Hey, y'all.

JF, don't blow the big bucks on that fancy wasp/hornet spray. Go by Auto Zone and get a couple cans of carburetor cleaner. That's all I use anymore for wasps and the dang worms that sometimes overrun my trees in big "gatherings" before they go on up higher, then drop down on there single silks to bed in and cover themselves all over the house, the fences, etc.

You can hit a wasp nest with one good shot of carb cleaner and they just fall in all directions. I've always been a showoff like my Pop was with wasp nests, though, so if I have an admiring crowd around, I'll just quickly grab the whole mess...wasps and nest....and give it a quick squeeze. Ends up kinda icky to see the "juice" run out between my fingers, but what the heck....I rarely get stung, and it makes for a good show.

LOL LOL LOL, etc.

But, yeah, as Sir Joe says, use the Benadryl Spray or ointment AND take a couple of the 50mg pills of Benadryl.

Ohboy, I think I'll try to get to sleep early tonight. Gotta go see Doc Kozelski about this tooth at one tomorrow. I have decided to ask him again if it even MIGHT be possible to save it, though. The thing feels solid as a rock to me, and most of the time, it doesn't even hurt....and I KNOW I'm going to miss it.

Maybe he'll give it a shot if I don't ask for any guarantees.

Good night, everyone. Wish me luck with the sleeping.

JF, I feel your pain! I got stung by several yellowjackets once, mostly around the head and neck, and got hives around my waist. I used to carry an epipen after that, but got tired of having to renew the scrip.

And a mayor of a town near Montreal was stung by a swarm of bees and died a couple of weeks ago -- so we both could have been a lot worse.

Massive rainstorm here right now, with more water on the roads than I've ever seen. And of course we were having to drive through it, and then run into house with no umbrella. We are drying off fine, but the cat was out and I've never seen him wetter! He looked at least 3 shades darker than his normal tabby grey.

Benadryl pills! HA! Don't get me wrong doc, I'm not laughing at your having to take them to sleep, I'm laughing at the coincidence.

I was out to the burning pit weed whipping around the edge of the pit to kinda clean it up a bit when all of a sudden I whipped myself right dead center into a wasp nest! I was really, really STUPID today. I was only wearing sweats which I cut off above the knees, and a t shirt! Barefoot to boot!

Stupid, stupid, STUPID! My baby girl told me to try some benadryl ointment. I told her I didn't have any. About 30 minutes later she was knocking on the door with a huge tube! What a sweetheart!

I have 4 welts on my right leg and 10 on my left! Talk about burning! Tomorrow when I can walk without the burning sensations I'll get to the store for some hornet spray, or whatever I can find to kill bees.

Thank God I'm not allergic, or I'd probably be with my Nancy again! Quite the day around here... Later

Good morning! Gee, I'd just love to mow today, but the mower is in for repair after the handle broke. Should be welded tomorrow, but the repair place isn't optomistic about the weld holding.

Forecasts here were for rain yesterday, but that never happened. So we're having a nice weekend, and not complaining one bit!

Happy Sunday! 72 degrees this morning.

We had a great day yesterday. I cleaned out the gutters and got a surprise call from our son who wanted us to baby-site the grand-girls last night so he and the d-in-law could go out. Shock, shock! We took the girls to dinner at Truett's Luau and let them play for a while and then took them back to their house for baths and a movie.

We have our viewing party this evening.

Off to start the day.

Have a great day all!

Morning everyone!

Cooler, dryer and cloudy with a 50% chance of rain today! Only thing left on the list is mowing the backyard. That'll have to wait until later today, if at all. At least we got our walk in this am! Gotta get ready for mass.

Have a great day everyone! Later

Had a nice outing with friends on the lake, now back at the cabin. We'll head into town with another friend for dinner and grocery shopping.

The weather looks good for the whole week. Still might have to lose a day Wednesday for court, but we'll find out Monday.

Doc, phantom pains? I know the feeling with a few toes missing on my left foot when I fell 40 feet 28 years ago.

What a weird sensation...

WR, Lake Minnetonka is definitely visible on a approach from the northwest at MSP.

That's a pretty big lake with all the coves islands and bay's. And, a lot of wealthy people.

Yo.

I'm here, but after the night I had, not too happy about it. Got coffee, anyway, so maybe the afternoon will be better. Dang allergies are getting to me, and I think maybe the CPAP mask I have is about finished, too. Got a new one coming, probably Monday...which is also the day I'm supposed to get this (**(*&&^& tooth "surgically extracted." Fun, huh?

What I don't get about teeth is that some of the upper ones that were extracted years ago still hurt sometimes. Bet I'm not alone with that!

ANYway, I sure want to get Peppy and Sir Linus to the vet today to catch up on their shots, but Kimbu says she'll go with me tomorrow, so that may be the way things happen.

More coffee right now, though, so I'll be back with you loverlies later.

Happy Saturday! 76 degrees this morning. Got the opportunity to sleep in some this morning to start the weekend.

Indeed, my telework day was a good one!

Mick - good advice about Africa to your retiring colleague. I'll make sure I remember that advice when I travel there next month. Of course, my trip is for work as an official site visit so you guys are paying for it.

We have a light weekend with only the viewing party for the play in which I served as the orchestra conductor several months back. I completed yard-work last night after the temperature cooled down.

Off to start the day.

Have a great day all!

72 degrees, 73 degrees dew point. Foggy. Suppose to cool down and dry out later this evening with cool, dry and windy conditions tomorrow! Thank you!

Good evening. 'Bout to prepare myself some delicious fried catfish. Yeah, I know..fried isn't too good for fatboys, but there are times when you just can't face another salad.

MickD, as I remember from a video I saw somewhere a while back, there may be times --- especially in zoos --- when lions also may not be smiling when they show their OTHER ends. Some gal was getting "up too close and too personal" with a lion for a picture when the lion turned around and sprayed her GOOD! Other irritated caged animals will do that, too, and I'm betting the "aroma" is LASTING!

LOL LOL LOL, etc.

Later...got some stuff going.

Happy Friday! 70 degrees this morning.

Congratulations Wildcat!

I am teleworking today so no commute woes to plague me. Speaking of traffic, yesterday afternoon's commute was horrible with the rain and other maladies; it took me 90 mins to travel 29 miles.

My wife and I enjoyed our calendar coupon milkshake with dinner at Truett's Grill last night. When we return home we got in a walk before the rains returned. The rain cooled things off a bit so it was a rather comfortable walk.

Off to breakfast and start the day beginning with an 8:00a call to Ethiopia.

Have a great day all!

Good morning, Docputer. Tried two times to post my own message, but failed, so I'll tailgate yours.

My eldest son and his lovely wife, made Pam and me grandparents on the 22nd. Sierra Primrose made her appearance at 110 am, weighing in at 7 lbs 15 oz, 19 inches long and with far more hair on her head than her poor old grandpappy has on his. LOL

Our first, but, hopefully, not our last.

Loree, I hope your friend recovers, from the cancer and the surgery.

We are hoping for good weather tomorrow, since we are going to try to see an outdoor play. Shakespeare in the park is a cliche, but at least they are doing Titus Andronicus this time.

I am here to ask y'all for some help if you can swing it. I have a good friend from high school named Louise who has suffered from a brain tumor and the craniotomy did not get the whole tumor. She is experiencing all sorts of physical, mental, and financial trauma. Her brother Steve has set up a gofundme page asking for donations. You can read the whole story there.

If you can make a small donation, even if it's just a dollar, it would be greatly appreciated. If you can share the page on any other social media site you belong to, it will help. Here is the link to her page:

Please help Louise

Her brother Steve is a Viet Nam combat vet, and her other brother Dave lost his son in Iraq a few years back.

Good morning.

Thanks, FOF. I've done that in the past, but now I use the same thing in generic form, which is much cheaper. (I'm part Scottish, you know. lol) Things in that area are MUCH better, but now this tooth that needs to go is KILLING me! I called the dentist who tried to convince me of that a few days ago, but now he's out of town, so it'll be Monday before I can get some relief from that.

When it rains, it's a downpour! Hopefully I've got some of that numbing junk here in one of my drawers.

The GOOD news is that the old HP laptop I was tentatively changing out the motherboard in is just about done. Man, was I getting LOST! When all else fails, though, including the ((*&^&**^&* "service manual," I go to YouTube.com --- where I found a "quick video" done by some little HOTshot nerd that demos exactly where all the screws go, etc. After following him along --- with pauses along the way --- I have the thing more than half done now, so pretty soon it'll be as good as new --- only it's an OLD model.

Neat thing is these things last a lifetime, generally, and they're as touch as the aircraft "black boxes." I've given 'em to most of my grandkids and half my friends...and even sold one. Got one going up on eBay today, as a matter of fact, so I hope some of you will at least check it out and pass the word.

MAN, I'm sleepy! Couldn't sleep well because of the dang tooth, so pretty soon now, I may take some dope and hit the sack again. Then again, I might mow a bit more of my Everglades grass before I do that. Did a little of it last night. Felt good to get out and move, and the back yard is more than half done now.

Later...y'all have fun.

doc if you want some relief I know this sounds funny but get yourself some monostate the sort of cream lady's use for yeast infections, add a few drops of white vinegar and rub it over the infected area, you should get some real relief from that.

Morning everyone!

Beautiful morning for a walk. The RunKeeper app on my iPhone says 2.38 miles. Sure didn't feel like it.

Going for a bike ride after my corn flakes and banana. Will usually ride 20 some miles, but we'll see.

The scanner sure is lively this morning! One call after the other. Slow down folks! Tickets are terribly expensive these days, let alone the resulting premium adjustments! Ask my s-i-l! HA!
