Me and a Maxima were speeding up a hill, not expecting a police at the top. Both got pulled over and have to pay $315.00. Since then I purchased a Laser Radar, and avoided police/MPs.

So watch your speed. Officers have --theoretically -- "officer's discretion," which gives them the option to to write a ticket with a fine, or to give a verbal or written warning. Where you are right is when politicians lean on the police command structure to write more "money tickets" (fines, vs. warnings). Two examples: On the Mass Pike, troopers are practically required to write fines. They're tough to beat, either at the vehicle stop, or in court. Boston PD leaves it exclusively up to the officer. Result: many more warnings over $$ tickets, because the officer doesn't want to risk getting a citizen complaint ("I was discriminated against! He called me a rude word!") So everybody runs red lights with impunity.

Last time I was harassed by pathetic punk revenue generators was in 2009. Now it's 2013. We'll see if the revenue generating punks get the better of me this year, either with artificially low speed limits or by outright mendacity.
