It seems that I notice the light much more than the gas gauge for town driving.....

On trips I watch the gas gauge more......................

yes, but I've never driven the car that low, I fill up at 1/4 tank. Manual states 2.3 gallons on the subaru forester.

I have to say I like having this feature as I use it more than the fuel gauge but I don't know why this happens but it seems to be the case....

With long trips I watch the fuel gauge but around town it is the low fuel light that gets my attention the most times and not the fuel gauge.....

Yes. No, I have a 40 gallon tank. I would go bankrupt if I let it get that low.

This light has been a good warning that the fuel is low on our vehicle...

I used my wife's car this morning and saw the light right away...

I never thought it was so low in fuel from using it yesterday......

I like this light because I find that I never seem to look at the fuel gauge that much anymore and I don't know why.......

This fuel light has really helped through the many years now......

Yes. It's a good idea to fill when it comes on. It will give you a good idea of how much fuel is left when the light comes on. Subtract what you put in the tank from your tank capacity.

Sneakers55 says " While I also have a traditional fuel gauge that I look at to see how much I've burned, I use the low fuel light determine when I need to get my tank filled. "

I am not sure I understand your meaning here.....

Wouldn't your fuel gauge determine whether your tank needs to be filled as well without the low fuel light coming on.......

My low fuel light comes on when there is about a 1/8 of a tank of fuel still left in the tank...............

While I also have a traditional fuel gauge that I look at to see how much I've burned, I use the low fuel light determine when I need to get my tank filled. Yesterday, I was out with a friend and needed gas and she filled it for me. I contributed the credit card to the effort. Put in 12.967 gallons @ $3.459 a gallon. It was Phillips 66 gas as I'm a stockholder who tends to eat his own dog food.

I guess I don't fuel up as often as I use to and now this light reminds me it is the time for gas once again...........
