoon. Mrs. K caught up laundry and Emily and I basically caught up. It was really nice to have her up on a weekend again.

Temps holding in the low 30s this evening. Forecast calls for it to get chilly again and I'm seeing those minus signs on the forecast lows this week. Here's to hoping March can't get here soon enough. L8R

Claudie - Good afternoon. We spent most of Saturday in Atlanta, we attended the funeral of our retired pastor at Ebenezer, the weather there was much better than it was in Chattanooga.

trevor - Good afternoon and hi de ho.

munchkins mom - Most of the bad weather stayed north of us until Friday evening, we had our first snow to stick for the season; however, the temperature kept rising so we only got a little less than an inch. Over night, the roads did freeze and I saw on the news about the many accidents. I am happy that it is over though I would like to have seen enough snow to make a snowman.

Hi JM, we heard that Tennessee has gotten much snow and freezing weather. Be careful and bundle up.

Good morning, JM,

Alright!

It's about 45° here and raining. I already checked the rain gauge and there's about 4-tenths-of-an-inch in it. :) It's supposed to be raining off-and-on all day today, so it looks like a good day to stay inside. I sure don't mind at all, esp. after our cold temps from earlier this week. :)

BTW, the Hawks play today at 3:30 PM ET.

Have a great day!

Good morning, JM,

So did you get much snow?

Boy, did the Hawks ever get whupped last night by the Raptors! Must have had too much time off. :( Hope they do better Sunday when they play in Milwaukee.

Well, it looks like our cold spell has moved on to somewhere else for now. Last night's low was about 30°, which was just a little lower than yesterday's high! The predicted high for today is in the upper 50s, so that is surely welcome!

Have a great day!

trevor - Good morning and hi de ho.

Claudie - Good morning. We finally got some snow, many accidents and the roads are icy. Temperatures are recovering, it is 32° already this morning.

HouHrl - Good morning.

Good morning, JM,

Thankfully, I think last night was the last of the really, really cold for us; now on to more 'normal' temps. We're supposed to get waaaaaay up to 44° today, as opposed to yesterday when it didn't even get to 30°.

Aaahhh, an unexpected stay-at-home day for me today. :) I thought I was going to have to go out and do a few errands this morning, but I was able to get them taken care of Wednesday and Thursday instead. Yay, Me! :)

Have a great day!
