If you have them, do you change them in the winter?

I have 45's on my Acura and I change to winter tires, not because of the low profile but because where I live winter tires provide far superior traction in deep snow and stopping ability on slick roads and ice.

The low profiles of 55, 45 or even 35 as one gentleman mentioned on his Bentley are prone to bent wheels after the winter we have had. (Cracks in the pavement; water, snow and ice gets in the cracks; then cars and trucks drive over the cracks causing the pot hole, yikes). With the lower profile tires usually means bigger wheels. Ram (Dodge) Trucks with 20"wheels standard shows where the industry is going, so pot holes are not a big a deal as they once were.
Now, if you have 15" wheels and 40 series tires then you have a problem. Some of these tires look like black rubber bands.
My Prius (Euro spec) has 195/60-15"s, my daughter's 2014 Corolla has 185/65-15"s and my wife's Camry Hybrid has 215/55-17". We don't have winter tires. Some days I wish I did...

Yes and yes. My car came with 225/40-18 summer tires and for the winter months I have a set of Bridgestone Blizzak winter tires of the same size on a separate set of rims.

Correct sir - Bentley Continentals come with factory installed 35 series tires - and they are VERY comfortable. High profile tires are used to make up for lack of engineering in suspension

I guess they're low profile compared to the bias ply tires from the 70's, but on today's standards, they are not low profile.

After a pothole filled winter, I give low profiles a thumbs up! They are more durable and stronger than conventional tires.

My car came stock with them. I've hit both speed bumps and potholes with no damage.
