Ford recalls 33,021 C-Max hybrid cars due to roof issue............

July 28, 2013 -

WASHINGTON (Reuters) -- Ford Motor Co. said it was recalling 33,021 C-Max hybrid cars because a roof component did not meet requirements for protecting against head injuries.

The vehicles were built between January 19, 2012, and June 26, 2013, in Michigan. Only vehicles without the optional panoramic glass roof are included in the recall.

Ford said it would install plastic energy-absorbing material under the roof on both sides of the vehicle to correct the problem.

No accidents or injuries have been attributed to the issue, the company said. Tests by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the company uncovered the roof safety issue.

LOL, yes it can be! Sometimes I use <s> at the end of a post to indicate sarcasm.

"Much more dangerous than a window switch catching fire, or a fuel pump seal leaking."

Except that Ford is doing the righ thing and taking care of this issue before an actual incident occurs in the field (unlike the above-mentouned issues).

The only rational reaction one should express here in this instance is to give Ford credit for doing the right thing.

Good for Ford, taking care of their issues before they actually become issues with their customers.

They have a problem and are fixing it. Something Toyota doesn't do, the fixing part.
