And, WR, along with geezer, could limit out for walleye's in the early AM and then play (9) holes with their white dimpled balls in the PM.

Good morning everyone,

Finally hit the golf course yesterday morning, might be able to do it again this morning. Then we borrowed a weed cutter from a neighbor to dredge a path to the dock from the lake. The weeds are thicker than I've ever seen them, and the State likes it that way.

A neighborhood get-together on the patio finished the day nicely. I think that my wife and a neighbor are garage sailing today.

Good morning, everyone!

grmoore, it's so cool you have such a great relationship with your family. I always enjoy reading your comments. My daughter and I schedule a lunch every month at the Applebee's near-by her work. She can take a couple hrs for lunch, but it never seems to be enough! Every now and then my daughter, her man and my grandson go to their local Red Robin. I'm not much for hamburgers, but they have a good selection of chicken dishes. It's always such a great time!

Well, the girls are restless and the sun is up enuff to see clearly. I'm outta here!

Have a great day, everyone! Later

Joseph, it surely would have been nice during MY career if I could have just got together with all the other teachers to vote ourselves a lil' raise once in a while when times got tough --- like maybe when the yacht payments got a bit too onerous or the villa in the South of France needed a lil' repair, or the boathouse at Kennebunkport needed a new roof --- or maybe when ketchup wasn't selling too well or the Compound needed another goldplating in MassaTwoShits or I needed to kick in a little something when things went wrong on the way back from a "cook-out" or something like that there.

Best I ever got was a few bucks "donation" from my parents....who were living on Social Security....which is now going broke.

Oh, well, unless the Screamers are in charge, Heaven should be better. If they are, I'm asking for a transfer.

Good morning.

WR, you are correct. Look what our congresspuds are PAYING THEMSELVES and you can see that high pay does not mean high performance....just the opposite in the case of these putzes --- which is why I emailed all of my CongressPuds yesterday telling them:

"YOU STINK! SHIITE OR GET OFF THE POT! YOU'RE SENDING US TO OLD WHORE NATION STATUS LIKE BRITAIN AND FRANCE! GOD HELP THE USA!"

I also mentioned "the shot heard 'round the world." Reckon the FBI will be visiting me?

Gotta go...taking The LuLu to her drug pusher.

well here is the updown on what the average costs here in Ontario to have a crown

Typical costs:

•The cost of a dental crown depends on the materials used; the size, location and condition of the tooth; local rates; and the dentist's training and experience. Dental insurance might cover about 50% of the cost if the crown is needed for medical reasons, but dental crowns are typically not covered if they are considered cosmetic, and many dental plans have a maximum annual coverage limit of $1,000-$1,500.
•Porcelain-fused-to-metal crowns can cost $500-$1,500 or more per tooth. For example, CostHelper readers without insurance coverage report paying $875-$1,400 for porcelain-fused-to-metal crowns, at an average cost of $1,093. CostHelper readers with insurance report out-of-pocket expenses of $282-$1,000, with an average payment of $618.
•Metal crowns of gold alloy (called high noble metal) or of base metal alloys (non-noble) can cost $600-$2,500 or more per tooth. CostHelper readers without insurance report paying $830-$2,465 for a metal crown, at an average cost of $1,353. CostHelper readers with insurance report out-of-pocket expenses of $519-$1,140, for an average payment of $882.
•All-porcelain crowns require a higher level of skill and take more time to install than metal or porcelain-fused-to-metal crowns, and can cost $800-$3,000 or more per tooth. CostHelper readers without insurance report paying $860-$3,000, at an average cost of $1,430. CostHelper readers with insurance report out-of-pocket expenses of $530-$1,875, for an average payment of $953.

docputer,

I don't think that high pay means better education. Look at how much we pay the entire political system - elected and not.

Happy Wednesday! 60 degrees this morning.

The cooler weather is nice (surprising for July!) so our walk last night was quite enjoyable.

Tonight we have dinner plans with our daughter. This is our last free Wednesday for a while as rehearsals start again next Wednesday.

Training went well yesterday.

Off to start the day.

Have a great day all!

Looks like I am destined to do any napping in the recliner for the next few hours. Don has used the nebulizer at least four times in the last 12 hours that I know about, and now he has BOTH wedge pillows and all four of the other ones in use. Yet he claims he's not bad enough for a trip to urgent care.
I know heat and humidity play a part in his problems this week, but now we are getting the smoke and ash particulates from the fires in NorCal. I may have to make him wear a mask even inside the house. I certainly won't be going to the Chicago concert this Friday without making sure I have a couple of masks AND his rescue inhaler with me!

Morning all!

My s-i-l went to his dentist a few months back because of wisdom teeth issues and another tooth that he needed cut out for whatever reason. He was referred to a surgical guy (oral surgeon or orthodontist maybe?, I don't remember anymore), and made mention that he believed the surgical dude was making $3000.00 an hour. He gave me that figure from the bill that he received for services rendered.

I know what profession I'd love my grandson to get into!

Yesterday my baby girl's due date was adjusted to March 14th, 2015! And, only one in the oven, not to the two she kept dreaming about and stressing over! She's a happy little camper now! If I could post the video of the the little baby's heartbeat, I would! It's so awesome...

My only other thought: "Handle every stressful situation like a dog. If you can't eat it or hump it, pee on it and walk away!" Unknown (to me).

Have a great day everyone! Later

Yep, Choco, and it's also idiotic, stupid, asinine, and inexcusable; but it's the way of the world:

"Those who have the family jewels of the masses well in hand shall increase their store of same or similar." - docputer

I was reading something on Facebook a while ago about the Finlanders paying their teachers as if they were doctors, which, according to the article, explains why Finland's educational system makes ours look like K-Mart Kindergarten.

Could be.

I was down, but now I be up. Dogs were barking. I think they've discovered if they bark during the night, I'll get up to see what's going on and give 'em snausages while I'm up. Gonna check that out by no longer issuing snacks in the middle of the night.

Meanwhile, I'll play a few stupid games and try it again. Gotta get The LuLu to her Dope Doc tomorrow at eleven.

Night, all.

Dentists and doctors seem to think their patients are made of money and they try to extract as much as they can. A simple extraction is over $400 which is imbecilic.

Happy Day, y'all.

The newly-departed tooth has caused me no real problem at all. Also slept fairly well last night --- not a lot of hours, but okay, at least. I do think the loss of all that infection (that I hadn't even noticed, really), is already making me feel better, and the two little fillings that Doc Kozelsky did took care of the pain I'd been having.

So all is well in the dental department, except for wondering why/how in HADES a plain-old crown should cost over a GRAND! WOW!

Oh, well, I guess dentists have to have yachts, too.

I do go and have not had to have anything done in a few years just the cleaning thing,
I love the water pic has been wonderful as I have those bad English teeth that have no spaces between the water pic gets in there a flushes anything a toothbrush and floss cant get out. I was surprised at how much gets in-between your teeth and gums.
Its very cool today will only get to 68 today it was only 60.8 when I left home this morning

Good morning everyone,

I slept like a log last night. Hoping to hit the golf course this morning.

docputer,

I had a tooth pulled about a month ago. It had a root canal 30 years ago, was crowned, but the root splintered. Next they'll do the implant prep in November, by which time the socket should have filled with bone. Then another crown.

Morning everyone!

Might as well get up, can't sleep. Legs ache to beat the band. But they're both getting better, finally! Not enuff to sleep well though. Not sure why that when the burning and sting went away they turned on the ache, but they did. Part of the game of being bit by bees, I guess.

Sorry to hear about your dentistry issues, doc! The Good Lord has blessed me with good, strong teeth. I never have done anything special, just brush 'em regular like. I've lost two teeth to the dentists over the years and a few have been drilled and filled. Maybe it's due to my having no desire for sweets? Whenever I go in for a cleaning/checkup, and mind you, despite what you hear on the news about the VA, they keep on top of scheduling [my] cleanings/checkups very, very well, they're always impressed. Keeps me happy, too!

Time to get out with the girls! 61 degrees and dry! I love it! We're going to walk and walk and walk this morning because we might not get to walk tomorrow!

Have a great day everyone! Later

BayleeBug, it was deLISH! Live a little --- try something different once in a while!

LOL LOL LOL, etc.

A crown is my next dental adventure, MadDog. Only thing that's holding me up is the price tag: alMOST $1200!

Sure sounds out of line to me! I'm thinking I'll get a second opinion....or a second estimate!

'Monna sign off, y'all....I sure do love you!

Doc....I just had an appointment recently with the dentist. I have not been since 96. I felt a whole root canal. I finally sucked it up and went back to the dentist. I have to have my whole mouth deep cleaned and 3 crowns. They started the crowns and I still have to have my deep cleanings....done in 4 quadrants. Good luck brother!

Peanut butter AND chocolate AND strawberries AND yogurt ? ? ? Together ? ? ? ? ? I really like all of them, but don't want to think about the combination.

"Soft diet is advised during the first 24 hours" the destructions say, so I guess I have to leave off my Chinkanese food that I've been craving for a while now. Believe me, though, I'm making a RAID on Golden Wok tomorrow or the next day.

Right now I have a bowl of vanilla ice cream with a generous splash of chocolate powder in the middle and --- believe it or not --- a BIG spoonful of peanut butter atop THAT! Mixed up...ohboy....GOOOOOOOOOD!

Now I've slopped in a container of Strawberry Activia yogurt, and this is even BETTER!

Hmmmmmmmm.....what else y'reckon I could dump in here?

LOL LOL LOL, etc

I'm exhausted. I dragged some dead trees one at a time to a friend's burn pile. Under the last one there was a patch of poison ivy. When I finished, I went back to the cabin and showered with hot water. Then I put on the wet suit and went into the lake to pull weeds. The wet suit is to protect me from snail parasites, which give me a similar reaction to poison ivy. Unfortunately it's black, so it also absorbs the heat.

Ah, well, the really bad toof is gone and the one I was really worried about losing has been filled and is solid as a rock, so even though I'm chomping a wad of gauze in a completely dead jaw, I'm a happy camper. Almost $300 bucks poorer, but happy, anyway. Que sera and all that furrin' stuff....

(By the way, I watched Doris Day's 90th birthday party on YouTube and that sweet gal is STILL pretty.

THOSE were the days, My Friend! NObody in the entertainment business today would even qualify to be her backup.

To do today: Avoid wasps and bees. Buy some benadryl, pills and ointment for the medicine chest. Stop by the auto supply store and pick up a can of carb cleaner.

Good morning everyone,

Sorry everyone is having insect problems. My only one so far this vacation was a woodtick wandering up my leg minding his own business. He's now between two pieces of scotch tape in the garbage.

Greetings Doc, Baylee, Mindy, PayPump, Mick, WRINC, Joelimo, Geezer, Wack, MadDogUSMC, Loree71, Full of Fun, Chasms, blkvette00, Psycho Sid, & Others:

Happy Monday! Monday, proof that weekends come to an end.... It was a good weekend, though. 77 degrees this morning and rain forecasted.

MNJrFan - hope you get some relief soon!

Our cast viewing party was awesome last night.

Off to breakfast and work.

Have a great day all!
