back from a very long day. EH is doing better today!! The morphine for pain, plus the fact that his sodium levels (of all things!) were way too low, combined to make his speech be all crazy talk. He still doesn't have use of his legs, but his mind is there, so that is one big relief! Thank you, one and all, for your prayers, thank you, thank you!

just writing to let my friends here know that EH did have a stroke, that is why he can't use his legs and is talking out of his mind.

Please continue to hold him up in prayer, if you are so inclined, and thank you, everyone, from the bottom of my heart.

sneezing a lot since Thursday's outside ceremony. Think that has something to do with the migraine. Dang allergies! Still have a touch of the migraine today. Think the eye drops were just the proverbial straw....

Interesting story Roadieboy. I live 20 minutes from where I grew up. I have nothing to base moving to a new country on. Heck, I live an hour and 15 minutes from where my Mayflower ancestors landed! Talk about not going anywhere! <he he>

Pard - You AND ElHubDud will both be in my thoughts and prayers. They will figure out why the legs gave out. They will get him moving again somehow! The hospital is right where he needs to be while they get this sorted out. I hope he then transitions to a rehab facility CLOSE to home so it eases the return to you.

Celtic_Heart - Have not heard from you in a few days. Hope everything is heading in the right direction for you!

TM - How is Sandra? Hope she is doing SUPER!

procrastinating

Pard, EH is where he needs to be, they'll find out what's wrong & administer the proper treatment to get him 'back on his feet'... prayers for you both :)

Roadieboy, thank you - it didn't work but at least you tried :)

Seriously, must get moving!!

going to bed.

Dick, we arrived in Quebec City on my Mother's 30th birthday, then we had a three day train ride before anyone go any real sleep, or so my sister tells me. I of course was 18 months old and have no memories of the trip or living in England at all.

Goodnight

sounding strange that I am happy that EH is back in the hospital, but I am totally unequal to give him the care he needs here.
After his shoulder surgery last Tuesday, he came home, and his legs don't work. Zip, zero, nada. Hope this coming week will shed some light on what the Sam Hill is going on with him. Thank you for your kind thoughts, emails, notes and prayers. This is about the hardest time I've ever had. The only harder time was when my son was born prematurely, 10 weeks early, weighed 2lb14oz. But he is fine, all grown up and plays trombone professionally, too. So he's ok. Hope EH is, too.

sending Roadieboy a request...

Dick, hope that you're feeling better by now. I know that basically anything can trigger a migraine but never heard of eye drops doing that. I felt one coming on today when starting chores, got it down to just a regular headache, sheesh.

Hope everyone had a good day!

fighting a slight migraine. This one caused by those dad gummed eye drops the eye doctor uses to dilate the pupils. Got it yesterday after getting home and its still mildly there today. I guess I needed to come home and do nothing for a while. Sigh.

Will work on the Mayflower Society documentation today. The easy stuff......

Have to make sure I do the recommended PT exercises today. Hope I feel OK after!

Roadieboy. You don't look worried or concerned on the voyage. Your Mom looks asleep on her feet! Poor woman. Bet you guys plumb wore her out. Hope she had a week to sleep once in Canada!

Even though I am twenty minutes from home, it is still camping.

Dick, that us so cool you have traced your family back that far.
I hope you are accepted as a Mayflower descendent.
I can trace my family back to the ship that brought us to the New World, because I have pictures of myself on it.
It wasn't 300 years ago either.

I have an idea, good night for now.

also praying for Pard and EH. Hoping he wakes up this morning and is OK.

Also want to know how Sandra is doing.

Myself, I seem to have avoided doing anything the last few days to cause a whole lot of pain. I even drove 55 miles each way to Plymouth, Ma yesterday to see a friend of my sisters at the Mayflower society library. Two of my four lines back to the Mayflower travelers appear to be good and should withstand the scrutiny they put them under. I will apply this weekend and see if I can be accepted.

I am happy to hear that Roadieboy is feeling more like his old self. Glad SOMEONE is!

hoping that EH is okay. the surgery went well enough and he is home, but he is terribly weak and mostly unresponsive, falls asleep all the time and I had to call 911 to help him get in the front door, as his legs and feet decided not to work, and he fell asleep and slumped down on the doorsill and I couldn't get him up.

I'm feeling like there is no fight left in him and he's giving up. I could be wrong, I hope I am.

Thank you, everyone, for your prayers.....they help so very much.

dickc, I feel so bad for the nightmare of pain you are in, and how careful you have to be to avoid more. Praying for you.

Thanking outtacash for her prayers too, we will find out today just when ElHubdud has to go in. He's nervous, and I don't blame him.

camping.

We are camping just outside if the city in, Sherwood Forrest.
My wife was a member of a daycare association when she ran her daycare, and every summer they take the kids camping once or twice.
Although she retired and sold out her daycare she still fundraises and goes camping with her friends. One year she took our grandchildren but this year it is just the two kids with her.
I usually take this time to stay home and relax, but for some reason I came along this time.
I forgot how loud thirty or forty kids can be.
I think I will sneak away tomorrow and just come back for supper.

I slept for a full day after our trip to New York, I didn't want to waste time in the Big Apple by sleeping, although we went to bed early one night because we had walked so much and were beat.

I worked yesterday, just filling in and I was surprised how well I felt. It has been more than a year since I got out of hospital and I finally fell like I have improved to were I was before I got hurt.
Of course some of it is the medication, but I can live with that.

Well good night for now.

almost ready for bed

Feeling pretty good about myself for having a very productive day, they're few & far between!

Dick, I pray that you find the right PT; you have too many years left to be living with such pain.

CH, do share your feeling more than not :\ Today was an exception. Hope tomorrow is a better day for you.

Pard, will be praying extra for you and hubby on Tuesday. It will be OK :)

Wishing everyone good health & some sort of happiness :)

Pretty darned sore today! All I did was back into a kitchen chair unexpectedly. That caused me to move abruptly, and I felt it right in the back. Hooo boy do I still feel it. Sitting with the heating pad as the warmth feels good. Think I am going to lie down and read for part of the day.

Pard - Will see what the PT's think tomorrow when I see two different ones to decide.

TM - Did get what I wanted to do done yesterday without too much issue. Took it slow and careful. Felt a bit sore after, but it rested out OK. If I can control my movements and move slowly, I seem to be mostly able to function. Its the sudden things. Even bumpy roads hurt in the vehicle.

having a pretty good day.

Been busy knocking the Japanese beetles off my basil and moonflower plants. (and into a jar of soapy water)! Went to Taco Bell today and found a tomato hornworm moth resting on the side of the building. Asked for an empty cup to catch him in, and he's home with me now. They are so pretty, in an understated sort of way. Only wish their caterpillars weren't so destructive!

bored with not being able to o much. Have to go out and find a suitable PT place Monday. Am going to go to two of them and see what each would do for my back issue. Seems I have a mess from the L2 vertebra down. All disks are bulging and I have stenosis which is leaving less room for the bulging disks. Am not sure what PT can do, but will try. Sigh.

Hoping every one else is doing OK!
