After having so many people admire my pictures on my profile someone suggested a "Pets" topic. Gas Buddy suggested I start it here. Here goes!

Tiger unplugged the power cord on my laptop by biting it. (It's an Apple MagSafe 2 connector designed to come loose before the computer gets pulled off a table... but then you can easily pull it off with a USB connector.)

Sneakers: it's panic when my dog escapes, cause i have an underground fence, and she can't get back in if she breaks out..at least Rocky stayed close..i bet you were surprised when he turned up on the opposite side of the door-lol..me thinks Tiger has found his resting place-your chest..i didn't realize he was only 6 weeks old-i bet he IS quick ; )

She is in between a size small and medium poor baby its getting cold outside it was only 58 degrees here and the only thing that kept me warm was burning all thos cut up branches. Hmm toasty! Hey sneakers tiger sounds like a little snuggle puss lol. May you all have a great Wednesday!:)

Rocky got out (thanks but no thanks, BFF!) and then started scratching at the door. I thought for a bit he was wanting to go out but it turned out he was out and wanted back in!

Tiger spent most of the afternoon nestled on my chest, but when I moved back over to recharge the laptop Tiger stayed where he was. He usually starts meowing when I'm not around, but he's made no effort to come over here.

Tiger moves around faster than anything else in the apartment, even at six weeks old!

Hi 10k, sneakers, and you too penske, man the day started out beautiful but it became ugly fast. Rain and cold two of my least favorite types of weather. Well the race is on to get the fall chores finished and get the doors and windows batton'd down! We had to order little Haley a new one piece snow suit, she has been eating really good, and she has grown quite a bit, from a small to a small medium. She says mrf to all her little buddies on this page. She is now 5.2 pounds not bad from 3.2, but she is working on her bark. Well I hope that you all have a wonderful week and that you all have fun with your babies! Our little hunter needs to go out, she's alert and ready to go! LOL

That's where I am now. Tiger was on my lap but I got up to go to the bathroom. Tiger has been wandering all over the apartment since then. Tiger just returned to his Daddy's lap and something is making him sneeze.

>i guess you're gonna hafta watch where you set the Diet Dr. Pepper ; )

Not sure how good Diet Dr (no period) Pepper is for a kitten but it was hydration. I last saw Tiger headed for Rocky's water bowl.

>my mom drinks Diet Dr. Pepper also..

I"ve been hitting it too much lately, getting tired of it. The last pop I had was Diet Coke, before that I had a Diet Cherry Dr Pepper, a Diet 7up, and a single-serve bottle of OJ. I like PIbb Zero, but you can get all the above at any convenience store while Pibb Zero is only available at supermarkets. Pibb Zero has the reputation of being a Dr Pepper clone, but it is not. Pibb Zero has a potent cinnamon and cherry kick to it.

My BFF commented that I could name the kitty. I decided on Tiger, although the only part of Tiger that looks like a tiger is his tail. I wonder if the fact I was wearing a University of Missouri shirt had anything to do it.

Hi every buddy!

Driver - if you see this, check you whiteboard. I left you some suggestions. Laser pointers. I never saw a cat that didn't like that, or a flash light.

Sneakers- I'm impressed- a kitty! And just a little guy too. Rocky will get to like lucky. Lots of dogs I know adore their feline friends.

Hey there DJ, Haley, 10k, and magpie. Sounds like. everyone is doing pretty good, have a great week. Hopefully this awesome weather will continue!

Got a new four-legged creature around here. I"m in the recliner reclined, and Lucky the cat is lying on my rotund abdomen. Lucky is six weeks old. Rocky is not sure what to think about Lucky. Rocky was backing up, believe it or not!

Lucky must have been thirsty, because a little while ago he stuck his little nose in a glass full of melted ice and Diet Dr Pepper and started lapping it up.

Hi 10K little haley likes mushrooms raw or cooked especially the more expensive ones ha ha next she'll be asking for salads with her dog food. he weather was really warm today and the sun was shinning and hot for sure! Welcome Driver have you tried a new toy with some cat nip? They love that stuff and it definitely perks them up! Haley wants to go hunting again you know she has her favorite spot right off the back porch. Two acres of land and she stays right by the house, the little hunter likes to be close to home! I hope you all enjoy the weekend all the 2's and 4's!:)

Hi everybody! I have an older pet cat that I got as a stray. It seems like she just loves to sleep and eat and get petted. Sometimes she'll go out to the backyard for 5 min. I have string type toys but she seems to get bored quickly now. I wish I could think of something to get her moving around more. Any ideas anyone? I think I'll go hug my Ginger girl now.

Isn't it funny the things our pets like to eat, this year we had to put up chicken wire to keep little Haley from eating the tomatoes, she also loves green peppers, and avocados. Cantaloupe is always good maybe they are just really good eaters like us ha ha. I wanted to say that Haley says murf to all and I hope you all have a great thursday!

Gusthecat - you've visited before haven't you! Or are little you one of my buddies? I know I know the name. Hey, well welcfome anyways!

Sneakers -- I guess it's just a Yankee thing. To me, you just described a humane trap. I know exactly what that is. My dad used them too to keep wood chucks out of his vegetable garden.

Another Yankee thing, 10k - Pine straw? You mean needles? That fell off the branches?

Howdy Rick! Long time no see! I should talk - I have been on and off of here too lately.

Magpie - Always good to hear what nice things you're doing for family. And good to hear that Haley helps too!

Rayman - I didn't forget you! My 'Q' (Quincy) loves cantaloupe too. He also likes mandarin orange, broccoli, peas, and green beans! Strange cat I know! I did want to let you know that dairy products are actually not good to give to cats as they are all lactose intolerant believe it or not. They love dairy products but they are actually not good for them. So in moderation, but don't feed it to them all the time. But thanks for stopping in and telling us about your cat, Garfield!

Chex is off to the vet tomorrow for bloodwork for his dental appointment in October. He's having his teeth cleaned. Hopefully it will help his breath!

Good night to all my two and four legged friends!

HI Gang! Hope everyone is well. Jennie has been feeling sooo much better the last few days. She says "arf to all our 2 and 4 legged buddies! and "arf, arf, arf arf" (thanks for the prayers) We switched her to a dry food. She's eating much better!

Sounds like everyone has been busy, either traveling/vacationing, or working on outside stuff. Me, its been the latter! Starting to get things ready for the season that follows this one! Don't want to mention it just yet! lol

The weather the last couple days has been sensational! low to mid 70's and not a cloud in the sky! We could just go straight to spring after fall as far as I'm concerned!

Hope everyone has a good week! Take care!!

Sneakers: i dunno if you ever check out the Astros, but Jose Altuve is having a season to remember, stealing bases (legally), and with his batting average..i think he would be worth the price of admission..

magpie: i can understand wanting some flowers and color to come home to-i'm the same way, but til DJ calms down, newly planted flowers wouldn't have a chance in my yard..two acres is a pretty good sized yard..i think the only diffy in my mom's house and yard is that my mom doesn't have stairs to climb..her yard is at least 1.5 acres too, if not larger..she loves flowers slso, and usually has tomatoes, but this year she didn't mess with them..

penske: yup, DJ is still h*ll on wheels-if she's anything like Duke was, i will have several more years before she calms down..we are sandwiched between Virginia and South Carolina, two states that don't mind lower gas prices-much lower than North Carolina's..good luck with all your outdoor stuff-i'm still trying to catch up from my eye probs..i got decks that need all the pine straw cleared off them, before the new pine straw starts falling next month..too much too do-sighhhhh..

have a great Tuesday 2s and 4s..

A live trap is a a metal mesh box where the animal you want to trap can get in but can't get out. It doesn't injure the animal, it's intended for a "catch and release elsewhere" critter management plan. The raccoon was right up against the apartment complex's dog park.

And it was actually my BFF's BF (and Rocky) who found the raccoon just sitting there caught in this metal mesh box.

Hello to all my 2 and 4 legged friends you all sound happy! Penske so glad to hear that your trip was great and went off without a hitch. I bet Q and Chex were so glad you were back! Nothing better then your pet letting you know that you were missed! 10k it is a little bit of work but no one has really done very much here on my mothers property and I wanted to make mom smile she really missing my father. Besides if any one is looking at the house the first thing they do is look on the outside to see how much needs to be finished. We would like to sell its just too much for us to care for! At least when we come home we looked at the property and its just very homey and loved looking. But a little over 2 acres is just a bit much and the stairs are getting harder. So we will look for a ranch styled home and probable do the same thing we have here. Flowers make a home even prettier, and a small vegetable garden in back is just the bomb for us! Rocky stand your ground buddy lol, that had to be funny at first! Stay well my friends and have a good evening!

My magpie - you were busy with that landscaping. I have windows that need to be washed and the mere thought of it exhausts me. Tons of flowers to be cut, bagged and tossed. I am tired from my vacation. I don't know when everything will ever get done. Good for you! I've seen when dogs sit down like you described and agree that's very funny to see!

10k - we left on the 20th, and I agree gas is much cheaper in Virginia. The lowest we paid was 2.949. How's DJ doing? Still hell on wheels? Hopefully she's settling down for you some.

Sneakers - I take it you found a live raccoon in a trap? Not sure what a live trap would be.

Q and Chex are good. Very happy to sleep with their mom last night!

magpie: that sounds like lotza work..i'm sure there will be a great show next spring..since it's not as cold down here, i usually wait til late November before i start spring planting, but with an active gopher-DJ, ain't gonna be nuttin' planted here this year..i can only imagine the fun Haley had ripping into that fresh ground-lol..yup, we are indeed lucky to have our little ones in our lives, and vise versa..

Hello to all you 2 and 4 legged friends! I hope you all had a great day, put up the landscaping lumbar on the east side of mom's house and have been filling it up with top-soil and manure and peat! The hard part was drilling a hole on each end and putting it in with a rye bar then I drilled the top piece of lumber halfway and put that over the rye bar hanging out at the top. It looks more complete and holds the lumber in place, then mixing all the dirt up with a lot of peat and manure. Now I can start putting in new bulbs and hosta's and flowering plants and wait for next spring. A couple more days and it will be finished, little Haley dug her share of holes today is soundly sleeping poor baby worked hard today snicker snicker! Wow for about 5 minutes she was really kicking up the dirt, got a little pooped so she dug herself a hole and put her hind end in it and leaned back like she was on a lawn chair and rested too funny! Hi 10k yep she still is trying but her bark comes out like murf like her dog slips it is funny haha! Hope this finds your DJ is doing well we are so lucky too be able too share our lives with such wonderful little buddies! God Bless you all catch ya later!

My BFF's BF took Rocky out for a walk to the dog park yesterday. They came upon a raccoon in a live trap. Rocky got close, then he backed up and started barking! I've got a video of it, but I'm not sure I want to put it out on the Internet.

A very big thank you to all who were well wishers for my Mom. It was so good to hear from the doctor as well as from you 10k. Our prayers are with you for sure and a woof to DJ from Haley or it still sounds like a murf to me but she is really trying. She let the red squirrel have it in the back yard this morning and it almost sounded like an arf was in there to me! The morning has started out here kind of grey and with light rain but the sun just peeked out. Maybe it will be a nice day like they said, no matter what its still a good day. My best to you all 2's and 4's!

gotta be short tonight-running late and very sleepy ;(

magpie: great news on your mom's eye-i know about those lines, and any time you gain 2 lines, that's pretty good..i would say it was definitely a win-win for her..10 year old Deere's ain't that bad, but a 10 year old belt has definitely done it's job, and needs replacing..concerning my eyes, the wavy lines in the affected eye do not seem as pronounced now as they were, but the doc said we still had a long ways to go..

penske: it's always bad news when a vaca is coming to a close ;(
were you still in NC ??..Charlotte has had some nice weather, and we have too, for the most part..hope y'all have a nice trip back home..i'm sure you already know this, but if you're in NC, don't buy any more gas than necessary-wait til you get into Virginia, cause their gas is much cheaper than ours..lol on the ice cubes in Q's and Chex' water..

have a great Saturday 2s & 4s..

Hello to all my and legged friends, Well this morning we went to mom's eye specialist and spent 3 hours testing diagnosing, but it was worth it its been 2years since mom had her cornea transplant and finally we have good news. She has gained two lines in her sight back the cornea is holding and it (the dr. said) looks wonderful. It was a reason to dance even if it was just in your head! So it was a win win as far as we are concerned! May you all be blessed in some way or another we are truly lucky! Any ways good to hear penske so glad to hear that you hare having a great trip, so many things to see and the food and people are wonderful! We have not heard about the lawn mower yet but after the news we have had who cares. Its a belt that we know for sure and we have had this J-deere for 10 years with no problems so we can't complain or could we nah! 10k be patient with your eye problem and please have faith it took mom this long and today it paid off! We will keep you in our prayers! Realtorick we are keeping jennie in our prayers too I do so hope that the medicine she is on will kick in it might take a while for her to adjust! Stay healthy my 2 and 4 legged buddies keep your chin up and know that you have a friend!

Hello my 2 and 4 legged friends! Our vaca is coming to an end. We had a very nice, peaceful time. Great weather and warm temps! We'll drive through most of Virginia tomorrow, and get home Sunday early afternoon.

Q and Chex get ice cubes in their water too. They are unphased by them. I'm sure to them, it's just an inconvenience. Some big thing taking up space in their water.

howdy magpie:

good luck to your mom ; ) i bet Haley doesn't mind that extra hunting territory..anytime anything breaks on a mower, it's not fun, or cheap..maybe i'm lucky that DJ just barks at her ice cubes-lol..i bet it's a sight to see when Haley and the ice square off against each other..

i'm a little disappointed with my eye report, but if it had been really bad, that sweet young thang surgeon wouldn't have given me a 4 month break, and i don't think she woulda told me i could have that cataract removed either..

have a great Friday 2s & 4s..

Well friday is the day that mom see's her eye specialist so we will see. The bad news is little Haley has to do her great big hunting in more that her usual 2 inchs of grass the belt broke on the tractor from the crank shaft and is in for repairs. 10k I like the ice-cube trick we do the same thing to cool the water for Haley. Only problem we have is that she dances in the water bowl, she runs up and hits the ice cube with her paw and pretty soon she is slapping with both paws snicker it looks like she is doing her happy dance. They are so comical aren't they? Sorry to hear about the eye report have faith it will get better. Penske it sounds like your having a great time keep it up! Thank you realtorick for your kind words we do appreciate them. Well I have to run but our prayers are with you all have a great thurs!:)

howdy all..

tonight i had some fun at DJ's expense-hehe..i put a few ice cubes in her water bowl so her water would be cooler..she looked at it, eased up on it, barked at it, then tried to grab an ice cube..when that failed, and it splashed, she backed up and barked at it again..later when she eased up on her bowl, the ice had melted, and she just looked and looked-too funny..

no rain today-wow..with all the rain we've have lately, the fire ants are getting a nice foothold at the storage place-time to make a move on 'em..

have a great Thursday 2s and 4s..

howdy rick, penske..

rick: my eyeballs were absolutely focused-mebbe she is the prob-hehehe..good luck with your good lookin' eyeball doc also..it's kinda strange that she said my report wasn't as good as she would like, but 2 months ago both eyes had a reading of 21, and this time the left eye was 21, but the right eye was 20..and strange that she scheduled my next appointment for four months-January, mind you, and told me i could have that cataract removed now-hmmmm..i know exactly the road you are on with Jennie..i went down that same road with Duke, but he eventually got used to the change..i'm sure in time Jennie will show her affection again ; )
it's good that she ate today, and kept it down..i dunno who is in charge of these hurricane names, but i liked it better in the old days when they were all female names, and all names we could spell..we are gonna get some nice breakers from that Hurricane, but that's all..the surferdudes on the southern OBX should love it..

penske: rain eh ??..today there was 0% chance of rain, so what happens ?? KA-BOOM !!!-a mean line of t-boomers moved through just south of us..we got a little bit of rain, but not much, but there was a nice sound and light show..today was s'posed to be our warmest day of the week-83°..we will be in the 70s in a day or so..don't y'all love those rescue ranches ; ) so the mods musta told you that you could get your stripes back one more time ??..meow ; ) oh yeah, didja have fun in NC ??..

have a great Wednesday 2s & 4s..

Ok, it rained. Actually there was more lightening than anything. But the weather has been really nice. Today it was hot, at 84 degrees. The rest of the week, mid 70's, and no more rain. Today we went to an animal rescue that is owned and operated by Ryan Newman ( Nascar driver for Richard Childress Racing ) and his wife Krissie, and a lot of volunteers. The Rescue Ranch. I had goats eating out of my hand, literally! I fed the fainting goats. We gave them a lot of supplies, and they gave us a tour. We really enjoyed it, we'll return on future trips.

Got my stripes back, for the final time. Woof woof every buddy, pets, and friends! Missing my kitty babies. We'll probably go to Petco tomorrow to see the kitties!

HI Every buddy! Hope you're all having a good week! Have a good time Penske! nice to get away once in awhile.

Sorry the report wasn't as good as you hoped 10k. I'm sure your eyeballs focused just fine when that sweet thang was workin on you! I go see my good lookin eye doc on the 26th! lol

Prayers that your Mom's eye report is a good one magpie! and murf back at ya Haley! Jennie just says "arf"

Thanks for the prayers everyone. Jennie seems up and down. She ate really well and was real active last weekend, then Monday, she vomited 3 times, and just didn't feel good. Today she seems to be doing ok. She's not eating as well, but she did eat some and it has stayed down. She doesn't like me to much anymore, cause I stopped giving her treats. She doesn't understand why! But she knows we love her, and I keep telling her its for her own good!

Man, who comes up with the names of these huricanes 10k?? it's actually spelled Edouard, but I sure don't know how to pronounce it!

Have a great evening pets and pet lovers!!

magpie: my eyeball report was not as good today as it was two months ago, but apparently my sweet young thang eye surgeon is not too concerned, cause she told me i was free for four months..she said it was hard to believe that's only been 4.5 months since she did the surgery-and i agreed..she also said my eye had healed enough to schedule cataract surgery whenever i wanted to do it..if only i had the loot-sighhh..good luck to your mom-hope her news will be great also..penske is lucky-she is on the dry side of NC-we got more rain early this morning..you got time to teach Haley how to use a shovel ??-lol..Hurricane Edouad (sp) is going head out to sea and miss us by a "not even close" margin ; )

have a great Tuesday 2s & 4s..

howdy penske, magpie..

penske: be glad you are on the western side of NC, cause here in the east central part (I-95 area), it's been monsooning..i got rained off my lawn mower yesterday..today it was just mostly cloudy and cool though..enjoy that necessary vacation in the Charlotte area, and spend loot-this state needs the dollars ; ) i agree with you about the stripes-there have been many days that i asked myself why was i doing this-what purpose did it serve ??..only vanity, i guess..

magpie: happy "murf" back to Haley ; ) i never thought of contacting the dog food company that made the special diet Duke was on..dang woman, where were you ??-lol..jk ; )

tomorrow (Monday) i will go back to my sweet young thang eyeball surgeon for my 2 month checkup..i ain't so sure 'bout my eyesight this time, but she did say my vision would change several times-and i think it has..

have a great Monday 2s & 4s..

Hello to all the 2's and four's, Haley says murf she still does not bark its like she tries and then comes out this murfing sound with a butt wiggle. I hope this finds you all well and happy, you think some one would come up with a less expensive food for both of our furry little friends hey penske and realtorick have you kids tried e-mailing the company that makes these special foods and see if you can buy directly from them maybe it can save a few nickels. I know when our min pin was alive she had colitis and we use to order from science diet it did help with the cost and they would even send us coupons that were a great help. My best to all of you have a great night!:)

Poor Jeannie! I hope she starts to feel better soon. Quincy's' prescription diet food costs a lot of money too. He needs the urinary type so he doesn't get stones.

Sorry for our absence. We are on vacation now, in North Carolina on the west side of the state. No rain here at all. Wonderful weather. I had gotten my stripes back, then lost them a week later. I'm fine with not having them, I still have a nice new sports car. It's not worth the stress to make sure in a day that I posted on here. The app doesn't work on my phone, so now I have to post my prices once I get in to work. I often walk in to a chaotic mess in the morning. I guess I forgot to post one day.

The boys are home with their Aunt Lori and Uncle Troy. They are friends of ours, but not actually our relatives. But everyone calls them that, and us too.

I'll try to post more regularly. Recently work has left me exhausted. This vacation was very necessary.
