I use mine a lot in the summer. When it's not really hot, however, I like to roll my windows down and get fresh air. When it's hot out (like it has been for the past week or so), I don't care how many miles per gallon I'm losing; I need to be cool.

usually when it's hot, or when it's humid (even when it's cool)...
the AC helps quickly defog the windshield and that's an important safety feature.

On the highway the windows are always closed so if necessary the AC is on. Around town, generally not below 85 degrees or so.
