Ford plans to hire 2,200 new staff in the US this year, in response to the continuing rise in American car sales.

This is good news. Honda are also taking on staff in the USA but making staff in the UK redundant.Full story here

i would say that is good, but if things keep going the way they are, they could lay off that many just as fast.

Wait till Obama Care and all it's regulations and taxes kick in. Companies will be killing jobs and we will all be broke.

Its just a cycle. When times are good they hire, when times are bad they fire. Happens every 7 to 12 years in the auto industry.

Good news...hope it's a trend, but, with what's going on, or the lack of what's going on up in Washington D.C. right now, call me more than cautious.

I guess that hiring 2,200 is better than firing 2,200 ...

Good Morning StickSam. Thank you for posting that article. It is good news for the job market in our country. Sadly, Ford has had to close two factories in Europe due to the economy. Hopefully, the latest issue over inflated EPA fuel economy on Ford vehicles will not negatively influence sales. I am not a brand driven buyer, but have owned five Fords, one a Lincoln Mercury, and they all did well. I do think that taking car of a vehicle greatly reduces failures and enhances their lifespan. Take care :-) . MGY

Looks like the UAW will increase their slush fund there.
