I'd rather have a v8, but I get by on 6. I don't ever want to own a 4 cylinder toy again!

I have a 1992 Buick V-8 that gets me 32 to 33 MPG. Why should i want a small car? Four & six cylinder engines are working all the time on the road.

Depends on the car and the design of the engine.

Four cylinder engines are the future for most makers. V-8 and V-6 engines are on the way out. They are generally easier to service and have half the parts to wear out or fail. Modern 4-bangers produce all the power the vast majority of people will ever need.

I have the 2012 Eco Turbo 1.4 on my Cruze, and it has the power of a 6, with great gas mileage.....The 1.8 is a real dog, when we took it for a test drive.....
Why buy a V6, if the Car Companies can give you the power in a Turbo 4 with great gas mileage???
