I've used AMSOIL motor oil for about six years in my 2003 Elantra. Not sure if my gas millage is any better because I switched over when I got the car new. I get an average of 26.6 MPG. I have been thinking about using other products from AMSOIL, like the air cleaner, oil filter, and grease for the joints. AMSOIL has been around for a long time. Any thoughts?

AMSOIL is a bit pricey unless you're changing oil in your Ferrari/Bentley/Porsche and money is no object. My '97 Honda Accord EX has gone 300,000 on nothing but Wal-Mart oil changes. It makes some people feel better to spend more on their oil changes, but odds are you'll spend more on non-crankcase related(front end,A/C, etc) items on your car than you ever will spend in oil changes.

So long as there's dead things rotting in the ground and making oil I'll take the good old crude any day.

Yes, synthetic since 1996. Better fuel economy and engine wear.
