happy TGM got her turkey! Yup, I love turkey and stuffing sandwiches too!

Glad to hear EH is doing better. While it helps Pard's stress level, I am sure it still leaves you tired!

Outtacash - Hope Mason is being a good boy and leaving his tail alone!

It is Thanksgiving weekend in Canada , and this is the first year in many that I will not be cooking a turkey.

home alone. Everyone else is out at the Topsfield Fair. I grew up in Topsfield, so I have less of a need to go..... Plus I am still not able to be on my feet for long periods of time.

Outtacash - Glad Mason is growing more fur. Sorry for your losses to your wedding party. Hope those stones come easily so he decides to get the hernia done soon.

Pard - Read elsewhere about EH. Hope he is back on track and getting a few more steps in at the handrails.

reelin' in the years...

No idea what made me think of that LOL.

Thanks Dick, only thing diff is Mason's backside is healing, see fur growing back! Tail is taking much longer; giving him Omega-Gold w/Salmon Oil and spraying it w/Antiseptic Deterrent Spray. Seems to be working, slowly. I messed up the other night & forgot to spray before going to bed; woke up to a God awful site as he chomped on it during the night :(
Hope you start feeling better soon :) Lost my Matron of Honor (and best friend since 2nd grade) to cancer 2 years ago; her hubby & an Usher was killed in a horrible accident 8 years ago. My sincere condolences to you.

TM, so happy for Sandra!! I'm sure it's a big relief for you both to finally get it done.

Pard, need some company sharing that Brandy Alexander?! It's only a 3 hour drive (lol), and have driven farther than that on a Great "getaway"!

Hope everybuddy else is doing well :)

PS - Hubby is getting a kidney stone/s removed; won't get the hernia done :\

am feeling rather low this morning. Read in the local paper that one of my users from my wedding has lost his wife to cancer. She was only 59. Have now lost one usher and his wife, and the other two ushers have both lost their wives. Feeling a bit like a jinx today and quite sad. All these guys were great guys who did not deserve any of this. At least the best man, and all the females in the wedding party are doing OK.

Glad to hear Sandra is home. Hoping her recovery is rapid and she is soon on her feet.

doing OK, not great, but OK. Still having some slight issues with the left side IS joint as well as the back. Get the shot for the low back in a week and one half. Did not walk yesterday as I mowed the lawn. First time since August the whole thing has needed mowing.

just home from a somewhat brisk one mile walk. A week ago that would not have been possible. With the SI joint injection, and the results, it would appear that I not only have a lower back issue, but also an SI joint issue. The good news is that the injection has made most of the pain I experience walking stop. Now in about 2 1/2 weeks, I get the one for the low back issues. If that works just as well........

THIS is a good article on the SI joint issue.

Pard - You and EH continue in my prayers and I do hope that progress comes soon. My son made little progress from his head injury for a bit more than three months then....WOW.

telling dickc that having EH walk out of there is one of the goals, but when I was there today, that goal sure seems one long way off.

Thank you, everyone, for your continues prayers. I am praying for all of you, too.

just checking in to say that nothing has changed. But I don't want to talk about that, I want to say how much I've enjoyed the string of positively gorgeous late September days we've had this past week. Unparalleled.

Canned 14 jars of salsa today, and that, including the various jams, and the 2 batches of 14-day crock pickles I put up, rounds out my canning for this year. Unless I think of anything else I want to do!

sorry to hear that Outtacash's son is still not "whole". I do hope they get the sores to close up and stay closed soon.

I am doing OK today considering I had to fix my dehumidifier yesterday and mop up the floor, took a 50 mile drive to do some shopping (and look at the sights). While shopping I got a couple of heavy items. Came home a bit sore, but all considering, I could have been much worse. Will try another walk tonight. Was too sore last night to want to. It probably would have been good for me however.

Roadieboy - try some warmth on that elbow to loosen up the tendons before doing anything. Ice it after use. That will help. Tendonitis is an irritation of the tendon sleeve and tendon itself. It results in some swelling, and then some minute fibers from the tendon drag as it moves through the sheath. This is what was explained to me by my orthopedic guy a few years ago. Heat relaxes tendons, ice reduces inflammation. Relax it before use, and ice after to prevent a flare up of inflammation. Yes, a PITA to remember to do, but it does work. Heating pads are not that much, and a few large Zip-locks with some wet hand towels inside make great ice pads.

Hope Pard, CH, TargetsMom and others are doing OK.

ready for my urn :o\

Son is stilll not healed :( They keep saying 'another week or so'. Well, found out Tuesday that another tiny hole developed, just when the only one left was almost closed. HHC is back to coming daily.
Mason is stilll not healed either :( Dick, he had TWO cones before when he ripped all the fur offa his tail. He destroyed both of them...
Hubby finally decided to have a hernia operation, something he should have had done many years ago.

I should be drinkin' margaritas tonite but taking meds for the migraine I went to bed w/last night.

Dick & Roadieboy, hope you both start feeling better soon. Sounds like we're all falling apart, still...

still not feeling any better, or so it seems. I will try taking a walk later today and see how that goes. I am hoping I find I can walk a bit farther than before. I am also going to take a bit of a drive this weekend. Driving has even become a bit uncomfortable, so I am going to see if it is any better this weekend. If I get no relief from this particular shot, then the issue is fully confined to my back. Not sure if that is good or bad. No one seems to be able to tell me.

Roadieboy. Try to let that arm rest whenever possible. Try looking up what exercises will strengthen it on the web. Once it feels a bit better, see if you can do some. If they are recommending exercise machines, just think logically as to what motion and resistance the exercise is trying to promote and then find something at home that does the same. You do not need a gym or anything fancy. Just some common sense. That I know you have!

I am wondering how Sandra is doing, and also how Outtacash's son is doing.

at work.

The strange thing about my forearm/elbow pain is the narcotic pain killers barely put a dent in the pain.

Yes Dick, the solution for doctors is, 'stay off your feet for a week' or 'don't lift anything for a few days'.
I wish it was that easy.
I have a bunch of very understanding bosses and supervisors, but there has to be a limit. Fortunately I can go a week or so without lifting, or having to use two hands.

I had this about 11 years ago when we put up our 'new' fence. I guess I can't call it new anymore, but I do.
Back then it lasted for a year, crap!

Well goodnight everyone.
