My 2009 Chevy Malibu coupled with my usual highway commute has averaged me about 30mpg.
My wife's vehicle on the other hand is a different story. Between her 2005 Honda Pilot and short, in-town commute as resulted in an average of perhaps 15mpg

A NICE USED FORD Escape/MERCURY Mariner/MAZDA Tribute HYBRID IS THE WAY TO GO! Let someone else pay for the tech.research and dev.
Our 2005 Ford Escape Hybrid gets 32.5 most of the time, paid 10grand the wifes P.O.S. 2004 prius only gets 40.3 not 60 like they said, but she got it for 7grand, ok beater I guess, but the Ford is our favorite, better quality for sure!

Gas Buddy yearly average is inaccurate. I use fuelly.com for the true yearly average which is now 28 miles per gallon.
