Good morning.

...and Happy Easter....period.

EAT LESS BEEF! The Chinese need it worse than you do!

Yessir, yessir, we know there's a drought! We heard about that!

We also heard that American beef producers are loading TONS and MEGA-tons of American beef onto ships going to CHINA!

Why is that?

MONEY, doooooooods.....MONEY!

As far as the Chinese are concerned, THERE IS NO DROUGHT AND NO SHORTAGE OF ANYTHING!

Why?

'CAUSE THEY GOT THE MONEY!

HAPPY EASTER, China!

OK, changed avatar pics. Pic of that giant balloon Easter bunny is here. Couldn't see it well enough in the avatar pic.

New avatar pic is of Bug dressed as a pirate over at a neighbor's house this afternoon, still sideways, though, but there's an app for that! LOL (ImageZoom if you're still using Firefox.)

Happy Easter, everyBuddy!

doc: my avatar pic is of Bug with this giant (nearly 8' with the balloons it's holding up) balloon Easter Bunny that was in the lobby of the Corner Bar restaurant and which the manager saw Bug being so fascinated by that he gave it to us! Giant pain in the patootie trying to get it into the car! LOL

Stupid GB app keeps turning my pics sideways from my phone, if I take the pic especially for it or upload a gallery pic, doesn't really matter. Maybe I'll try to get it into my latest Bug pics album....

Joe- Doin' fine. Going back to work on a Modified Duty basis, supposedly on the 28th, probably in HR doing filing...not exciting work , but better than cabin fever. 12 through 16 May, still on Light Duty, I'll be working on the hospital's "Lean Project," helping set up a program for nurse training on how NOT to lose patient belongings.

Happy Easter and tell Geez to SEE BELOW for the Bunny Trail.

GR Moore- Congratulations on the music career...37 years...that's a long satisfying time. I played drums with various musical groups, theater, country, old standards, rock, one night stands for over 25 years and I miss it, but other things...like making a living...precluded the fun. May your "fun" continue through the years.

Greetings Doc, Baylee, Mindy, PayPump, Mick, WRINC, Joelimo, Geezer, Wack, MadDogUSMC, Loree71, Full of Fun, Chasms, blkvette00, Psycho Sid, & Others:

Happy Saturday! It's 55 degrees and raining.

Thanks all for the Army Band anniversary and music congratulations! It continues to be a fun ride!

Doc - yeah, life always seems to send us in different directions.... I like to think it evens out, though! ;)

MadDog - Thanks! Indeed; unfortunately it's probably more of the lab software vendors that "own" the government and those who must use their software!

Baylee - Yep; it's a nice "perk."

We had the hotel's free breakfast after sleeping in for a little bit and then made 'lemonade out of lemons' (weather-wise). Originally, we planned to walk around Stone Mountain this morning, but it's raining so we worked out on the treadmill in the hotel fitness room. :)

I have my rehearsal this afternoon at 1:00p for tomorrow's services and my wife will visit a friend in the area. We will go to dinner (provided) by the church at a local restaurant. This is the 8th or 9th time I have played for this particular church so it's a nice time of fellowship and Sunday worship.

Off to continue the day.

Have a great day all!

Any Easter Eve parties going on tonight? Y'know, with the spiked egg nog and all.

Can anyone tell me exactly where the Bunny Trail is?

'Morning. Too early for me, but I had an eye problem that wouldn't let me sleep. Should've washed my hands last night after the BBQ, I guess. Seems I didn't, and sometime during the night I rubbed my eyes and got Jack Daniels BBQ sauce in one of 'em.

OOOOWWWWWtch!

ANYway, now I've got that washed out good and had a Special K breakfast sandwich, some coffee, and got my "sticking and shooting and pill-popping" done, so maybe pretty soon now I can go back to bed.

Gonna have to....m'eyes are sleeeeepy...

Good morning everyone,

Got the deep-cleaning on the grill done yesterday, and the same with the first half of the garage. Today I'll have the other part of the garage, but anything outdoor has to be in the morning - rain in the forecast.

I should park the vehicles outside. They could use the bath.

That's awesome grmoore...congrats on that career! As for the computers....sounds like the government. Our laptop plugs into the remote PLC after the data highway cable is disconnected and we can reload the software to the PLC or debug it. It's pretty cool. I only wish the battery would last longer or the last person that used it would charge it up! LOL

grm, that sounds like a great way to spend the weekend, getting paid to hang out at a nice hotel!

Good morning, all.

Congratulations on that fantastic career, grmoore. It must be a wonderful thing to go the route of doing what you actually most enjoy for a lifetime. My own "road not taken" was at the end of my high school career, when my choir director told me to get myself to Tuscaloosa to the University of Alabama, where there was a guaranteed four-year voice scholarship waiting with my name on it. I was scared to death....had never even been out of Talladega County, really --- so I didn't even mention it to my parents or anybody else.

Ah, well....so it was at least a possibility that my home town friend, Jim Nabors, and I might BOTH be living in Hawaii now.

But God "disposes," so chances are I wouldn't have made the grade there....or that I would have been run over by a garbage truck on the way to class...or something...

...so it's all good. Here I am looking at "what's next," and I don't see what went before as too bad. Not even bad, really.

Oh, WELL......

Got the LL (Lard Level) headed DOWN again, for a change. THAT is goooooood!

...and I sure do love y'all.

Greetings Doc, Baylee, Mindy, PayPump, Mick, WRINC, Joelimo, Geezer, Wack, MadDogUSMC, Loree71, Full of Fun, Chasms, blkvette00, Psycho Sid, & Others:

Happy Friday! 55 degrees and rain forecasted.

Thirty-seven years ago today (although on a Monday), I passed my final audition at the Armed Forces School of Music to officially begin my Army Band career. I am thankful for all of those who helped me get to that day!

MadDog - yeah, that's interesting! We have several PCs & servers that run some pretty old OS's in our labs because the vendors won't upgrade their software to run on new versions. The risk is minimal (if any at all) because the systems don't touch the outside world (Internet, etc.).

It's been a week, so I am thankful Friday has arrived! Traffic was absolutely atrocious yesterday morning!

My wife and I will leave late this afternoon for a short "get away" as I have been hired to play for an Easter "gig" this weekend so they will put us up in a hotel for a few days due to early morning starts (rehearsal and services).

Off to start the day.

Have a great day all!

Good morning everyone,

Our order/invoicing software is DOS, and would cost a bunch to rewrite it for Windows. The one computer uses Win98, and the only others that can read it without a mess is XP.

...but 7 is a jewel!

Anybody want to bet that XP is "terminal"? I got a few bucks...not many...but I'm willing to bet it'll be around for several more years. My doctors are still using it. I know lots of othere who're still using it. Win7 is definitely better, though.

Oh, well, WR-INC, I guess you're out of luck with the Win78/Win8 laptop I told you about. My neighbor's daughter heard about it and called me today. She'll pick it up on Saturday. I can still round up another one, though, if you want one. That'd be a comparatively cheap way to find out how terrific Win7 is. You'll never even want to look back at XP.

Setting some fence posts and poring cement I popped a zipper and now have a hernia. The doctor's words weren't welcome. Don, you are now 65--have to slow down. 2011-- The fence fell down. During chemo and radiation I replaced the sucker as the jerk behind me wouldn't help.

I do read once in awhile YES I DO. Learned Pilgrams rarely if never bathed as their religious believe nudity was a sin. Their outer clothing never was washed but did once in awhile change undies

In the 1700's it was still tradition. Don't know about you folks, smelling ripe sends me to the showers

Good morning.

MickD, that just really sad. I'm so sorry. Financial gloom is a powerful kind of darkness, though, and I can understand. That's the main reason I'd never again become a teacher if I had it to do over again. I VERY rarely felt at ease financially, and that's just not fair to a wonderful family. I didn't treat them right because I was so miserable most of the time. Nope...never again...I'd go for the "gold." Fortunately, retirement is a lot better in that respect. Everything we have is shabby, but it belongs to us 100% and other planning was well done, and we've just had good fortune --- such as the gift of the Buick --- fall into our laps, so shabby or not, it's all good now.

WR-INC, I'd call that cutting off your nose to spite your face. Don't let those people do that to you! Let me send you a cheapo laptop with Windows 7 on it so you can continue to get your updates. Heck, I PAID Garmin for mine, and I WILL have 'em 'til I croak. No stuff --- you WILL like Windows 7 better than you did/do XP! Fact is, I just got the latest update to Windows 8.1, and I like it even better.

Later....gotta get to the pharmacy for the BP meds and get all the rest of my pills down.

Happy Thursday! 41 degrees this morning.

Early morning meeting so I'm in early and will son be on the road (outside of the carpool). Here's hoping traffic shines favorably on my commute.

Mick - please accept our condolences.

Doc - Yeah, I've also been through that drill - he finally moved me to Crestor every other day. It seems to significantly lessen the cramps. I also take Zetia and my numbers have stayed down...

MadDog - re: GB mobile app - mine works most of the time. I like the newest interface and functionality.

Off to start the day.

Have a great day all!

Good morning everyone,

Sorry to hear about your loss MickDiesel.

Docputer,

My Garmin programs have been giving me notice that since MicroSoft is abandoning XP, they will abandon allowing me to use XP to continue their "lifetime map and traffic" updates. Guess who's abandoning Garmin?
