I drive more highway miles/longer distances so I'm more inclined to look at a high mileage gas or diesel vehicle.

At present, my driving profile is 60/40 city/highway, and with that profile, I am more inclined towards a diesel. Should the highway portion decline to say 10-20%. a hybrid would be a serious consideration, especially a diesel hybrid like they have in Europe. Example of mid-full size car capable of 65 mpg US.

I have had a hybrid in the past. The only reason I don't have one now is that one got totalled and when I went to replace it I couldn't find another one like it. I would definitely not rule out a hybrid in the future.

Not sure, but since I keep cars 12 to 15 years, probably not, as I don't want to have to deal with battery issues.

Not sure, but probably not, since we keep cars longer than those batteries are warranted.

Not as long as I can buy a TDI diesel. Same or better mileage much less complicated, and more reliable.

All of these hybrids and EV vehicles have to come down in price before I would even consider one. Right now, EVs are completely out of the question.
