Pet Diary
What has your pet been doing today or yesterday? Have there been any notable events in their daily life?

My cat Fraidy has been a little standoffish since I came back from my trip to see the family. If I am gone more than a couple of days she is not a happy cat but usually glad to have me home. I was gone a week and a half.

The male cat Slim on the other hand has constantly been in my lap. Slim probably has a fear of abandonment though it was not my first long trip! Last night Slim unloaded a 3 inch hairball on the floor. Yuck!

So what is going on in your pet's life?

All of my cats have been behaving themselves except for an occasional playful slap. "Little Boy" limped for a couple of days but he seems to be fine. "Slim" my oldest cat is thin and unfriendly to all of the other cats as usual.

I am treating my cat "Precious" for worms. So far it looks like the worms are gone.
I never found the body of my cat "Elvis", I can only hope he left this world peacefully.

My cat Elvis died. He was last seen on Monday evening by my neighbor who shared his upkeep. He was born in her yard. Elvis never once scratched or bit me, he was a gentle soul that got along well with me and the other cats. He was a professional beggar that was always the first on the scene when I ate, begging for a taste of what ever I was eating. When I said all gone saw was he. I will miss Elvis.

The cat is being sensible and staying in out of the cold, but the dog just doesn't care -- he expects just as long a w-a-l-k no matter how cold, or soggy, or hot the weather is.

All 7 of my cats came in out of the cold this morning to eat. Except for my fluffy Persian (Prince) they are all asleep in the house.

6 of my 7 cats came in for breakfast with me. They all got a piece of sausage to go with their dried cat food. "Precious" is the only one that did not go back outside. She's fast asleep on the head of my Lazyboy chair. "Elvis" as usual has not come home yet. No doubt he had a late night.

gocat, try you cats with a fountain or tap running, or filling the bathtub. For some reason most of ours have preferred running water. One used to stay in the tub until it got a couple of inches deep before he'd get out.

We finally got the dog tired out last weekend, with a nature hike in the afternoon and a most-of-the night walk around downtown TO right after. He took the next day off before getting back to normal.

My cat "Buddy" has been real sluggish and appears to be thinning. This cat is usually very feisty. I hope it's nothing.

Lina I don't understand what the fascination is about toilets and cats. When I flush it some come running. They drink out of it even though I keep a fresh bowl of water for them. Some of my cats play with the water. So far none have jumped in ..... yet. There's always a first time for everything.

My cat has the strangest obsession with the toilet - if I or the kids are in the washroom he meows under the door and "scratches" to get in (unless he comes in when you go in to begin with - then he meows and rubs your leg until you are done), he knows I always let him in before I flush, he has to watch it - he stands on the seat and his little head goes around and around as he watches...it is super cute

my pup (not so little at 85 lbs) has taken to listening only after I repeat myself (more loudly) three times - must be the stubborn phase...but he's so darn cute and sweet and gentle that I can't be mad

When I was preparing my breakfast this morning I had to the cats off of me. You would think they had not been fed in days. I finally hollered and got them off of me.
Elvis has not been home since yesterday. I think he likes the grub at my neighbor's house better. I thought the cats would like "Special Kitty Original", oops.

Elvis came home this morning only to grab a bite to eat and go the door to be let out. I think I'm being taken for granted.

My cat Elvis has not been home in a couple days. I expect he is pursuing one of his many love interests in the neighborhood. When he comes home he will sleep for about 10 hours.

well my dog (black lab) has been doing very well - however my cat has decided to leave "gifts" for me on the brown mat (nicely hidden - almost stepped in it) by the garage entrance two out of the last three days - not sure why

The wife & I went out of town for a few days. Our dog, Diva knew what was going on when she saw our bags packed, & was not happy. I had to go say goodby to her instead of her coming to the door like she does when I go to work.
Everyone was happy to see us back though, including the cats. Everyone is back to normal now.

My cat "Little Boy" was running in the yard with a beautiful butterfly in his mouth. I chased him down and made him drop it. Miracle of Miracles, it flew away. Today I saw my cat "Fraidy Jr", she acted like she was glad to see me. Btw "Fraidy Jr" is a female that looks just like my original first cat, "Fraidy" who also was a female. It's complicated.

My cat "Prince" was in the middle of the road with a female cat doing a dirty deed even though he has been fixed. I'm surprised I didn't get a call from one of my neighbors. Oh the shame and humiliation. No cat treats for Mr Prince this week.

Buddy is turning out to be one tough little cat. He has managed to stand up to all of the larger cats and he's the smallest of the whole bunch. "White Cat", my alpha female looks like she has had enough of Buddy's nastiness and is ready to put a hurtin' on him. In the meantime Buddy follows me everywhere I go like a little puppy. When I call him he comes running. The other cats are not impressed with Buddy but I am.

It looks like a cat has adopted me. I named him "Buddy" because he is so friendly. Yesterday he was hurt by one of my neighbor's cats. I put a little dab of Equate Triple Antibiotic on the cut and his scratch on the cheek is now healing. Friendly cats are my downfall. While Buddy loves me he is not friendly when dealing with my other cats.

Sadly this morning I found my cat "Spot" dead in my neighbor's driveway. She said she ran over him by accident yesterday. Spot has not been up to par for a few weeks and I think he may have been dead when she ran over him. Spot was the skinniest well fed cat I ever had. To his credit he was gentle, very quiet, never bit or scratched anyone and very non confrontal. Spot is the father of at least 6 other cats in the neighborhood so his legacy will live on for some time.

After a 3 day/night absence Elvis came home hungry and tired. I put some antibiotic cream on his wounds. The bad news for Elvis is that he will be sleeping outside.

The cats were in and out all day long because of the great weather. Normally I put the cats out at bedtime. I missed "Little boy", so when I woke up he was sleeping at the foot of the bed.

My cats, Little Boy & Prince survived their ordeal at the vet's office. They are now neutered and recuperating. When I opened up their cat carriers they seemed to be glad to be home.

I took the cats to the vet's but not without them fighting in the cat carrier. One minute they were sitting side by side and calm the next minute they were fighting. Being neutered should quiet them down.

My cats "Little Boy" & "Prince" are going to the vet in the morning to be neutered and get a rabies shot. Both cats have been chasing females for the last 2 days fighting and making love. At a year old it is time for them to settle down and stop marking off their territory. Since these cats are brothers it will be nice to see a little brotherly love.
