I know someone whose starter doesn't seem to work anymore due to a lockout, so it was hotwired to a push button to turn the starter motor on... No key required other than to unlock the steering wheel.

Does this count?

Don't have it.
Don't like it.
Used it many times on customer cars. More stuff to go wrong.
BMW and Mini have electric slide in key fob recepticles. Assinine frivolity at it's best.

I have an older $100k car, uses a key, works great, love it.

Both of my cars require a key to start.
Its just that neither requires me to remove the key from my pocket.
One doesn't even require the press of a button (botton?) on the dash, just put it in gear and go.

Both our vehicles don't have this feature..............

" I can't say that anymore since my wife just bought a brand new 2014 Honda Civic LX that has this feature on it ".....

I was totally wrong with that statement ..... my wife's new Honda Civic LX does not have this feature..

After picking up my wife's new Honda Civic LX yesterday I found out that this car doesn't have this push button start feature.......

You still have to use a key to start it.................

rkt wgn says "With all the ignition problems right now, I'm glad I have keyless .
Doors automatically unlock with fob in pocket by touching
Door handle, push start button on dash, and away you go.
When parking, push start button again, to turn off car, open the door , exit vehicle
Shut door, auto lock takes over. Just walk away, doors will lock.
If fob is left in car, it will not lock. Very good feature.
I think it is great. I have a ford escape that doesn't have keyless, and I hate the key switch control, and
So does my wife."

Now I know what is like owning a vehicle that has push this option on it...

Thanks rkt wgn for your comment............
