thanking Gizella for her comforting emails after my husband passed away. I will also send that to my son's girlfriend, whose mother passed away today, she will need the Griefshare emails, for sure.
Thank you again, so much. :-)

can't believe I fell asleep last night with the TV on, the computer not shut down, and the lights on! Guess I WAS tired. Good to be home but I miss my kiddoes. I had a great time, though. Can't believe we packed so much stuff into 2 weeks.

stopping by to say HI and blessings to all here.

I have been MIA for a while since my Mom passed away, life has been difficult. I haven't felt like doing much since.

I did come across this funny video, I'm trying to find things that make me laugh, hope it brightens your day.

Too Much Snow!

sorry that your peers have not been able to take what life has handed them. Life gives us challenges. How we handle them says much about a person. Roadieboy, you seem to be made of the stuff it takes to see it through. Its too bad some others cannot seem to see that there are other wonderful things in this life to life for. Do not let their bad choices drag you down. Find other fun in life and embrace it.

I have done as much of my roof as I can. It left me pretty sore for a day or so, but I got up to Maine and have been out skiing this morning. I am in a bit earlier than I might have due to soreness, but I had a good time. More snow is due here later and at home. I am hoping to get it out of my driveway at home before it freezes as Monday we go back into the deep freeze again.

sorry.

I have not been in the talking mood lately.

It has occurred to me in the last few years that as my peer group ages, some of them have a problem getting back into the real world.

Rolf was loved by thousands of people, but he couldn't adjust when the curtain closed for the last time.

Yes there were the odd bar gig once every other month, but it wasn't the same.
It is not a vanity thing either, he knew that he was the bass player in a band that was a moderate success in Canada (and Bolivia for some reason). He wasn't Springsteen or Sting and he would be the first to point out his modest house and 12 year old van as the proof of his mediocrity.
But when he was on stage he was an entertainer, didn't matter if there was 10 people or 10,000.

I had worked with a band in Alberta for a few months in the 80's, in the last three years two members have parked their car in their garage and sat drinking a case of beer until they went to sleep forever.

Rolf took a longer method, but he never the less killed himself with drink.

I miss the road everyday, but have a wife and kids and grandkids that keep me alive.
For some people, even that isn't enough.

going out to rake some snow off my roof. Looking like we might get some rain on Sunday. Do not want to have that "sponge" of snow up there to soak it up.

Talked to Rolf's wife yesterday, the service is on hold while an old friend is out of the country.
Still doesn't seem real.

sorry to hear of your loss Roadieboy. That is WAY to young. I lost a good friend in his late 40's to lung cancer, another at 50 to heart issues. It sure makes you think of your own mortality!

Waiting for the next storm to start. Snow blower is full of gas. Gas jug has two fresh gallons in it. Went and got the roses for my wife, and a few other things while in the area. I'm home now with no intentions of going anywhere except out to "readjust" the cars in the driveway to help with snow clearing.

devastated.

My very good friend Rolf, 'Nik Rivers' Peter died in his sleep last night.

He was the bass player for the Canadian group 'Harlequin'.

I toured with Harlequin for 12 years and he became one of my best friends.
He was 51 and, at one time full of life.
He had been sick for the last few years, but this is still a shock.

very glad I'm not living in the Kitimat, BC region of the province where they've received more than 5 feet in just 4 days. Unbelievable! I lived in that area during the early '70's and saw more snow in the winter of '71 than a person needs to see in a lifetime. Sounds like it's come back to haunt them again this winter.

watching it snow again. We have had 61.7 inches of snow in the last 17 days. That breaks our 20 and 30 day records and is only 5 inches short of our 60 day record. As its still snowing, it looks like we might break that one today too. The good thing is snow settles after it falls so we only have 30 or a bit more inches of snow on the ground.

Will fire up the snow blower this afternoon and clear this one out!

seeing crude prices have gone up $6.00 a barrel. Gas per gallon on the NY spot market is up 15 cents. As a liter is about a quart, that equals about a 4¢ hike.
