Worldwide shipments of vehicles - half of these Chrysler brands - were up 5% to 1.2 million units in the period but sales in crisis-hit Europe fell by 5%.

Good to see the Americans exporting more cars, even if they are Italian owned.Full story here

Most people will only buy one chrysler product in there life
my Dad bought a dakota and in 4 years the dealer charged chrysler $14,000.00
in repairs , and still the truck was a POS

never again in this household

What this story tells me is that it was a good purchase by Sergio Marchionne and Fiat, in that it has helped out both sides. Fiat reorganized Chrysler, and now Chrysler is profitable and helping Fiat's bottom line.

I like the Dodge Charger and Challenger and have been impressed with the Ram pickups for years now.

I have long felt that the Chrysler makes cars with poor reliability.

"I would say that you have it backwards, Fiat helped Chrysler in management and sales."

Fiat is losing money in Europe just like all the other auto manufacturers. Chrysler is profitable and contributing to Fiat's bottom line.

I think Mertieman is right about management and sales help. However Fiat are not known for building quality cars.

I would say that you have it backwards, Fiat helped Chrysler in management and sales.

Don't worry Fiat will eventually screw up a good thing.

Fiat is needing some help, but at least at this time, it appears they were wise in investing in and purchasing the majority stake in Chrysler.

Chrysler has been pulling Fiat's fat out of the fire for a couple years now IIRC and honestly, I don't mind the money I'm spending on my 200 going to keep them afloat. They did the same for Chrysler a few years back and now that the European economy has been suffering, Chrysler is returning the favor with help from folks like me.

Chrysler on the way up again, much better than the European Chrysler`s of the early 1970s.
