Happy Thanksgiving, Brillo8 and buddies

I am so thankful to all my family and friends, including my gas buddy friends! Thanks for being there for me.

I am doing a bit of cooking and then off to my son's house for the feast! When I return tonight, I'll be planning my trip to Detroit and beyond. Duane and I have a trip planned to Orlando and then a weekend cruise to The Bahamas! I've never been on a cruise so this will be yet another NEW experience I'll have with Duane.

Don't eat too much and be SAFE out on the roads, buddies!!

Hi Brillo8 and buddies

Bril...I talked to my NC cousin last night and she said no snow for them, either. Maybe in the higher elevations.

We had winds and rain yesterday which turned into blowing snow. I made a last minute decision to dash to the cottage in the driving snow. Not quite a white out, but roads were getting bad. I travel almost exclusively by freeway.

Today more blowing but less snow. I had to tidy up the cottage in preparation for my trip next week. Got to find the warm part of the country!!! Orlando and then a short cruise w/ Duane to the Bahamas.

Have a spectacular day, buddies

Hi Beach

Glad to hear your dinner date went well (except for Duane's spill...ouch!)

Been really warm and unsettled here since the weekend. Sunday night we had bands of heavy rain, with high wind. Worse than some hurricanes, believe it or not. (Thankfully, many hurricanes don't measure up to all the hipe preceding their arrival).

After a night where the temps hovered around 70°!, we have more strong rain showers along the coast this morning. Mid 60s today, right where we should be this time of year. (So no snow in the South yet!...lol)

Have a great day Beach!

Hi Brillo8 and buddies

Snow's gone! Temps are going to dive later today! OUCH!!!

If you haven't seen the movie, Hundred Foot Journey, it was really good! Both of us thoroughly enjoyed it. Went to a very nice Chinese buffet after and the sushi was outstanding! Expensive, but worth it...Ming Ten.

Hi Brillo8 and buddies

Here it is...Sunday! I get a movie date w/ my favorite guy. Luckily, Lar did his usual...pooped out! His girlfriend has heart trouble and wants to make her 1.5 hr drive a bit early today.

So, now all that snow is more than half gone. What a week we've had surrounding this crazy weather!

Hi Brillo8 and buddies

Bril...Had a nice dinner and thoroughly enjoyed local production of Carmina Burana. Duane was so nice! However, the poor guy totally wiped out trying to step into the car when we were leaving....slippery dress shoes on ice! But we had a very good time and has agreed to go to a movie on Sunday w/ Lar and his gal. Things are looking so much more encouraging...I was not nervous AT ALL, simply had fun!

Now to work!

Hi Brillo8 and buddies

Well, the snowblower is ok, but it got a REAL workout! I found it easier to plug the cord in to get it started and fuss w/ the choke. Also, had to go lightly on the bite I was taking. This thing is NOT a work-horse!

Off to work in a bit...I will hand shovel some of the drive.

Have a terrific day, buddies

Hi Brillo8 and buddies

Bril...My snowblower quit half way through, on wet, deep snow! I had to finish by hand and will wait for the engine to cool.

YES! I am anxious for Friday! My hopes are high!

We had so much snow, several trips were called off and I decided to go home w/ 2hr pay just for driving to work. Now for the rest of the driveway. Also, got to apply for a HELOC to get cash for future desired "fixes." Will take 30 days!!

Have a splendid day, buddies

Hi Beach

Happy Tuesday!

Things have been hopping around here since returning from Virginia. You're ready for snow!...and we were in the mid 70s Monday!...lol. But temps this morning are below normal. May not even hit 50!

But warmer again by the weekend!

Have a terrific Tuesday Beach! Bet ya can't wait 'til Friday!!

Hi Brillo8 and buddies

Went to work yesterday only to find out I had put down for a day off! No fortune...lol. I have been in such an inner turmoil, I forgot I had marked it down...I was supposed to be w/ Duane and family for a weekend of hunting. Instead, I came out to the cottage a bit early and found about 2 inches of snow all over.

Got on craigslist to look for a snowblower. I found one I will look at this am.

Now to get some breakfast.

Hi Brillo8 and buddies

I really liked what I saw!! If I get some positive answers to some questions, I will submit an offer!

This is in the woods, has a wood-fired heating system, a very large, burmed workshop, 3 bedrooms, a nice, open floor plan, and a very lovely finished basement. It's a log house built in the mid-80s.

Off to work to make my "fortune" ... LOL!

Hi Brillo8 and buddies

Going to see a house this am. Pretty excited because it's a log home that looks great. It's out in the woods and not all that too far from all the things I need in life...lol Now, if I can make an offer that will be workable for me. (Really jumping the gun, here, I know.)

Hi Brillo8 and buddies

Bril...It isn't too smooth here for all kinds of reasons. But I'm getting through.

Sure turned COLD! Had light snow on the lawn this am, too. Sun came out off and on...that helped.

Tomorrow Lar will pick me up meet w/ my real estate agent to see a new house. Lar has a nice way of supporting me lately! Then, he will head to his girlfriend's house and I will ride back w/ the r.e. agent.

The market was GOOD to me today!!! Made an obscene amount of $$! Now to pay off some debt.

Hi Brillo8 and buddies

Bril...more on the Duane front: he texted mid-morning that he was out tracking a deer he'd shot (arrow). After learning more, I ended up finding him about 10 miles from the cottage so I could help him search for it. We spent an hour and then the rain came pouring down. So, we headed for the cottage and ate some lunch and got warm. The rain let up enough to get the doors on the shed. Would you believe he was the one standing by watching me do some finishing touches on the assembly instead of him trying to take over the drill? Usually, I'm the one who has to watch and wait. Anyway, the doors are up...not completely finished....ran out of screws. I went to HD for more and worked by myself to get some hardware on as the temps were swiftly dropping.

Now, to pack up and off to work!

Have a happy day, buddies

Hi Brillo8 and buddies

Bril...THANKS! I'm going to see this through...he's SO worth it! We had a classic movie and dinner date on Sunday and it was so nice to be treated like a woman...opening doors, etc. We had some nice conversation for which both of us learned more about past experiences in our relationships. I came to a very important conclusion last night: I am willing to accept this as a GRAND ADVENTURE! One that started last spring and has never really ended!

Today, our last decent day, Duane will come over and help me get the doors on the shed at the cottage. We should have gotten that done yesterday because it was mild and no precipitation. We may be fighting some drizzle and slowly dropping temps.

Hi Beach

Gee, sorry to hear. Well, I know you'll work through this situation. You're a strong woman.

I have been sooo busy around here (details would be a bore...lol). So much so that Linda and I have decided that we will head to Virginia Beach either Monday or Tuesday. Short trip. Plan to return home on Thursday.

Hope you have a great week Beach!

Hi Brillo8 and buddies

Bril...Yes, Duane is heading in the other direction. He is still VERY fond of me and we actually spent the better part of Wed working on the shed...well into darkness. We had a nice talk and I have to conclude, although we are SO compatible and affectionate, we seem to have very different expectations for our relationship. So, I don't know if we will do the cruise together and most likely I won't go to Mexico in Jan. But you never know. He has invited me to a movie tomorrow afternoon. I hope things will be congenial and not too strained. The strain comes because he doesn't really communicate with me except for texting...very unsatisfying. So, I have to consider the thought of looking elsewhere! NOT what I want to do!!!

This separation has afforded me more time to deal with my personal situation and I have contacted a real estate agent and want to start looking for another house. I'd really like to be out of here within the year. I have A LOT of work to do!!

Currently, watching the MSU/OSU game. Good game.

Hi Beach

Welcome to the weekend!

Paused on your comment about Duane's interest. Hopefully, it's nothing more than a case of being tired from all the activities you two have been enjoying.

Sunny and 65° today. Mid 70s again by Veteran's Day. Linda and I will travel back to VB next week for granddaughter's 5th birthday.

Have a great weekend Beach!

HI Brillo8 and buddies

This is a day off...got my voting out of the way!

Off to the cottage and try to work on the shed doors. After 2 coats of primer on the awful particle board, I will put a coat of regular paint on. Then, the trim and hardware. Duane might come help me, but not too confident about his interest any more.

Hi Brillo8 and buddies

Bril...I've been at the cottage mostly this week getting things ready for the "deep freeze." I've been able to commute to GR for the gym and Sat job. If the gas prices weren't so low, I would never consider all this extra travel.

Also, I've got a nice Handywoman job repairing my shed. The doors most likely won't make it through the winter, especially if it's like last years record snowfall! Only Home Depot has the set-up to cut 4x8 sheets with the 2 cuts I needed...at least around here. That also made it MUCH easier to get them home in my NEW Kia Soul! I don't have a roof rack, so everything had to fit inside.

Job today is to prime the pieces and maybe get the old hardware off the rotting doors.

So, now with the extra hour, I can get that much more done!

Have a Super day, buddies

Hi Beach

Yep, the Giants won. But it was close. The Royals had the tying run on third base in the bottom of the 9th when the game ended.

We've been having some terrific weather here. Low 80s Tuesday, Wednesday. So Linda and I took two road trips this week. And I've been going some work outside. Fun, fun, fun! ....lol

Today we took advantage of the opportunity to vote early.

Have a fun Friday and a great weekend Beach!

Hi Brillo8 and buddies

Guess I fell asleep before the end of the World Series game and now am wide awake! Did I miss anything? I'll bet the Giants won.

I think this is the day I'll start work repairing the doors on my shed at the cottage. Looks to be a fairly easy job, but I have limited space and not exactly the right tools...but, I'll manage.

Hi Brillo8 and buddies

Bril...You're a busy guy! I should be so lucky! We just returned from a long weekend camping trip near Traverse City. We TRIED fishing...no luck except I caught a 5 inch lake perch...HaHaHa!!! We went hunting for deer...no luck there either! I took a 5mi hike around the little lake and saw the only deer on the entire trip...crossing the highway!! I don't do the shooting, just the scouting and Duane wasn't with me on the walk...so NO deer!

Wasn't that a great game last night! Doesn't matter to me who wins, I just like the action.

Well, now to prepare for the rest of the week ahead.

Bril...we watched the first 2 games and most likely will miss tonight's game. We are out in the woods and Duane wants to go hunting tonight and tomorrow morning! We have already been fishing twice on the little lake and I managed a 5" lake perch. Threw it back!

Off to the great adventure again!

Have a wonderful evening and weekend if I don't get back here until Sunday.

Hi Brillo8 and buddies

Bril...So good to catch up on your news. Bet the weather for your latest trip was gorgeous! We're seeing some very beautiful colors around the state. As long and heavy rain stays away, it will last a while longer.

Work is getting a little lighter...less demand. I traveled to Flint yesterday and today. I (we) have to spend a lot of time at the auction looking for the exact vehicles to take back! I have spent up to 2 hours looking for a car(s)! Not a really large area to look, either.

Tomorrow Duane and I will do a few things we each need to get done and then, we'll try to launch his "new" power boat in Muskegon Lake. I have an investment club meeting in the evening, then, we'll get together to pack the camper for a nice LONG weekend up north....fishing and perhaps hunting.

Currently, we're watching the 1st game of the World Series.

Have an enjoyable evening, buddies

Hi Beach!

Been so busy, I haven't been spending much time on the Internet lately.

Returned home from Virginia Thursday evening. Friday was a blur. Tons of errands. Saturday I washed and detailed both Linda's Camry and my old '95 Corolla. (I had done the same to my Tundra earlier last week)

Sunday was pretty much a day of rest. Today, after another trip into town for some grocery shopping, Linda and I took a road trip to the coast. Atlantic Beach, Morehead City and Beaufort. It was a fun day.

I see you have been real busy too. Hope you can spend more time with Duane in the coming weeks. And good luck with your projects, especially the shed!

62° currently.

Have a terrific Tuesday and a wonderful week!

Hi Brillo8 and buddies

Work was pretty easy and not too long. Many deliveries were quite close to each other, including one to a women who is living in a house I owned from 1970 to 1986. That was really weird. My two older sons grew up in that house!

Then to the cottage to continue cleaning and readying for winter. I want to check prices at Home Depot to see if they might be better...the materials for the shed, that is.

Later, Duane will arrive. Hope I have a bit more than a few hours with him!

Hi Brillo8 and buddies

What a weird day, yesterday. Weather wasn't the best for golf and Duane decided he would travel to Detroit area for his grandkids...so we saw each other for a couple of hours. During that time, we went to Menard's for a price on materials for a new shed at the cottage. I feel so disconnected on the project as he has such an eager fast-moving approach on these things, I'd like to think about everything for a bit longer.
And suddenly, he was gone... :( I have to work today and it's going to be a long one...Sweetest Day!

Happy Sweetest Day to my Buddies

Hi Brillo8 and buddies

Got home about 8:30 and all things put away by 9. Called my sweetie to see what time we'd play golf today....but alas, the weather was too iffy and he wanted to drive to Detroit for grandson and granddaughter homecoming football game tonight...no golf today.

I have to work tomorrow as it is Sweetest Day...whatever that means...LOL I should be busy!

Hi Brillo8 and buddies

Bril...I'm nearly all packed for my trip home. I wish I could bring my "sises" home with me. I feel like I'm part of the family already. Being away must be working because Duane sounds like he's missing me...and THAT'S a good thing!

Now for some breakfast, a movie, and finish packing. I feel I better leave before 1pm to TRY to avoid Chicago traffic.

Have a terrific day, buddies

Hi Brillo8 and buddies

Bril...my drive was a LONG one! 400 miles. I left about 9:30 my time and the temp was nearly 70 degrees. By the time I got to WI it was around 50 and I was in capris and sandles! Oh, lots of rain in WI, but traffic was easy. Getting around Chicago went reasonably well and NO rain, thank goodness.

So, I'm having a great time with my "future SILs." These 2 of the 4 sisters are so fun and interesting. A few years ago they put a dvd together about their family, starting with their parents and grandparents. I got to see so much of their history and get to know Duane more. It surely pulled at my heart-strings!

We're supposed to go around for a little color tour, etc today and watch more movies. This is the thing they do when they get together.

Have a happy hump day, buddies

Doing some last minute things before I leave for a nice visit w/ Duane's sisters. I hope it goes well...they've been great supporters for me.

Hi Brillo8 and buddies

Bril...That is some NICE weather you're having! We've had some moderate frost in Grant the last 2 mornings. Duane has been out hunting both mornings...not seeing anything...except for this am! I've heard shots out there and he hasn't returned yet...meaning we have missed church and he is probably out there cleaning something!!! Yesterday, he saw a small buck and wanted to go out w/ crossbow and bag it today.

So, I am having a very exciting life! We are going up north to see the colors and maybe check out some recreational/cottages to buy. He is SO ambitious!

Have a peacefilled day, buddies
