I saw something the other day where a family was having an end of the world party instead of celebrating Christmas. Anyone else joining that crazy fun? All joking aside - what are your thoughts on the Mayan's prediction?

I don't believe it is going to happen, but hey, why not? It is as good reason for a party as any. Lets all get drunk, have a lot of fun, and for a moment forget about tomorrow. Then, pay the price tomorrow.

Not buying into it, No one knows when the end will be. So we keep on doing what we always do.

I think the Mayan prediction is every bit as accurate as the Mormon predictions or the Seventh-Day Adventist predictions. At least the Mormons and the Seventh-Day Adventists are still around to see their predicted dates come and go. The Mayans are not.

I don't think 12/21 is the end of the world, it is the end of the Mayan Calendar. See here

It'll end when it ends.

It was never intended for us to know exactly when the end would come. You should live your life as if this is your last day.

Some nincompoops will use any opportunity to get drunk and there will always be some hairball predicting the end of time until well, the end of time...

I don't believe it. The Bible says that no one knows the day or the hour, so when someone tries to claim that they know, that's the 1st sign that they are wrong.

The end of the world for the Mayan civilization came well before the end of their calendar. Secondly, trying to predict the end of the world from the Mayan calendar is akin to assuming the world will end in 2013 because you can't yet buy a 2014 calendar.
