If your Honda has paint problems you may be able to get free repairs at your Honda dealer.

Honda are making it rather difficult to know if your car applies to the warranty.

I'll never have to worry about that.

No, I don't specifically remember the cause of Chryslers paint problems. It seems like paint problems were not that uncommon with many manufacturers in the past but I'm surprised about any recent problems. It seems unusual. However, no Honda owners have indicated a problem with their vehicles in this topic so maybe it is not a common problem.

Hello gvan,

Thank you for the article link. I was not aware of Honda's paint problems. I remember several years ago, a Topic on Gas Buddy regarding issues with vehicle paint jobs, but that was before clearcoat paints were developed and improved upon. I did read of the Honda exclusions and wondered if they can use "acid rain" as an way to deny repairs. I owned a 1979 Ford F-100 silver pickup where the paint peeled down to the primer, even by just washing it with a garden hose. I fought that and it was repainted, but problems remained.

Off topic, do you remember when Chrysler had paint issues and it was found to be related to deodorants used by assembly personnel which would prevent adhesion of paint to the vehicle's metal? It became a big issue with the UAW.

Take Care :-). MGY
