It is scheduled for repair next Tuesday. Door dents have always bothered me as they deface the vehicle and show a lack of concern by others. Do door dings "bother" you and to what degree?

I washed and waxed my six month old Chevrolet Sonic yesterday and, even though I park away from others, my driver door has a door dent and paint damage caused by a person who either has a vehicle with large doors or just has a non-caring attitude toward other's property. It is scheduled for repair next Tuesday. Door dents have always bothered me as they deface the vehicle and show a lack of concern by others.

Do door dings "bother" you and to what degree?

Are they that uncaring? Car ownership to many, including myself, is the desire to simply keep it looking nice for as long as possible. Thank y'all for your candor :-). The first one on my new car was traumatic to me. However, those emotions have been beaten out of me over the subsequent 3 years. On two occasions I had collision damage repaired; the collisions happened while I was out of the vehicle. I've lowered the collision deductable to $300 for that reason. Yeah, lack of concern by others. What's the world coming to?
