If you have them, do you change them in the winter?

Low profile tires look great but are a rough ride over bumps...

Most of today's cars come with tires that were classified as low profile less than 10 years ago. I go with a -1 sized rim / winter tire combo for the snow, which would be the size that came on the base model of the vehicle.

Got through another winter with low profiles. They worked great as snow tires.

Now we're in pothole season. I miss 99% but have hit a couple. No damage at all. I stopped , got out and looked after one bad hole. NO damage. My old car with normal tires and steel rims/hubcaps would not have escaped. I would have lost the hubcap and bent the rim.

My experience is low profiles and alloy rims are a particularly strong combination for winter.

No..low profile tires give your vehicle a great look but the ride is rough and stay away from the bumps and potholes for sure.......

alex says, "Got 235/55-18 on our 2009 Acura RDX, but switching to 235/65-18 for better fuel economy and a softer ride."

you will have a slightly off speedometer & your odometer may be off by a little

10% in sidewall height won't make that much of a difference & you're just going to fool your fuel economy calculations as well
