Good morning. So good to see the children are already here playing and practicing intellectual endeavors:

There's WR-INC practicing "clever."
Grmoore practicing EVERYTHING.
JF practicing "nice guy."
....and, of course, there's Geezer practicing Geezer.

LOL LOL LOL, etc

Betcha' Sir Joseph has already shaved off a mountain or two and collected half a dozen Tennessee wildcats for the kids to play with.

LOL LOL LOL, etc., etc.

Me, I gotta git ready to go see another doctor.

Anybody wanna buy a laptop? How 'bout THREE laptops? Five?

Oh, well....

Greetings Doc, Baylee, Mindy, PayPump, Mick, WRINC, Joelimo, Geezer, Wack, MadDogUSMC, Loree71, Full of Fun, Chasms, blkvette00, Psycho Sid, & Others:

Happy Monday! 65 degrees and foggy this morning.

Thanks so much for the thoughts and prayers you have expressed.

Baylee - there is family in the Tampa Bay area that have been and will stay with her.

We're off to drive to FL in a few hours to attend to the details of my father-in-law's passing. I would appreciate prayers for travel mercies and consolation to all involved.

I didn't have time to watch sports yesterday as I was preparing for today's travel and getting work affairs in order since I'll be out for an extra 3 days. We were already scheduled to fly down on Thursday (the 18th) but those plans quickly changed.

By the way, the "touted bereavement fares" offered by only a few airlines is laughable! First, you have to call to obtain the prices. Next, they initially quoted me the same price as what was regularly available online, and when I so indicated, they would only come off of the regular price about $60 for a $400 - 500 per person ticket. The $400+ flights represents an increase of around $200 depending on the day of the week when you are inside the 14 day advance window.

Off to it.

Have a great day all!

Good morning all!

I got a call the other day and was asked to spend a few weeks helping out up to the St Cloud VA as they're short volunteers. My pleasure, of course! They ALWAYS treated my dad like a saint!

Best get a move on...

Have a great day everyone! Later

grm, I'm sorry about your family's loss. Is there someone who can stay with your mother-in-law for a while?

It has been a nice quiet weekend for a change - and I'm glad we did our camping last weekend rather than this one.

Condolences Gr.

Today was football from 10 A. M. to a few minutes ago. Cool day. Got gas prices and came home, turned on tv and napped through the Jacksonville game. Enjoyed the Chargers and got the final quarter of the Green Bay one. Good.

Well, I stayed up late and paid for it with a bad blood sugar reading. LOTS better to get to bed at a reasonable time and get up fairly early. Oh, well...

Grmoore, I also am sorry about the loss of your father-in-law, but I feel as you do about that. When I'm to the point at which I'm in pain all the time or I'm "a pain" for all those I love to care for, I shall consider it the greatest blessing of my life to be allowed to just keep on sleeping some night. I know lots of folks won't believe this, but I have "seen the light" MANY years ago, and I KNOW there's something MUCH better coming.

Later, all...I just hit the ^&*^&^ key and had to edit...dammit...

Greetings Doc, Baylee, Mindy, PayPump, Mick, WRINC, Joelimo, Geezer, Wack, MadDogUSMC, Loree71, Full of Fun, Chasms, blkvette00, Psycho Sid, & Others:

Happy (of sorts) Sunday! 70 degrees this morning.

We received word a little before 7:00a this morning that my wife's father and my father-in-law passed away in his sleep around 4:00a this morning. He would have been 82 on 9/23. We were departing on Thursday (9/18) to fly down to celebrate my wife's birthday (9/18) and his. They talked on nearly everyday and he was in significantly declining health having just been released from the hospital last week. He died at home, which is where he wanted to be. He was just worn out and is now in a better place.

I would appreciate prayers for all concerned as we traverse this time.

The Georgia State football team stayed with Air Force during most of the second half yesterday but had given them too much of a "head-start" in the first half. They lost by 10. I am off from PA duties for the remainder of September which is a great thing given the circumstances referenced in paragraph 1 above.

Have a great day all!

Good morning everyone,

Had our good friends up the hill over for dinner last night, as we discussed plans for their son to be our carpenter when we add a room to the cabin next year and move the "guest house" to the other side of the bluff to use as a storage shed.

For the last (2) decades I've never lost faith or my great admiration for Camden, New Jersey!

geezer probably drinks Joy-Zee shine in the bowels of Camden..

lol and so forth

But Detroit is pretty cool with more than (14) individual motorcycle gang clubhouses!..*grin*

I've been in all of them over the course of the last 35+ years. Lots of boob contests and cold Bloatweiser.

Their homicide rate has always been in the top five...per capita, now it's falling.

Geez, we've had the condo in San Diego for several years and it looks like we'll have it for six more minimum--until grand daughter graduates high school, at least. Her daddy, my son, loves it there in San Diego and since we keep the rent pretty low, he loves it even more.

I'm really sorry for the folks in Orange County what with the fires a blazing. We tangled with that one year we were in Rowland Heights, near Chino. The fire got to within six or eight blocks. I'm almost glad we are now in Las Vegas.

Wack says it's up in the hundreds in Cucamonga or Fresno or wherever. It's cooler out here than it is there. Again, glad we moved. Las Vegas is turning out to be a good place weatherwise--at least this year and last. Stay away from the Strip and don't venture out at night to dodge drunk drivers and everything is OK.

'Morning.

Wellum, I now apparently have the "unsolvable dilemma" on my hands:

Had a Sony Vaio PCG-FXA47 given to me the other day.....OLLLLD mother....but still pretty neat. Checked the memory specs on it, and 512 is max. It HAS two 256 sticks IN it, but no matter WHAT, it only shows 256. RATS! I've tried everything I could think of, and still can't get the thing to show more...put in the only other stick of PC133 I had in the house (I've probably thrown away ten or fifteen!), reversed the placement of the sticks....NOthing!

KEE-rap! So now I've ordered two NEW....MATCHING....sticks that'll be here Monday. Then we shall see what we shall see. WhatEVER happens with the new memory, this thing is going up on eBay Monday....CHEAP!

WASTIN' MY TIME! (Heard the black lady "judge" on TV? LOL LOL LOL, etc.)

Later...I gotta go see if Sweet Sue's ready for our "deep sand race."

HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA-CHA-CHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

Well, fire season oficially arrived along with the forecast locally for sunny, dry and 102F. Put yer shorts back on, Geezer and com'on out fer a dip in the pool.

Silverado Canyon's ablaze now, not too far from where I sit. I can watch it on the hospital's CCTV. Helo's dropping water, DC-10 flame retartdant-dropping jets and lotsa fire crews. Started yesterday at 1030 in someone's back yard, and quickly spread through the heavy dry underbrush through the national forest and up over the mountain

I saw the initial white plume of smoke erupt at gound level and shoot skyward like an a-bomb had been dropped...scarey!

This will be the first Saturday that there's heavy street construction happening on a weekend. I assume they're behind schedule.

Good news received yesterday for my wife at her eye appointment. The "gel" has separated from the retina with no tearing!

Today it was only 104 with higher temps for the weekend. You think I'm going to stay home with the mountains one hour away with daily temps in the mid 70's?

Hi There!!!
I'm sorry Doc but this morning I figgered I'd change the oil on Lil Loves car and check out why it's been getting Dramatically louder in the last week or so,,,
the last time I looked under the hood was right after she picked it out and I paid for it last year, nice lookin little Nissan Maxima,,,
I go to put the jack under it and see it's Really rusty lookin under there so I go pick the hood up and Surprise,,,a Total Rust Fest!
after a little more lookin around I find Mud and Sand and Rocks on Top of the gas tank,,,
put it all together and it means it was a Flood Car!
first I called my Noo Yawk Lawyer and then I went out and got her a new Chrysler 200,,,
there's a Lot more goin on too so I'll try to give you a buzz Tamarra,,,
Needless to say it was an Aggravatingly Busy,Expensive Long Day,,,Ya Think!

Doc, geez has pretty well sold that house, but his step-daughter still has a really nice-looking place that she can't sell. If we could transport it the few hundred miles, we'd love to have it at our place!

FoF, there are lots of good deals in the NW corner of NY State, around Lockport and Jamestown, less than an hour from the border.
