Pull up a chair, snap your fingers, "double latte" and lets hear whats on your mind. Gripes, comments, compliments, complaints, ideas? Lets get them out in the open and see if we can relate, have some fun, come to conclusions maybe, who knows.

Good Afternoon Folks !

"National Nut Day" ... It's a little kooky and crazy if you ask me but everybuddy loves a nut, the whole world loves a weirdo....

A couple of nutty facts:
Peanuts are not really nuts. They are Legumes, a member of the "Pea" family.
The center of seeds, like pumpkins and squash, is called a "nut".

Some Happy Hour snacks and wine please, Bunny.

Good Morning,

Yes, the doctor had a new therapy which involves three different nose sprays. Seems to be working. If this does not work, there is another therapy with the spray and some type of steroid medication. After that, surgery may be required.

Weather turned wet again.

Long church meeting as we do interviews for a job opening. At least we get lunch.

Coffee to go.

Good morning mnjr, and everybuddy else coming in for Hump Day! Puka's appt went well yesterday. Eye looks good, but healing slowly, but that is kind of expected with pugs. Another followup appt in a week. If divot not completely healed, then we see an opthamologist. But, it is looking good now. Group ride tonite. Only 2 left. Can't start rides after dark at this trail.

Sid, so very true. Or, even behind her desk at work...

mnjr, congratulations!! We had waders. Middle brother got a little too deep, and let water in...

Have a GREAT day everybuddy!

CGrover, who knows where go4 is hiding -- she could be anywhere in the Caribbean, Hawaii, Tahiti, etc.

She's 'jet set' just like MrGasGuy... He flies all over the place except for Michigan.

Some Gas Buddy he turned out to be...*sniff*..

Good morning. Great weekend. Rode up north with middle brother and helped eldest brother take out dock, boat, and boat lift at the cabin that is now his that was our grandparents growing up. I haven't been up there in about 25 years. Then we rode the Cuyuna mtn bike trails built in the old mining area. Sunday morning we went on a family cruise on the boat from Treasure Island Casino, where my mom won an auction item at the ADA GALA. It was a great day, and she even drove the boat. Then, on the way home, MrsCG saw some friends were having a gathering for football, and we went there. Luckily, we got there just at the Vikings game ended. Otherwise it is pretty loud there.

sout, good luck to your wife today! Sounds like a good trip also.

mnjr, dang, missed it. And I was looking at the stars at 5:32 am while getting ready to head out on my bicycle. Enjoy the new road! Interesting plan.

Sid, who knows?

Have a GREAT day everybuddy!

Good Morning,

Mnjrfan, sounds like it was a complete makeover for your street. Glad it is almost done. Ours was suppose to be a one inch overlay of asphalt. However, the contractor seems to not know how to lay asphalt for a cul de sac. This will be the third try. A white pickup came by just as dawn was breaking. Not sure if it is someone from the contractor or someone looking for a garage sale. Not sure how it is in Minnosota, but in Texas, all construction companies, oil field companies and city workers drive white pickups.

Today is the day the Mrs. goes to the allergist. Praying he can do something positive.

Coffee and donuts please.

Good morning everyone!

The Orionid meteor shower is happening this morning, in fact right now! Peak times should be from 05:00 - 07:00 in the eastern sky. Enjoy!

Splinter, thanks! The good thing is that the work being done now is the fixing and/or repairing of the stuff that was dug up and discarded off to the side of everyone's yard. It's beginning to take shape, so-too-speak. They laid asphalt on my driveway yesterday afternoon and filled in behind the curbs. I expect they'll be putting down the black dirt sitting out front on the street, and laying the sod I see on pallets down the block, soon enough! It's all down hill now!

Have a great day all! Later

Good Morning,
Trip to the beach went well. Act at a nice restaurant, then she shopped at a couple of stores including a new art shop out there. I just sat on a bench and watched the scenery.

One more day before we see the allergist. Cannot get here soon enough.

Coffee on the patio. Breakfast tacos for everyone.

Good morning all!

soutxed, yep, this project has been on going all summer since mid June. Started out with CenterPoint upgrading the entire gas main system around here. That was interesting watching how they bury pipe and all. Then came the landscape renovation to repair what CenterPoint did. Then the streets, driveways and sidewalks were dug up, trees within 5-10 feet of the street dropped, sewer system dug out, replaced and upgraded, curbs put in, class 5 put down, then the first layer of asphalt, and now the driveways are being formed and cement and asphalt being replaced. On and on and on and on.

The beepers on the back of every piece of motorized equipment out there is driving me whacky!! And all this goes on from approx 07:00 - 19:00, 6 days a week!

Yep, complete do-over!

Hope you get relief from the allergies today!

Have a great day all! Later

Good Morning,

Headed to the beach today as the weather has turned warm. May or may not go into the water, but at least listen to the waves and soak some sun. Yes we have sunscreen. Hoping it will help the allergies.

Breakfast blend to go.

Good early morning,

Could not sleep last night so up early.

Plan to mow the lawn again. Then take the wife (if she up to it) to the mall.
Plans to attend an out door concert tonight is off as the pollen and mold count is high today/

Mnjrfan, sounds like a complete do over for your street. I have never heard of those horseshoe drainage things. Well good luck. Inspectors were out yesterday digging small holes to see what the base is like. I see another paving job, more dust, more inconvenience.

Coffee to go.

Just an update to my previous post.

Here's a link with an explanation of what the city calls 'Rain Gardens'. I called them drainage areas. I got curious to what they're design for again.

Good morning!

soutxed, the first layer of asphalt is down. There appears to be several more to be put down before the streets are level to the curbs. Yesterday they dumped two semi loads of black dirt in front of my house. There's several feet or more behind the curbs that need landscaping work, and they're installing several of these (approx) 10x10 ft horseshoe looking street drainage areas intermittently up and down the block. Luckily, I don't get one! At each of these street drainage locations, the owner of the lot (I've heard) is required to maintain them. These drainage area's have different landscaping designs, but as one of the crew told me, they're mostly a pain and considered nothing more than garbage collectors. Maybe someone can explain the theory of these drainage spots, because they're not connected to the storm sewer system. I imagine they simply assist the main sewer system. Like I said, thankfully I didn't get one!

Glad to hear your wife's doing better!

CG, after all the yard work (and dust) yesterday, I let the girls out this morning and it looks like I did nada! Depressing, but so be it! Two young Maples are now bare. The three big boys and the Birch to go. Plus that Birch and other thing in the neighbors yard next to my fence! Part of the game!

Have a safe weekend everyBUDDY! Later

Good Morning,

Mnjrfan, is your street done and done correctly? Hope so. No one should have to have a street done three times.

Wife had a better day yesterday, but took it easy.

Weather is warming up, so not fall here, yet. More rain expected next week.

Football Friday. Hopefully a good game tonight. Makes it go faster.

Good morning Handi, mnjr, and everybuddy else coming in today. Had a great 2 lap ride with the eldest bro yesterday. Rode the tree, and rode a 4x4 skinny that I haven't ever made before. Truck wouldn't start, so the mrs picked me up. First time it wouldn't start when cold. I will stop off there today on my commute home, and if starts drive home. If not, call AAA for a tow home. Free 5 mile tow, and home is about 8 miles. Heading up north to eldest's cabin, with other bro, and removing his dock and boat list. Temps scheduled for a high of 45°. Gonna be chilly in the water, even with waders on. Then we are going riding at Cuyuna Off Road trails, and then back home. Glad I am not driving.

mn, thank goodness for clean paws! Well, so much for bagging for a long time.

sout, you are one day closer to Tuesday. Bummer about your street.

MrGG, our boss was out this week, and we forgot... Her boss was here, and I didn't notice any of her people's getting her anything...

wmsb, have fun at the show! Yes, Puka should recover. They worry about the divot getting infected. He was doing fine at his appt yesterday. But, in his notes it does say he is squirmy. He gets to go in on Tuesday for another look. He seems to be fine, and back to his wild, bouncy, playful, happy self.

Have a GREAT day and weekend everybuddy!

Good morning everyone!

Yesterday the leaves began their descent in earnest later in the afternoon. Overnight we've had a steady breeze of 5-6 mph, with gusts to 27 mph, which has stripped one of my backyard maples naked! The birch is hanging tough though. The front yard younger maple has been stripped naked also, but the two big boys (maples also) are still green and will prolong my agony.

It's not that bad. I use my lawn tractor and bag 'em pretty quick!

wmsbgolfer, I prefer getting them bagged asap. It's a lot of work, but so be it. I'll get help Saturday from my s-i-l. We're going to use his truck, not mine, to pull out all the stumps from around the house.

Bosses day yesterday? That explains why the girls were so demanding! HA!

Be safe!

Have a great day everyone! Later

Heading to NJ in a few hours for a two day craft show on Saturday and Sunday.

Splinter, since we're almost always the first to tee off we average about 2:45 minutes a round.

CGRO, you riding this weekend? will Puka fully recover?

Handi, hoping you get better soon.

soutxed, hope the doctors visit goes well for your wife.

Good Morning

Another cool morning.

Wife had another attack last night while doing her therapy for the vertigo. She is scheduled to see an allergist Tuesday, which cannot come soon enough.

Mnjrfan, our street was finally done Tuesday afternoon, but an inspector with a special machine said it may not be packed down properly. A big truck came later and turned around leaving more divots. If we have to go through another tear up of the pavement and repaving, I may go to the next city council meeting and raise h***. If any government agency ever uses this contractor again, they should be impeached.

Off the soapbox and give me some coffee and donuts.

The first layer of asphalt was finally put down yesterday! Now we can go for our morning walks without getting our paws all muddy or full of sand!

soutxed - so sorry about your wife's vertigo. I can't imagine what that must feel like. And not being able to lay down to sleep?! Ugh. Glad she is feeling a little bit better.

CG - Heavenly Hump Day indeed! I would take an entire winter of this weather!!! Tomorrow the forecast high is 70°F! Sorry about Puka's eye injury.

golfer - I played more golf when our twins were babies. I think part of the issue is that a round of golf takes so long (5+ hours). Some of my friends have gotten into tennis lately too.

Good Morning,

Mrs feeling better, but still has to move slowly. On top of that, the street crew was out in full force and the noise of the machines really bothered her. Leaving was not an option. Just put it in the hands of God and we made it through.

Weather weather cooler as temps in the high 50's this morning.

Good morning mnjr, and everybuddy else coming in today. Heavenly Hump Day according to one local radio station, due to the weather. Almost 70°, sunny, and not much wind. Lawn mowed yesterday. fertilizer getting purchased tonite.

Puka found out yesterday he has an ulcer in his eye. We think that means an injury. You can see a divot on his eye. So, pain meds, an ointment to apply 3 times a day, and a return visit tomorrow. He is doing well, and was back to his normal self yesterday. He should have a cone on, but we can't find any of them in the house, and he doesn't seem to be touching it at all.

Handi, how are you today? Seemed kind of happy yesterday...

sout, good to hear you are feeling better, but so sorry to hear about your wife's situation.

mn, yesterday's wind didn't get many leaves off the trees?

Have a GREAT day everybuddy.
