having a busy but happy few weeks.

Posting from my iPhone is not something I care for. My eyes are not what they once were and I often have hit 'Ignore' instead of post.

Jonny and I are on our way up north to central Saskatchewan for a quad derby. This is his first derby but he is ready physically, as he is taller than me, and he is cautious so he will be safe.

After a weekend of mud, I will need some culture, so on Tuesday morning my wife and I are going to New York City!
It may seem ordinary for some of you, but it has been a dream of mine for years.
I got as close as Philadelphia about 15 years ago, and we were 4 days from a show in New York, with a night off the day before.
I had not had a very good relationship with the soundman from the headliner and he started the morning in Philly with a round of insults aimed at me and my small town Canada roots. I came back with a zinger that had the rest of the crew laughing at him.
An hour later my boss said I was going to Dallas the next morning and working the Texas State Fair, and not continuing on with the tour.
So I was fired from the tour, but didn't lose my job.
I got the last laugh as the soundguy got fired after the tour because he was an uppity a$$.

Well have a great weekend and I will text again from New York!!!

Good Night!

getting ready to build a new PC. All the parts showed up yesterday. I much prefer to build my own so I know what's "under the hood".

done with catching up with my yard work. Now sitting with the heating pad, but its all done! Will have the back looked at next Wednesday to see why it is now bothering me so much.

Glad to see others here, but not happy to see words like PAIN. Take care of that shoulder Treasurehunter!

Pard, a small generator to power the sump pump and the refrigerator might not be a bad idea. Then the only thing you have to do is start it.

Hoping Roadieboy is well!

So glad that everyone is OK :)

Many thanks Dick! I hope to one day post the big "V" here!

Pard, happy to hear that you have your power back! Hope you didn't have to do a lot of work w/that sump pump :o\

Take care, everyone :o)

glad to be back online, our power was knocked out from the severe storms on Sunday.
Been a very busy day, had to judge at a local fair.......

Targetsmom, you have impeccable taste in music!

Hope you are feeling better, dickc. You know, the worst part of a power outage here is that I usually have to bail the sump pump so the crawl space doesn't flood, I've had enough of floods. Have to decide on some sort of backup system, as I'm getting too old for this nonsense!!

feeling a bit lucky right now. A city about 5-7 miles south of me got hit by a Tornado this morning. The storm tracked right over us right after, but the Tornado was done. Whew! We look to have some more storms coming in later. I hope they are less severe!

a bit sore today, but I've been on my hands and knees over the last two days weeding my strawberry patch. It was really overgrown. Not quite done, but close! No more outside work today or tomorrow as the rains have come. We really needed them so its a good thing.

Glad to hear Outtacash's son is doing MUCH better! Yay! Take the victories when you can.

TM - How is Sandra doing? Is the infection getting under control?

I am noting Roadieboy has been away a while. Hope things are OK.

Hi Pard. Yup, got a bit burnt out a few years ago for just that reason. Know exactly how you feel.

feeling OK today!

Haven't been here in a week, was a busy one.
Glad to hear about Pard & CH :) Def relate to Pard's issue w/her daughter :\
Wish I had some Xanax. If it's not one thing, it's another.

Wish to thank all of you for your thoughts & prayers. Son is finally healing! Off the Wound Vac a/o July 15th. Nurse came today & it's looking so much better - the hole has closed :) Doc "says" about another 2-3 weeks!!

Dick, wishing you the best of luck looking for a job. It's a tough world out there and landing a job seems to be all about how well you 'talk the talk', not necessarily skills. Btw, I gave up watching & living "Family Feud".

Thinking & praying for all the caregivers here.

needing to go back to work, but have been out of work so long I am not sure how to approach this! I guess I need to just DO IT! My savings are running a bit low so I need to work before I am out. Do not want to touch retirement savings until I retire.

I too agree with Panj. The above makes me irritated.

feeling more refreshed today. Spent yesterday at my daughters across town for the grand sons third birthday party. The kid has more toys than Toys R Us now.

Oh Pard, I do hope life settles in a little for you. Does not sound like fun.

Panj, I also hope it settles for you too.

TM - That airplane shoot down is inexcusable. Russia and Putin need to wake up before they kill more innocent people. So Sad.

anxious also, ElHubdud has so many medical issues, and there is also some family discord, and so I thank goodness for Xanax. Only take one when it's really needed, so a scrip last me a long time. But when I'm at the end of my rope, it helps so much. I am the one everyone comes to with their problems, and it wears me out.

enjoying a quiet morning at home.

Our foster daughter is at a summer camp for a week in Alberta, and Jonny has gone to Nova Scotia to visit his aunt and uncle (my wife's sister).

He should have a blast because his uncle is an officer in the Coast Guard and he is going to take him out on a Zodiac inflatable boat, that they use for search and rescue, and of course he will go on CCGS Terry Fox .

Yes TM I hope some rain comes your way, or to the interior and the north of BC.
The smoke from some NWT fires has made its way down here and there was an air advisory, something we almost never get in Regina.

I guess the only thing worse than a 'scope' surgery is what ever they did before scopes were invented.
Either way it is not something I want to try, EVER!

Time for another coffee, have a great day everyone.

Pard, no worries w/the memory bank here I'll remember :)

Gizella, that is tooo funny! Thank you!! :)

Dick, good idea to have it checked out again before permanent damage is done :o\

Was a very nice 73° today. Supposed to rain most of tomorrow, sure wish I could send it up to BC where it's desperately needed.

Wishing you all a good Saturday :)

thinking we could have shared some of our 1.8 inches the other day. We are a bit on the dry side here, but not that bad. Finally drying out enough today to do a little yard maintenance. Need to weed the garden before they take over. They are not bad now. Also have a few other little chores to get to.

TM - Praying for some rain for you guys. Hopefully without T-Storms so noting gets "lit".

sitting and watching it rain. We needed the water. Looks like we missed a lot of what New England got, but we also missed the flooding some got. Mostly just urban street flooding and some of the storms downed trees. Will check the rain gauge later to see what we did get. Free lawn water is always welcome.

Pard - I hate the "scope" surgery. Too the doc a while, and I have one area that still bothers me from time to time. I had badly torn the rotator cuff. While they fix that, they also fix the upper bicep tendon. That still bothers me. I think there is scar tissue that is bothering the tendon sheath giving me close to permanent tendonitis. I guess I should contact the doc and have him look it over again. Its been three years. The rotator part seems fine though. Had the other one done the year prior and it is OK. Of course the second one was "shredded" according to the doc.

Hope others are having a good day.
