My wife was in one of those snowstorms by herself Sunday night/Monday morning of this week and had to drive past a dozen exits over 60 miles before she could find one that showed signs of life or was not already blocked by other vehicles that tried but could not make the grade, had just pulled off to escape the snow, or the crazies still trying to do 65 mph on top of 4" of unplowed snow covering an icy Interstate in limited visibility conditions, or that had crashed into other vehicles piloted by well intentioned drivers also trying to escape the weather. She was at least able to safely spend the night in her car in a parking lot, as all of the motels were full of weary travelers.
